Writing.com is a place on the internet where all writers, young and old, avid and casual, can come together in a like-minded community. The resources provided on the site are top notch, and the number of available activities and writing prompts mean you'll never be at a loss for something to write about. Add on top of all of this, dedicated community members who will read what you write, and give you honest, full detailed reviews, as well as provide tips and pointers to help you take your writing to the next level. Believe it or not, all of this is available with the free account! It only gets better as you upgrade though, with more space for your writing, access to members only type areas and items, as well as discounts in the shop! All in all, I have not found writing.com's equivalent anywhere, both because I believe it doesn't exist, and because I've never needed to look.

Writing.com has been a phenomenal site. I've enjoyed being a member and participating in different challenges. Mostly, I am glad to have a place to post my work.

I've been on this site for 10+ years. It has become my home away from home, where I can always find support and honest reviews for my writing. What I've found is that you get out of it what you put into it. Every genre has a place here. I've learned and grown as a writer and have expanded into genre's I thought would be impossible to tackle. There are plenty of contests to enter, challenging activities to take part in, and groups to help you hone your craft. Writing.com is definitely a great place for writers from every level.

I have been a member of Writing.Com for four years now and the site served me well so far, considering I'm not American or even English. I know this probably doesn't mean a lot to you, you might think "who the hell doesn't speak English in the world today", but next time you feel neglect you try to be the only person representing your country in any online community and you will see how easy or difficult (I guess it depend on you as individual) you can grow in such environment, how easy or difficult you can gain readers, reviewers, how easy or difficult you can make social interaction, how easy or difficult is to promote your writing. When I signed up I didn't know I'll stick to it for so long to be honest because I was just someone who loved to keep the journal and someone who had few writing ideas written in Word (how silly is this), therefore I joined online writing community as a total newbie in order to see if I can do anything more than that. I guess you can say I literally learned creative writing on Writing.Com because I can see progress I made in those four years. With this being said, I can only imagine where am I going to be in the next four years from now if I put enough of desire into it. It would be ridiculous to blame Writing.Com if I find myself being in the same place where I am today. I can only blame myself for not putting enough of effort in my writing plans, not an online site that provided me ALL tools to take advantage of them.

Writing.Com is what you make out of it and I honestly don't see the reason why it can't be helpful to someone whether you're total newbie or someone with writing experience. I mean, if you desire to be published author, you can't just write a story, a poem, a novel, whatever and sit in your room waiting for someone to read and tell you how awesome you are because that will never happen. How many famous authors have been turned down before they reached the stars? Like I mentioned above, it depend on you only how you're gonna make your dreams come true and how big your dreams, actually, are. So why don't you first sit down and talk to yourself about what you want from your writing before you proceed to take advantage of writing tools that Writing.Com offers. It's a great platform to display and promote your work, to learn new things by participating in various contests and writing related activities, to read others, get HONEST not BAD reviews, make some friends, and overall being part of drama free community which is so rare to find on the internet nowadays.

This site considerably enhanced my written communication skills. I have earned quite a name at my workplace as writer of great mails. Much of it is owed to my participation at Writing.com and the feedback I received from the reviewers. This site honed my creativity by giving a platform to participate in the various contests where I polished my writing. It is also a great community with full of warm and friendly people who give useful feedback through their reviews. The added advantage is that you get to read a lot of interesting stories because there are wide choice of genres available where members can have their pick.

I am a long time member of WDC, although I haven't always been as active there as I am now.

As a community, WDC has offered new friends and incredible support, both in my writing and in my personal life. People have been incredibly kind to me, and it has been nice to have other writers to talk to about writing.

As a writing website, reviews from other writers have helped me to hone my skills, and boost my confidence. Contests have helped me to get out of my comfort zone, and to practice skills I hadn't previously worked on. Reading and reviewing the work of others has allowed me to help other writers, and to look at my own work more critically. It is also nice to see such a variety of writing skill level, ranging from youngsters and beginners to highly educated folks and professionals.

In the past, I used their free account option, which I initially found met my needs. I didn't have any complaints. Once I upgraded to a paid account, I found that all of the extra features were worth my money, and I felt good about supporting a place that has been so good to me over the years.

I've been a happy member of WDC for years. The site has become a big part of my life. I enjoyed writing stories and I actually learned to write many forms of poetry. My writing has come a long way since I first joined, but this site offers so much more.
I found that WDC is a fun community. There's always someone around on one of the many forums, to answer any questions or simply to chat. Forget books and magazines -- There are so many amazing things to read here. In addition, there are fun 'game-like' things to have fun with... Crossword puzzles... word searches... mad libs, and more.

This site has been around for a long time and it has continually added to its features. Whether you are looking for a social site to discuss writing ideas or anything else, for that matter, or you are seeking publication and want serious, informed feedback, you'll find it here. The site is huge and a daunting experience for the new-comer, but the forums are more than helpful and all is geared to facilitating your own creative process.
