Bought 2 sets of gas logs. They arrived quickly and look beautiful. One of the logs arrived broken. Order correspondence is my only issue. I never received emails such as order confirmation and shipment information. This made it difficult to contact the company regarding the broken log.

Our 20+ year old gas fireplace unit have up the ghost and we ordered a replacement after some online comparisons. Our new Empire unit from Woodland Direct arrived soon after we ordered it. Installation was fairly easy, I would suggest ordering the installation parts, hose, etc with your fireplace as we had to do some running around to get proper fittings. Otherwise installation was easy and took under an hour (not counting the running around caused by our idiosyncratic piping system). Go thru and unpack_all_ of your parts before starting installation, the elbow to direct the gas line out the back (needed in the initial install steps) was in an envelope with the rock wool (one of the last steps) and it was not shown nor mentioned in the instructions at all. Likewise, the on/off switch was not mentioned except in the wiring diagram, but if you order it (optional) your fireplace_will_not_ light until it is installed even though the pilot will light. Again, the switch is not mentioned in the instructions at all.
The assembled fireplace looks very nice, quite realistic overall and a real step up from our old one.

Only thing was aggravating was my order shipped through 5 different companies was a bit inconvenient to schedule and meet all the deliveries.
Keith, we appreciate your story here. Sometimes lead times have us sourcing orders from in stock options, which means we have to split the order up to fulfill your order sooner. Five scheduled deliveries would be a challenge for anyone, though. We have some figuring out to do...this was unacceptable.

When I was looking at these rugs I didn't know what to expect. When it arrived it was bigger and better than I thought. I've only had it a couple weeks but it has already saved my floor from two hot coals that rolled out of the wood stove. Would definitely purchase from this company again. Shipping was reasonably fast also.

Hello James. Just a heads up, there is nothing wrong with your hearth extension. A properly built hearth and hearth extension will have a slight slope. Screens like this are made with perfect angles so what you describe is common. A small metal shim under the front of your screen will help close the gap up top. From the time I called and explained my problem with my fireplace they returned my call andasked for pictures. I sent them and within one day, they knew what I needed showed me the part and said that they could get it to me which they did very quick very fast.
