The 77% current positive reviews on TrustPilot are a joke. Go online elsewhere and get the bigger picture. They will deny claims where your hardship was out of your control by simply calling it a "social trip." I am getting married this year, and my trip had to be cancelled because my fiancee's work change (her employer). I was scheduled to go meet her in the Philippines and meet her family and then we would travel back to the US together. Thankfully she has not booked the return trip yet. But this hardship was totally out of BOTH of our controls, and when you purchase flight refund insurance, you should be able to use it. They make no allowances for anything beyond "carrier" disruptions. Worthless. Most carriers issue their own credits if they cause a disruption. Don't waste your money on this.
Denies all claims, No appeals, No Customer service phone number also called cover genius and renters insurance Unbelievable poor company booking.com only travel insurance choice,
Submitted a 1,000% legimate claim for a box getting damaged by FedEx. They denied it and appeal saying basically wasn't packed correctly per their terms. 1,000% FALSE! Product totally packed EXACTLY per their terms. This company is dishonest and committing theft and fraud! DO NOT USE THEM!
BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE! Xcover is a scam. They will change your cover dates without notifying you. They are unreachable and will not cancel your cover even though they state there is a "cooling off period". They will steal your money and you can't do anything about it.

The dates for my return trip were entered wrongly (by x cover, not me)when I tried to change them I was first given the wrong date again, then on the next attempt it was cancelled and a refund offered. Because the date was wrong the refund was not worth the bother, but then they said it was 'impossible' to buy more cover from them once I had booked my trip. I went elsewhere ('Insure and go' cheaper and easier)

I bought a plane tickets on December 2024 to travel to Europe and the end of April 2025 in Expedia and the insurance with Xcover, my daughter got in seriously ill in march and that month was diagnosed with the neurolups, so now we have to cancel the trip. I put my claim in Xcover after several weeks they ask me for information proving everything and the claim was approved, they sent me a broken link to put my bank account but the link was broken. After send several complains through the we page explaining that the link was broken, they sent me another mail saying that my claim was denied because of a preexisting illness which is crazy. I already submit everything proving that the diagnosis was just happen and it was already approved. Please don't use this insurance is a scam.

Hi Jose,

Unfortunately, we are unable to find you in our system with the information provided. It may mean that you purchased your protection using the Safari web browser or via your Apple Account or iCloud email address. Apple sometimes blocks your email address from being shared, which means you might not receive our emails to activate your RentalCover Account.
Please respond to any of our emails with the following details: The email address used during the purchase, the date of your purchase, where you purchased RentalCover Protection, the purchase invoice/reference number (if available) of the purchase made at the same time as your RentalCover Protection. Good morning. No one from your offices has contacted me. We lost the money for the ticket even though we had taken out insurance to avoid this. I repeat, I am a support administrator for a disabled person and by law I had to be present at the hospital for reasons of force majeure to open the medical records. I have to sign. He cannot. According to point 5 we are entitled to a refund. Repositioning on another flight would also be fine for us. awaiting your feedback. Marco castellani Ada Aloisi
YRNT6E-R8AAU-INS They do not even comply with your insurance regulations and this is legally subject to complaint. They not comply with the contract. I am a support administrator/legal guardian of a disabled person and I have been summoned to the hospital to open the medical records and give legal consent for a liver biopsy on March 31 and April 1,2025 and therefore according to point 5 of the contract a health emergency prevents me from leaving on the flight booked from March 30 to April 7-8 to New York together with my wife. I sent Them the summons (Castellani certification) and my appointment as administrator (oath) to the civil court of Rome. But they have not read the documentation and have refused to reimburse the tickets. I will inform the guardianship judge of the civil court of Rome who will take legal action. Marco Castellani Ada Aloisi
XCOVER is a SCAM and does NOTB pay out on insurance claims. I bought xcover insurance through Shippo. Com for many of my shipments for items I sold on eBay and there were several that were obvious insurance claims, thankfully not for much money but every time I filed, xcover would drag their feet and just keep asking for more and more information unnecessarily and their goal is to simply wear you down until you give up on the claim. VERY SHADY and VERY POOR company to work with. They will be investigated and put out of business soon I am sure of it. Thier greed and corruption is too obvious and it's only a matter of time until they are shown for what they really are. Just fancy scam artists.

