The company's reputation is significantly marred by widespread customer dissatisfaction, primarily concerning its review management practices and aggressive advertising tactics. Many users express frustration over hidden reviews, perceived extortion for advertising, and a lack of genuine customer support. Positive aspects are scarce, with some customers appreciating the platform's potential for connecting with local businesses. However, the overwhelming sentiment reveals a distrust in the company's ethics and practices, leading to calls for accountability and transparency. Overall, the feedback indicates a critical need for Yelp to address these serious concerns to rebuild trust among its users.

What is the point of a review company tht doesn't allow u to leave bad reviews about really bad companies cz their always taking down ur reviews, cz they are not up to yelp.com phoney, hypocritical politically correct b.s. Christianity standards?!?! This is just another ploy of companies trying to destroy Americans freedoms of speech & freedom in general, by enslaving people's minds & thoughts & behaviors! Yelp.com needs to be kicked out of America & only allowed to do business in communist countries, or middle eastern Muslim countries, where they murder ur entire family cz of something u said against their government! G.t.f.o. Of America yelp.com we don't need more problem companies censoring the American people like u, we need more companies like site jabber tht offer solutions! Thank u site jabber!
I did not ask for any service. I understood I was entering my business in the "yellow pages online" basically. THEY asked for my license so it could be verified - didn't share that was for yet another fee. I was willing to pay the "registration" initial payment of $115, but this is ridiculous!
I DON'T WANT IT, BUT I HAVE TO PAY IT SO MY NEW BUSINESS AND IT'S CREDIT RATING DOESN'T GET RUINED! Sounds like smoke, mirrors, and blackmail! Ripoff. Underhanded. I'm still looking for a breakdown of what this $441 represents! (found it now and attached here)

One year ago I paid $6000.00 for upper dentures. They have broken 5 times since. Now they tell me they won't fix them anymore. I think they are defective and they should make me a new set. Paying this kind of money I should have a dependable product. I would never go there again.
I used Yelp to locate a sushi restaurant nearby and it worked great for that. What didn't work is using a link on Yelp to order the food for pickup. Instead of linking me to the restaurant website it linked me to Grubhub which was only identified in the fine print. I tried 3 times to order the food I wanted and each time Grubhub said "Oooops! Something went wrong. Please try again." After the third attempt I went to the restaurant's website, got their phone number and placed my order over the phone. After I picked up my phone I noticed that I got an email from Grubhub saying my order had gone through and they had charged my card. I called them up immediately and they said there was nothing they could do to credit my account and I had already paid the restaurant directly. I ended up calling the restaurant and they agreed to give me a credit. Hopefully that will happen but it was a huge hassle because Yelp and Grubhub failed. I won't use either ever again to order food.
Dizzy Dean's Donuts in Eugene, Oregon has a Yelp review score of four stars.
Recently the owner made a video of himself that was uploaded to YouTube, pouring dirty mop water on a homeless woman outside of his business in the early morning hours with an outside temperature of 40°. The woman screamed in distress while he berated her.
Citizens were outraged by his cruelty and began to post one star reviews of his donut shop. Yelp removed them and blocked anyone from posting a review. This disgrace of a human being still is allowed to maintain a four star review of his business when in reality if people were not blocked from making reviews his Yelp review rating of four stars would have dropped significantly. Shame on Yelp for protecting this embarrassment of a business in our community. Here is the video...https://youtu.be/AwVM7Ea8s9Q
I've been customer of Yelp for many years, I spend thousand in marketing with this platform every year, but the treatment with their customer is terrible. I had 20 reviews from real and happy clients simply ignored / deleted from the system. Every time I complained they said that the software takes automatically the decision to keep or delete the reviews. I don't have this problem with any other platform just Yelp the worst!
So from now on I'll give my one start every time the system deletes my real reviews. For the owner/ CEO: it's time to review your system
As a business owner for the last 15 years I gotta say that Yelp is just no good. Good reviews are way more likely to get flagged and phony negative reviews always make it up there. Honestly, I don't care if someone wants to write a yelp review. It's all good and I do look sometimes before trying a restaurant but in many cases it's useless. For some reason, BIng is including Yelp in searches? WTF why? Bing get it together. This company has run it's course. Let it die.
Yelp runs a very misleading and fraudulent business when you try and advertise with them. They have aggressive and pushy sales tactics and also make it hard to cancel anytime you try. They also say they're giving you something for free only to charge you for it and never give you a refund for the scam they continuously do.
