The 77% current positive reviews on TrustPilot are a joke. Go online elsewhere and get the bigger picture. They will deny claims where your hardship was out of your control by simply calling it a "social trip." I am getting married this year, and my trip had to be cancelled because my fiancee's work change (her employer). I was scheduled to go meet her in the Philippines and meet her family and then we would travel back to the US together. Thankfully she has not booked the return trip yet. But this hardship was totally out of BOTH of our controls, and when you purchase flight refund insurance, you should be able to use it. They make no allowances for anything beyond "carrier" disruptions. Worthless. Most carriers issue their own credits if they cause a disruption. Don't waste your money on this.

Submitted a 1,000% legimate claim for a box getting damaged by FedEx. They denied it and appeal saying basically wasn't packed correctly per their terms. 1,000% FALSE! Product totally packed EXACTLY per their terms. This company is dishonest and committing theft and fraud! DO NOT USE THEM!

Oct 25, 2025

BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE! Xcover is a scam. They will change your cover dates without notifying you. They are unreachable and will not cancel your cover even though they state there is a "cooling off period". They will steal your money and you can't do anything about it.

Not worth it

Save your money. Their terms are narrow. You're better off with no coverage. Additionally they may ask for documentation as proof if you met the narrow terms for refund.

BS scam company.
February 17, 2024

I am a small business owner and I do my shopping through shippo. Without me knowing, they insure packages through a third party, XCover. I've filed four claims out of 3000 packages and never received the insurance back from the claims. This last claim I filed was very important, it wasn't just lost in the mail but it was damaged. XCover gives you the run around. Since November they tell me I need a welcome email, confirmation email, documentation, yadda yadda. I give them everything and still they tell me they don't have any of it or any record of me. I sent proof but still no help.
Also, if I file a claim why do I need a welcome email? What kind of made us BS is this? I hope people look at all these reviews before getting screwed like the rest of us!

Xcover is a scam! Avoid!
February 9, 2024

I am disguisted why Ryanair cooperate with Xcover insurance. Xcover is definitely a scam, there is no possibility to contact with them (no phone number, no chat, only online form and automatic responses by bot). If you send them all documents for claim, they send emails that you didnt and close your claim. Even if everything is clear and as they requested. This company is somewhere in Australia, they do not have teams understanding another languages. Do not buy insurance from xcover. There is thousands of negative comments.

A total scam!
February 7, 2024

This is not a real insurance company, it is a SCAM! They keep on asking documents again and again, and after you have provided them many times, they just keep asking them again. Bought this insurance through Ryanair, and will tell all the people not to do the same error. My daughter almost died in the hospital during our travel and this insurance company does not want to reimburse our flights which we missed because of her hospitalisation. Disgusting and cruel.

Xcover = fraud
February 5, 2024

Xcover is requesting more information again and again even though all information have been shared and underlined since they dont know how to read. To be more specific, I took an insurance covering flight cancellation in case of covid19. Even after giving them the note of the doctor, they pretend that this is not enough information when they specifically request a doctor note in the first place. I think it is fair to call them a scam at this point. Be careful, they are not trustworthy.

Xcover - The scam flight insurance
February 5, 2024

On October 16,2023, I booked round trip flights from the USA to Turkey and from Turkey to Israel, and back to the USA. While I was in Turkey, Turkish Airlines canceled all flights to Israel due to the war. I had to end my trip and go from Turkey back to the USA. I was forced to buy a new ticket back to the USA. I tried
So many times, to file a claim with Xcover, sent them numerous emails and called them multiple time, but all in vain. My attempts to contact Xcover to file a claim and resolve the issue were unsuccessful. I called their customer service number provided by booking.com (+61-281-883-), but was not able to talk to any human, and automated service advised me to submit a claim online. When I filed a claim via email (*******@xcover.com), again I was referred by Xcover to file a claim online. When I tried to file a claim online, I was referred to a HELP web page that provided no "help", and my claim did not go through, again. I was cheated and robbed.
I will file a claim within the BBB and government official.
This is how big company such as Xcover( From Australia) make money. When I complain to Booking.com about it, they washed their hand by say "you need to deal with Xocover about it".
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY on Xcover insurance offered by Boooking.com.

