Another swift delivery, with books packaged safely. I've use wob for years but I'm especially delighted to be a customer right now. I've discovered I have a few authors in the family but most of their books are old and out of print. I've managed to track dozens down on the wob website so an even bigger thank you than normal for their fantastic service.
Yet another very good experience with World of Books! Service is very good, delivery is very good, responses from customer service are excellent. I am a frequent buyer of books from them and it is rare to be disappointed!

WoB has a good selection of books at affordable rates but the shipping charge for international orders is rather high. In fact, it comes out more than the cost of the books itself because even if an order is placed for a set of books, the company charges shipping cost for each book, not for the whole package. If the company could look into this policy (and provide relief for customers like me), I would buy more often. On the plus side, most of the old books I have ordered are in excellent shape. They are mostly unsold stock, not used ones.

I have been using WOB for a while now after buying from them through Amazon. As I'd been happy with used books supplied through them from WOB and I try my best to minimise spending with the giant I decided to go direct. Books supplied are always in a very good condition, certainly meet that advertised condition. In fact in an order since New Year they contacted me to say that one of my items did not meet their standard, did I want a replacement as my copy was the last one, or a refund. Decided on a replacement from My Wishlist.
Now always try WOB if I see a book that takes my fancy.

World of Books (WoB) offers a great selection of books and other media at reasonable prices. The UK site offers quite a few items not available at a cheap price in the USA, so I have often purchased from them. However, the WoB shipping department causes me to cringe. They use ONLY plastic bags for international shipping and it is a roll of the dice as to whether the items will actually arrive or arrive damaged. Over the 2022 Christmas season, I made 5 orders for a total of 44 items. With that many items, multiple packages were sent. Now in the middle of January, I have tallied the items I have received: 28 items received, 16 missing. That is a failure rate of 36.4 percent. At least 1 of the packages was destroyed in shipping -- I received a letter from the USPS indicating that fact along with a small piece of the plastic bag that was attached to the shipping label (none of the items in that package was received). Two of the orders never arrived at all (which has happened in the past on MULTIPLE occasions). The number of packages that did not arrive is certainly higher because I received only a partial portion of two of other orders (1 order of 3 items was, thankfully received in its entirety). I was prepared to have some items go missing because this also happened MULTIPLE times in the past. The WoB staff was polite in the past and issued me a refund for the past missing items, so I have confidence they will do so again, but that does not obtain for me the actual missing items (some of which were intended as Christmas gifts). The 36.4 percent of missing items from these 5 shipments is the highest failure percentage (and the most missing items) I have ever encountered from WoB. The company desperately needs to change two specific things to improve: 1.) they need to ship items in cardboard boxes if a shipment is going internationally, and 2.) they need to provide actual tracking numbers to the buyer so that a proper search can be conducted if things go wrong and entire orders go missing. Additionally, they should really indicate which books are former library books with associated markings; while such books do have the information that is wanted, they are usually not in a condition that is appropriate to give as gifts. So far, WoB has shown no indication of implementing any of these improvements. So, every order I make from WoB is a gamble. But I will continue to purchase from them because sometimes they are the only place I can obtain some items. I just accept that a significant percentage of the items I order will never arrive -- despite the fact that I live in a very populated state (Connecticut) and there are multiple post offices within 10 miles of me. Welcome to business in the 21st century -- great selection, poor delivery.

I wanted a particular author in the rare book section. I was lucky enough to find 1 book. Whilst searching for that author I came across an artist from the 20th C. So bought that aswell.
Books arrived before estimated delivery day. All in very good condition and at a very fair price. Thank you, I will be back again soon.
I ordered a book from WOB using their website, it was, as usual, a trouble free experience. The order was immediately confirmed and then I was later informed that it had been dispatched, The book was packed well and in very good condition, as new in fact.

I ordered a copy of spell songs that should of included a cd of songs. I was eager to listen but have spent over seven days trying to sort out returning the book. I didn't receive a return label and have just spent £3.35 returning it so am not happy. I ordered another copy which was fine but the cost and inconvenience are not what was expected. Overall a good company,normally,and have not had cause to grumble before.

WOB offers used books at amazing prices. I have often found my next series of books on WOB and have ordered the lot at an amazing price. Whilst I do not shy away from my local bookstore for new reads, WOB has enabled me to widen my reading and with so many books available, the TBR pile just increases!

They are such a good company with great values! They always arrive so quickly and in great condition the books are cheap but that doesn't make the quality bad, probably better than books that you get at Waterstones, the only problem I would give them is not being sure what translations the books are in, but apart from that I Love it! I am a frequent buyer and have bought from them multiple times and will continue to do so!
