The 77% current positive reviews on TrustPilot are a joke. Go online elsewhere and get the bigger picture. They will deny claims where your hardship was out of your control by simply calling it a "social trip." I am getting married this year, and my trip had to be cancelled because my fiancee's work change (her employer). I was scheduled to go meet her in the Philippines and meet her family and then we would travel back to the US together. Thankfully she has not booked the return trip yet. But this hardship was totally out of BOTH of our controls, and when you purchase flight refund insurance, you should be able to use it. They make no allowances for anything beyond "carrier" disruptions. Worthless. Most carriers issue their own credits if they cause a disruption. Don't waste your money on this.
Denies all claims, No appeals, No Customer service phone number also called cover genius and renters insurance Unbelievable poor company booking.com only travel insurance choice,
Submitted a 1,000% legimate claim for a box getting damaged by FedEx. They denied it and appeal saying basically wasn't packed correctly per their terms. 1,000% FALSE! Product totally packed EXACTLY per their terms. This company is dishonest and committing theft and fraud! DO NOT USE THEM!
BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE! Xcover is a scam. They will change your cover dates without notifying you. They are unreachable and will not cancel your cover even though they state there is a "cooling off period". They will steal your money and you can't do anything about it.
Don't ever use them to insure parcels going UPS or Fed-Ex etc. I'm forced to use them by Shippo as a third party shipper and I'm selling antiques on ebay. I have been packing antique clocks and other antiques for about 30 years now and take pride in my packing. But parcels do get mishandled and occasionally lost. That is why you purchase insurance. Had a very well packed double boxed clock damaged and had purchased 700 in insurance. Put a very reasonable claim in for 400 to cover repair time and decreased value of clock. Let the games begin. They had al the information from day 1 of claim but keep sending these PC generated emails saying they need info for info they already had. No person no phone number no sense whatsoever except giant hoop jumping festival. Don't give them a nickel thinking you have pc of mind insurance because they are a compolete SCAM Company. Surprised they are allowed to operate. Closing my account with Shippo which I liked but they force you to use this company

Through Shippo, we ship out 1,000's of packages with very few Claims. If you file a claim with XCover on an item you insure through them, they will NOT pay you and find ridiculous excuses to avoid paying the Claim. Case in point, I had a Buyer by an item from me that the total cost was $35.80. This included the purchase price, Buyer's premium (auction fee), shipping and handling. The item broke during shipping which the Buyer provided ample photos showing the item was clearly broken during shipping. I refunded my Buyer in full for $35.00. Filed the Claim through XCover which I had this item insured for $40.00. I also inlcuded in the Claim the refund check for $35.80 I paid my Buyer, photos of the damaged item, etc. XCover made some ridiculous statements and offered me $12.89, ripping me off for $22.91. This was the 2nd time they did this to me and I will NEVER pay XCover for another package insurance. Unbelievable, they'll screw you every time.

The RealReal recently started offering Xcover insurance to return handbags which were previously not subject to returns. I paid the premium for the option to return but when I tried to return a bag I realized this was a complete scam. I am an insurance defense attorney and I understand the concept of insurance and I can identify unfair business practices. Please do not purchase this "service." You will regret it, a significant amount of your time will be wasted, you will get nothing helpful from this company and you will lose money. Xcover needs to be reported.

I recently booked a hotel room via Priceline and got XCover insurance if I had to cancel due to an event. In this case, Hurricane Helene occurred and made travel to Athens dangerous as I am on a cycling trip, but since the hotel has not officially closed, no major roads in the area are closed. The XCover insurance will not cover the cancellation and has denied the claim. For this reason, I will never book anything through Priceline or use XCover again. I tried to find a way to speak to a human at XCover, but there were no means to talk. You must use their website to send comments back and forth; how they have designed the website is strange. For the claim to be honored, they wanted me to cycle through the hurricane-damaged area, and if I got injured, then they would honor the claim; this is something that I cannot risk. I have found both Priceline and XCover useless in helping me resolve this issue. I would give both companies one star if I could. Save your money and find other ways to book your vacation.

My favorite insuarance still valid but they refuse to cover anything Unfortunately, your claim was unsuccessful.
Your protection doesn't cover this particular situation. The following exclusion applies: Your protection doesn't cover any claims submitted 30 days after the event that caused the claim.

I wish there was a zero star, that's what they deserve. I agree with other customers that say this company is a SCAM. How are they allowed to operate while swindling money from all this people? They denied my legit claim several times, there was political unrest in the final destination and we could not travel for safety issues but they denied the claim stating not unless there was a terrorist attack. When there's travel advisory including terrorism I would not be stupid enough to still travel but you scammers don't care. And don't send me those robotic replies full of lies, I have read that they will say they will escalate but they don't. Priceline needs to stop using this sham of a company!

Absolutely dreadful experience! Steer clear unless you consider purchasing travel insurance a mere formality. I was forced to cancel a much-anticipated weekend getaway due to last-minute military deployment, with only 24 hours' notice. Despite promptly submitting all necessary paperwork through their seemingly straightforward system, weeks passed without any communication. After waiting six weeks, I reached out via email, only to be met with silence. Subsequent follow-ups yielded no response either. Frustrated, I lodged a formal complaint, but to no avail – still no acknowledgment. It's baffling how this company garners positive reviews when my case, with clear evidence supporting my claim, was blatantly ignored. Worse yet, attempting to find a contact number proved futile, leaving emails as the sole means of communication. Their lack of accountability and utter disregard for claimants' concerns is appalling. Even their complaints department operates without professionalism or transparent communication. In summary, a terrible company that demonstrates no accountability, fails to engage with its customers, and shows no respect for their business.