Scam
February 5, 2024

SCAM ALERT! Please beware of this insurance and look for anything else. After having horrible time with our lost package, these people will make you jump through hoops to deny your claims based on "not providing listed information" which you do for months.

Never had such a bad experience with an insurance company.

Here is how the claim process goes with XCover:
You make a claim, they'll take weeks to review the documents you attach. After one month they'll ask for additional documents. You'll upload them but you'll not receive any confirmation that they received them and you won't be able to check what documents are attached to your claim, or what you communicated with them, you can only check what the communications they send you. Then, they'll keep sending you communications requesting the documents. You'll keep uploading them without knowing if they got them or not. Then they'll threaten that the claim will be closed if you don't send the documents. You'll send them again hoping and praying for the best. And then, they'll close your claim because they haven't received any of the documents they requested you. They never reply to your communications (although they'll reply to this review saying they do). There no transparency on how the claim process is going, or what documents you submitted along the claim. The communication with them is one-sided and there is no way to know if they read what you write them.
It is obvious that they make this not to refund the clients. They don't want to acknowledge they received the documents because that would mean they have to refund your claim. They'll ignore you in order not to pay. It is not a trustworthy insurance company.
It is the opposite of an insurance. Instead of giving you peace of mind, they'll give you constant headhaches. You'll think you are covered, but that's far from reality. You are not covered, you just fell into a scam. They'll never refund you.

Never returned! Never Again
January 29, 2024

I purchased the "return guarantee" for a Christmas gift on 12/16. ON 12/26 I was told "I am out of the 7 day window" ARE YOU KIDDING ME! I'm sure that information was not in bold capital letters when I shelled out my $29 for a guaranteed return. I'm not sure how this is legal. The company I purchased the product from, "The real real" also did NOTHING. Never again

NEVER USE THEM AS HEALTH TRAVEL INSURANCE!
January 25, 2024

AVOID, YOUR HEALTH IN DANGAREOUS WITH THEIR SERVICE!
You will be alone with any serios injures without ANY HELP.

I was injured on the morning of January 24th and visited a clinic in the city where the incident happened for an initial check-up: my arm was dislocated and broken. The doctors repositioned my arm and said that surgery was required (there are three pieces of bone that need to be put back in place).

The cost of the surgery is 16,000 EUR and the 'emergency' line said they needed approval from XCover. I spent the whole day in the hospital waiting for this approval, but with no success. It's been almost 24+ hours since the injury was reported, but the information line doesn't have any update on when it will be approved. It seems you will be left alone with your injuries. You are covered for 1M, but it's a struggle to get even a 1K approval for emergency cases.

The customer service on the information line is 0 out of 10. They lack any information and any means to contact XCover directly; they say all communication is done via an internal platform with no way to update status. They suggest I contact XCover myself via their website, which is almost impossible since you only receive bot responses after 2-3 hours with links to FAQs.

In fact, my arm is still broken, and they don't know when a decision will be made – a day, a week, a month?

SCAM, AVOID IT!
January 23, 2024

This is a complete and utter SCAM!
AVOID buying that so-called insurance altogether.
After insisting that you buy this insurance, they apply conditions that they NEVER tell you at time of purchase.
The conditions that apply to get your money back are incredible.
Although in the application they place several options that, even so, are no valid to receive your money back.
I am not required to show proof of work, medical examination of myself and much less of my relatives, and much less proof of studies or personal plans including transfer of my job to have my money back.

I paid for the optional extra insurance in case I could not attend an excursion. After contacting the company they asked for hospital documents which are impossible to aquire, ensuring they do not pay out under any circumstances. Contacted them twice to no avail, still requesting documents which cannot be attained.

I paid them for travel insurance and for the tour I was taking of the Holy Land. After multiple time consuming attempts of trying to find out the status of my claim (for which I supplied all kinds of documentation) I have been pushed from one agent to another. After close to 8 weeks I am none the wiser as to the status of my claim. I had to cancel my Holy Land trip because 24 hours before I was to leave Hamas attacked Israel! The airline itself cancelled flights to Tel Aviv because of the terrorist attack.
I am reporting this sorry insurance company to the IL Dept of Insurance. The worse thing is not the money I am losing to XCover, but the hundreds of dollars I could have had refunded if I went with a reputable compamy
