Good fast service and books in good condition for 2nd hand, my only grumble being that getting ex library books which are not mentioned in the description and having stickers on the books with £1 still on them when you have paid more than that for it.

A simple to navigate website, easy ordering, great delivery times and high quality used books make using World of Books for reading needs an absolute must. They tick every box, including addressing wastage and environmental issues. Thoroughly recommend.

Have always had good service. Very good delivery. Easy to order online. The books are always in good condition. Always as they have been described.

I was sent an uncorrected advance copy of a book, which clearly said inside that it must not be sold. Wob said I could return it but would not refund the postage. I complained about this but have not had a reply. In addition, I did not think the book was accurately described as in Very Good condition.

Love this site! Always on time if not before estimated delivery date. Has so many choices of great books!

An easy to use website and a huge inventory of books new and used makes World Of Books my go to when searching for a book. Honest descriptions of the condition of the books is helpful and I haven't had a book yet that hasn't matched the condition stated.

I was shopping in WOB since 2021 and spent hundreds of pounds on books last year, however, not anymore. Wob made mistakes previously, but the last order is a mess. I've bought 10 books and two of them were not what I have ordered. One of them is with sentences crossed out and in general, is very messy and doesn't look in a good condition, however, wob team was super sweet and despatched me a different book in the same price range. The second book is a different story. I paid for a book because I needed a particular edition for university, WOB sent me some extremely old edition from 1969 and now when I want to return that book I have to pay for postage myself or take a 30% refund. It is unfair and as someone already wrote in reviews here, it definitely goes against consumer rights. I don't need that book. Moreover, this is what wob customer service says:
"All of our products are listed by their ISBN/EAN numbers. Sometimes, these do not always identify changes to the book's edition. Our database automatically provides the information and photos of the items on our website based on these numbers. On some occasions, this means that the information and photo may be of a different edition.

All our listings state that the item picture is for illustrative purposes only, actual binding, cover or edition may vary."

Basically, you can never know what you're actually buying and as their database makes mistakes and shows wrong information about the books, YOU will need to pay for that, because they're just acting like it's not their fault. Their system doesn't work. It was written 2003 edition on the listing and I have received 1969. There's a massive amount of time between these two editions…still need to buy a required edition for the university, but definitely not from WOB. I will be more careful from now on and will choose a different seller. As I said, I was buying from them since 2021 so people be careful because if it didn't happen to you yet, it will and they will not care about you, only reply to all emails by that one template. Disappointed.

WOB is a great site and service. My husband and I needed a book, he ordered it from Amazon, I from WOB. Mine arrived first and cost much less!

I always return to Workd of Books when I'm looking for another read. I can't fault the company. Secondhand books at great prices and free postage and a company with great values. What's not to like?
I'll never pay full price for a brand-new book again. I love the idea that other people's reads are being repurposed and someone else getting a go. Makes so much sense in these stretched times to buy second hand. A very efficient mailing system too so never long to wait for that desperate to get your hands on,book to arrive. Love it!

Excellent and efficient service in this country, Switzerland and USA. USA was £1.50 extra for postage direct and arrived well within stated time of 10 to 14 days. So to Switzerland but £2 postage. Very reasonable. Recipients delighted with their books

I find it really easy to use the site, they had the book I wanted, it was 2nd hand but you'd never guess, and as a bonus it was a surprise to find it had been signed by the author and at less than half price! It came by royal mail when they said it would. I'm so pleased with this company.

Quality of books is outstanding. My go-to for rare or unusual books. Great prices. Fast delivery. Always been pleased with WoB.

Ordered book & got confirmation email. Waited some days, nothing further. I had to chase and got email saying book was in poor condition when they got it out of storage and they would not be sending and did I want to pick a different book. No offer of refund. Emailed back saying no other book, just wanted refund and ALSO there were 30 of these books still showing in stock (screen grabbed image showing this) so the misleading info on website could leave others trying to purchase same item in this situation. Tried to cancel on the chat bot on the website. Got a standard email saying I couldn't cancel at this stage. Still no offer of refund. Complained to paypal and they forwarded complaint to World Of Books. Miraculously that same day got email saying book on way. So yes I have the book now that I wanted in the first place but dreadful communication, misleading information, no offer of refund at any stage and no polite apology for tardy service. I am always one to praise when a service is good but will do that opposite when needed. Please sort out your stock calculator, automated emails (that do not address the issue in question) and general customer service. These are small things that can be ironed out, resulting in a better service and thus better reviews.

I have used WoB a number of times, in fact it is my first choice when looking for a book, sometimes the books that they send look like new. I also think that their business plan is one worth supporting. The one occasion that something wasn't quite right, immediately the team at WoB put it right, what more can you want from a company.

I am a returning customer and as always the item and service were value for money and exactly in the condition described just as I have come to expect. Highly recommended.

Great books always a good price, only ever had one problem, reported it to the seller & got a full refund

If I see a book I would like or a dvd I would like to watch I go immediately to wob always great quality books and dvd I always tell people to try the site first why pay a fortune when the books are like new anyway for a fraction of the cost