BIG SCAM WASTE OF MONEY don't waste your money on this stupid scam. I Lost my income and filed a claim. Loss of income is one of the reasons listed to approve reimbursement, yet they told me my job loss was a "change of plans" and wasn't covered. I'm so sick of these scammy companies. JUST DONT DO IT. I hope these jerks go out of business

I attempted to cancel coverage less than 24 hrs of purchasing and couldn't do so on the site. I kept receiving an error message stating to try again later. Ultimately, via email they stated my coverage period had expired. Sixty days before the event and less than 24 hours after purchasing? I don't think so. Per my account, coverage didn't expire for 60 more days. Therefore, to me,this company is a scam.

I provided all the necessary paperwork, but XCOVER still hasn't accepted it. I wouldn't recommend buying insurance from them. They keep asking for the same documents and still refuse to approve my claim. I provided documentation several times and they still keep emailing the same plus they have no live customers service.

Hi Loycie,
Thank you for sharing your feedback with us.
Please allow time for us to thoroughly assess your case.
Meanwhile, we invite you to check the articles in our help centre for detailed descriptions of the information needed to efficiently assess claims. The biggest cause of delays in claims is incorrect or missing paperwork.
To view a complete history of email communications regarding your claim, simply log in to your XCover Account and navigate to ‘Your Claim’. Here, you will also be able to check your claim status.
Picture this: You're at the airport, bags packed for your dream trip. Then some bureaucrat with a rulebook crushes your plans because of a technicality. If you think that's unfair, wait till you see how travel insurance can turn into a second betrayal. My story exposes the heartless sham of Revolut and their partner, Xcover.
The Theft and Xcover's Heartless Exploitation
My nightmare began with a theft abroad. My backpack – with my laptop, camera, the tools of my livelihood – was gone. I naively believed "travel insurance" meant being protected. Xcover proved me wrong. Laptop? Not covered, apparently. Even a minimal amount of cash to get by? Excluded. As for the rest? Forget it. They lowballed me with "depreciation" excuses, minimizing my loss as if I was selling used junk, not a victim of crime.
When Bad Luck Gets Kicked Down
My jacket got stolen in Brazil. Another setback, more expenses I hadn't budgeted for. You can probably guess Xcover's response: Not. Our. Problem. Turns out, real insurance helps when things go wrong, Xcover only cares about finding reasons to say no.
The Airport: A Kafkaesque Nightmare
This brings us to the airport debacle. Despite having proof of onward travel, Colombia's rigid rules left me stranded like a criminal. Forced to abandon my original plans, I scrambled to find a ticket I could afford while stuck in Panama. Travel delay, added costs – none of it mattered to Xcover. It was yet another example of their heartless system designed to leave you holding the bag.
Revolut: Complicity in the Scam
Revolut was worse than useless. "Escalations" were a cruel joke, leading nowhere. They chose Xcover, a company notorious for denying claims, then washed their hands of the consequences. They smiled when I signed up, but when I needed actual help, they hid behind their partners' fine print.
You Are Not a Policy Number, You Are a Target
I'm not alone! Search online, and you'll find countless stories of Xcover's tricks. Revolut? They don't care, they just want your money. I'm fighting back, not just for myself, but to expose this cynical game. They see us as walking liabilities, not customers. That needs to change.
Don't Become Another Victim
Before you fall for Revolut's slick marketing, do your homework:
Demand Details: Don't let "insurance" fool you. Dig deep into the policy. Investigate the Insurer: Are they known for denials? Do they have a trail of angry customers? Fight Back: Companies like Xcover and Revolut bank on us giving in. Don't! Expose their tactics, shame them publicly.
I purchased an Apple Watch in November of 2023 and added the additional insurance, the watch was damaged in February 2024. I submitted a claim on February 15 2024 and it is still in submitted status. I have sent numerous emails and left numerous voice messages and no update, this by far is the worst customer service experience.
The most annoying warranty company. The worst thing about them is you have to email them because they don't have any live reps. So the process for one thing can take weeks. I wish I knew this ahead of time. The gold foil to my wahl vanish damaged less than two weeks. I'm extremely disappointed because I actually like the item. But now I have to wait weeks just for a simple accessory part.
I took out travel insurance last September (2023) which I now totally regret as I had to make a (small) claim with them and there is NO customer service to speak of. They just ask you to submit documents, submit the same documents, submit those documents again, occasionally you get an automated email from them. I'm wondering now was it a scam, which is weird, as they are affiliated with Ryanair (i.e. I took out insurance with a flight I was booking for a work trip). Steer clear, they are appalling. I really regret not doing my due diligence before.
"Booking Refund Protection" is a total scam. It does not in any way resemble similar kinds of "booking protection" you will encounter on virtually any other platform. The 'wording' of Xcover's booking refund policy essentially gives them total impunity to accept or reject your claim with no rationale. You'll need a DOCTORS NOTE to prove you were 'too sick to attend' and based on all the other 1-star reviews this bogus company receives here, even that is not enough. The message is clear: this is a criminal minded business that is designed to deceive and exploit you.
Xcover will ask you for the same documents over an over, like a receipt or proof of payment, or details of the contents of your lost bag, like every receipt to the last one. Once you dig into all that for days and submit every single receipt and bank statement requested, they will refund for your lost bag PEANUTS. Why? Because "depreciation" of your items inside, even if they were new gifts it happened to me) God forbid you get sick abroad and have to pay out of your pocket for hospitalization (which happened to my parents), after you provide all the medical bills and payment receipts, they will ask you for "your own insurance explanation of benefits" without that the case will be closed (like they did), because it takes months to get that document from your own insurance, that's one, and second, why do they need that? YOU are paying for extra insurance, it is not free, you needed peace of mind, but with this scammers you won't have it, AVOID. Waste of time, and money. Worst company ever met in my life. There are no negative stars, but i am forced to give them one. SHAME!