I've owned a business for 25 years. In one month sn X girlfriend was able to ( and still is) writing 50+ false reviews ( and still counting) under many different names, both male and female. I need to DAILY report them as hatred, and every day they remove them. But I'm supposed to do this every dam day because they refuse to remove my business or stop any further reviews. They literally provide a forum for harassment. To be blunt Yelp is a F'ing joke, They are criminals.
I tried to write a review for Yelp and it won't let me go through for me to write a review. And it is sooo confusing on how to use the review on Yelp.
Where to start, they charge for trying to post simple things like "We sell Gift Certificate" and then they refuse to show my 5 Star Reviews as if to intentionally harm small Business unless you want to pay them for everything!? Not really understanding why anyone with half of a Brain would choose to use this site for finding the Right Business for your needs. Completely Greed driven!
False and misleading pressure sales of advertising to new comers listed in their directory. Charges made to a credit card for NO services rendered. Calls to the "finance" department go unanswered and then hangups. Jason, McKenzie and Nancy Hernandez <*******@yelp.com> are no help. This is all an intention rip off.
I am a proud business owner of a great appliance repair company called a+ appliance repair and we advertise over a large internet market that depends on great reviews and this is the part that makes me see yelp very poorly.every search engine and website collects reviews and if you look at our reviews they all make a great logical sense with every other. But yelp is very different and our company has made me every effort to resolve what they are doing wrong and we 100% have got nowhere.they are the only site i have ever seen that accepts bogus reviews for other companies and put them on yours, so of course we started asking customers to post great reviews on yelp and none of them they let actually be posted or they take every good review down because they don't get an account with them, now isn't that shady? Because every review good or bad legally matters, but to them it does not, there excuse is there automatic system determines who stays up.then why does it let bogus reviews for
I wrote a review of Belk Department Store, explaining my DIRECT experience with an order I tried to place on the store's webpage. Belk took the review down completely, without asking me ahead of time, and THEN sent me an email saying that they didn't think it sounded like this actually happened to me - that maybe I was recounting an experience someone else had. I responded with proof (email from Belk representative detailing the incident on the same date) but have been IGNORED by Yelp.
Yelp is COMPLETELY USELESS and actually is DETRIMENTAL to consumers if they pick and choose which reviews to allow other potential customers to see!
Cancel over a month ago, they are still taking money out of my account. Don't give them your Credit card.
Wish I could give them no stars...they stole my money. Nothing but bot calls and bot clicks. Nearly impossible to talk to someone. Charged me $140 for 1 month worth of use that I didn't even realize I signed up for or noticed a difference. Pure garbage. 2 hours of sitting on hold to be told, "sorry, no refund". I was so mad, I wanted to be completely removed from the site and they refused. Highly recommend that you run from Yelp as quick as you can.
Having spoken to a complete sociopath at YELP about scamming businesses having my honest reviews removed, claiming I was, "an employee" they did less than nothing! Blatant liars, Yelp getting money from the companies being reviewed is an obvious RED FLAG! Now, further proof they are a scam (NPR, ABC, NBC, etc.) and causing HARM, as dishonest medical doctors, attorneys, etc. lie for profit, in FAKE REVIEWS! I'm
Yup is by far a scam and the worst business I have ever done business with. You don't gain any business from advertising with them no matter how much you spend and they can make sure you lose business because they only like to put negative reviews and none of your positive reviews then they tell you that they're "AI" is in charge.
They only let bad reviews go through unless you pay for their service. It's a way to promote libel. Yelp needs to go down.
Run, run, run! Their review process can kill you- it has me. They scan all reviews and if a review looks "too good" they assume i have solicited someone for it and they wont credit it to my ratings. I have fabulous reviews- most not posted. But they let all the bad ones thru since its obvious i didnt solicit those. I lost more than 50% business when a terribly false review was allowed to stand. She said i had a mouth like a truck driver, which i dont, and she said many other things. Yelp could fact check some things but the wont. They are hard to use for also...Too many steps for reaching out and i lose track of people. Its a watered down version of google. No need to advertise in both locations and my experience with google has been so much better. The biggest problem though is you cant disappear from yelp. You can stop paying them but your ad and terrible rating stay forever. Just say no.
Answer: Yes, it's true or they go to "not recommended"
Answer: Yelp are crooks, find some where else
Answer: For one of my business they made me pay for their monthly service which I never did, so my positive review was hidden.
Answer: Look somewhere else. As the reviews here show Yelp is notoriously unreliable.
Answer: Yes they erase all reviews they darn well wish to delete. CROOKED YELP!