First of all I never write reviews but this experiences was a nightmare. We are a SME company and dealing with this Xcover insurance.
I would give you a small summary.
Early August 2024 I send a package towards the US. The package had a value between 35K-40k euro
When I was making the label, from the company Sendcloud, I could click on Xcover insurance claim. We could only do up to 5000 euro. I took the risk. Next time I would advice you to use UPS or DHL.
In the box there were 2 manufacturing parts. One part get got missing because there was a hole in the box. I was allready happy it wasn't the expensive part. So I made a claim a few days when I received the news from my customer through Xcover.
Xcover has ask me over more than 35 PDF documents for filling the claim. Which I did. Every time they say this document is not good and I adjust it. Their UX and UI from there website is fine. But you can't call nobody and send no emails!
After 5 months this they came to the conclusion that I had only right on 1000 dollar because the package was arrived and opened. I disagreed but everytime we are going back and forwards they take serval weeks to answer.
Now, February, 7 months later!, they agreed to pay me 1000 euro and asking for my banking details. There is a link but this link is not working. So they keep sending me a email with a broken links. I tried 4 different browsers and 2 computers and it is still not working.
What can I do to get my money? Why are dealing with your customer this way? It is criminal behaviour.
Best,
Willem

Hi Josta,
Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. However, we have noticed that your feedback has been shared with the incorrect brand.
For years now, every time I purchase a Vueling ticket, I've added the "Total Protection" insurance from XCover (the default one) to travel with more peace of mind. It's an extra €20-€30 per ticket (GREAT UPSELLING STRATEGY BY THE WAY!) but I've always thought that having full protection could be useful in case of unexpected events.
I never needed it because I never had any issues.
Until two days ago.
Due to my mother falling ill, I was forced to delay my departure by one day. So, I spent another €300 to buy a new ticket (Florence-London), confident that the cost of my original ticket would be reimbursed by XCover.
Well, I was wrong.
XCover – the company I had trusted for so many years of flying – actually does NOT reimburse you if you miss a flight due to force majeure (like a parent getting sick).
Their responses are cold, terse, and detached. Maybe even written by AI.
The result? Despite paying an extra €30 for "Total Protection," I will NOT be reimbursed by this company that claims to sell "TOTAL PROTECTION."
But this won't end here. I will hire a lawyer and make sure this company stops selling "TOTAL PROTECTION" insurance when, in reality, they completely ignore you the moment you face your first issue.
What a disappointment.

Hi Marco,

The minute you place a claim -- they write back to you and say, "How did we do?" I wrote -- how's this? "Honor my claim and pay it, and I will give you a good review!" But they denied my claim... I had an injury and could not drive a long distance to a hotel -- (they had a no-cancellation policy) Submitted a claim and doctor's note to Xcover-- and they came up with a non-sensical reason for denying my claim, which made no sense—shame on Priceline for promoting this company on their website.

Hi Peter,

My husband and I filed a claim with this insurance company due to the inclement weather(snow storm) in Atlanta and Delta mechanical issues on January 18,2025. The airlines were unable to depart on January 10th as scheduled. We incurred two days worth of hotel, transportation, and meal expenses. Thirty plus documents were submitted to support this claim and they still decline the claim. If I had did my homework like usual (read the reviews) I would have never purchased any travel insurance with them. I had a bad feeling about this company when my husband suggested them. My recommendation is to never get involve with this company. They do not have a phone number nor do they assigned a representative, so that a lot of these issues could be resolved. To all the customers out there, please be aware!

Got xcover for trip cancellation if needed. I ended up canceling my flight a month before the trip and xcover then "canceled" their insurance so I could not get a refund. It is clearly stated that if I cancel my flight I would be refunded. They have no phone number to contact and keep sending me automated replies. Don't do it.

I bought trip insurance because I couldn't be late, I was unable to manage the trip or file a claim. Priceline was unable to help and said I had to go through Xcover. Unfortunately, I had to buy new tickets for my family of 5 on the spot and arrived a day late. Priceline also tried to file a claim on your site and were also unsuccessful. I have answered every call to my phone for more than a month hoping someone would reach out but all I have gotten are emails about the inquiry, which I have attached. Please feel free to contact me Via email or Phone number that is registered with my trip. - H

I purchased event coverage from XCover.com for a show I couldn't attend due to a COVID diagnosis. Despite providing proof, including metadata of test results from the day of the event, XCover.com has refused to honor the refund, demanding additional documentation like a medical certificate that wasn't originally specified. I escalated the issue to the Better Business Bureau, but they accepted XCover's response without further action. I want to warn others about XCover's lack of support and transparency in honoring their policies. Avoid purchasing from XCover if you expect reliable coverage. For the record, I've been battling this for months now out of principle, they're putting up a fight because they don't want to cough up a mere $70.
