I had started to do my website, mind you this is the first time doing just that. I had signed up for a full 3 days. Had paid the 35 dollars for a domain without me understanding that wix would host this domain. Once paid for I went to continue with building my website only to be notified they wanted over 100 dollars for hosting. I decided I didn't want to continue at this point and requested a refund for the 35 dollars. Got a refusal for refund. I would have understood if this had been a couple of weeks but THREE days? So as far a referring them it will NEVER happen, would definitely recommend staying far away from these thieves!
I have been with wix for a good 8+ years. Now I got scammed by them. So they like to change their plans and prices. I had my current paid billing cycle coming to an end (last day June 6). I was intending to change my subscription to one of the options they had with 50% off and a bit less bells and whistles than i currently had as i ended up not using them all. I got charged 14 days early however (on May 22,2023). I call them right back to request a refund explaining the situation. They told me 1) The refund process takes up to 12 business days (!) 2) You are not guaranteed to get your money back! I'm sorry what? You charge me EARLY and tell me most likely i'm not getting my money back for a service that is not even take into effect for the next 2 weeks?! What the fudge. The customer service rep told me my best chances to downgrade is to go ahead and do it myself and used the applied credit (i.e. The money that got charged early from my card) to pay for subscription. I said okay, so subscription is 2 times cheaper than what I got charged, when are you refunding the rest? He said, they are not gonna refund the rest. They are already "gifting me" that great deal on promo. That promo was there for couple weeks now... I've always paid for each next year through promo... Anyways, I had to sub for 2 years in the end and lose about $60 in difference between credit that was applied and money that got charged from my credit card. I'm going to start building a website on a different platfom and wix are losing me as a customer. F u wix with your scammy shady policies.
Beware! Shocking warning! When you use the export/ import function to make any quick minor changes WIX deletes ALL your product variant photos when uploading! In my case this was 1411 images. Phoned support and they say yes that happens, if you make very minor changes then import them you loose all your connected variation photos and they seemed not bothered when I say I now have to spend possibly 2 months re-uploading 1411 images manually! Complete madness and there is no warning that this will happen even though they admit this is not good for customers. In short, website was fine, now it is totally broken!
My experience with wix has been horrible. There platform is twitchy and it has been difficult to get my mobile site running... I will not be renewing my plan...
Be cautious when signing up with this company. It has been 2 weeks since my client paid me and Wix has not issued the funds to me.
They keep asking for documents before they issue the payout. Firstly, I fulfilled everything that was asked to setup the account in order to receive payments for my business. It wasn't until my client paid me that Wix asked for additional documents 'to prove I have a legit business'. After I fulfilled everything they asked for, they requested additional documents. What they have asked for exceeds the norm, so I refused to send additional information until I receive the funds.
I asked if I cancel the subscription, how soon when I be able to receive what my client has paid me. I have not got a direct answer. There answers are very general.
My subscription is now canceled and I still have not received what my client has paid me.
Works but is slow. The editor is awesome, but when you use it on a computer, you can't edit on mobile.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND! It is NOT intuitive, it is insanely complicated and I have built sites on several other platforms this one is the WORST! Customer service is a bunch of people who you cannot understand and do not speak or understand English. It is glitchy, changing parts of a page are nearly impossible. It crashes constantly. I DO NOT RECOMMEND! Any other platform is easier than this one. WHAT A WASTE and SO FRUSTRATING!
I am the owner of Bagatelle LLC, a small online antiques shop and my website is hosted by Wix.com.
I have been using Wix.com for about 5 years and use "wix payment method" to receive payment via credit card.
I made a sale for $8500 plus tax on May 26th, 2023 paid by American express.
However, soon after the payment was made, I received an email from Wix saying that I needed to update my bank information (even if it did not change in 5 years).
After 5 phone calls, I uploaded several documents with my bank info, all matching Wix requirements, and tge information I had to enter manually. According to the differents persons I had over the phone my documents would work.
However, after probably 3 hours over the phone, about 10 attempts to download different documents, trying to fix that situation, it has systematically been rejected with no explanation. I was guaranteed over the phone that I would be reached out by email if that was the case, but it never happened.
Obviously, the persons I had over the phone systematically refused to give me the contact information of the department that is taking care of the payment system authentication just to make sure that such a situation will never resolve.
Since I am enable to get my money, I asked Wix to reimburse my client which after 3 days has still not be done. When I asked over the phone when it will be done, no one was able to answer.
A supervisor was supposed to call me back and it did not happened yet.
I can't get my money, the client can't get his money back, I will lose a client and a big sale, will damage my company's reputation because wix is enable to update my bank info that hasn't changed in 5 years. The structure of the company does everything possible not to resolve that situation and its best for the customer not to collect evidence as the only way you can reach them out is by calling them
I recently tried using Wix.com to build a website on my iPad, and it was a complete disaster. The user experience was terrible, to say the least. The interface was clunky and unresponsive, making it difficult to make even simple changes to my website. The drag-and-drop feature was particularly frustrating, as it was almost impossible to move elements around the page without screwing everything up.
I can't begin to tell you how much time I have wasted fixing the same formatting issues over and over again just to discover that the wix editor has undone my work and apparently does whatever the f*<% it wants to do. Want your text center aligned? Wix will only do half for you. And every time you try to fix the half not aligned, wix will align that but un-align the text that was originally aligned. Both the website and phone editing is total crap. Currently I can see half my photos out of place on my actual phone. But in the editor there's nothing wrong so no way to fix it! As soon as I have the money and time I will switch over to a different platform. I'm so tired of fixing the same thing over, and over, and over, and over, oh and btw all my service photos just disappeared on mobile, oh. Fix that well here let's just randomly reformat your desktop site! Aggghghhhhhhhhhhhh! Save yourself the headache. The savings compared to other options just aren't worth the agitation of doing the same thing 50+ times.
There is not enough space for me to go into detail about how bad this site is, so i will just list all the problems. Doesn't save, takes 5 hours to load, no paintroll option, glitches and deletes your whole site, super confusing, you can't insert photos half the time, and you can't delete anything.
I have lost my editing abilities to my website on wix and I can't get the help from wix. I need to be able to get into my site. They set an appointment for me on my email but never come back to connect and resolve my issue even when I have a claim with several employees of wix.
I am beyond disgusted with the service or should I say lack of service that I've been receiving from
Wix. They want permission from the site owner to assist you with your website and, yet, they take it upon themselves to go into your website and make unrequested changes when they feel like it. So, the website owner has to keep correcting the changes that the techies make that were never requested. It is an unbelievalbe waste of time! Neither my desktop nor my mobile website can be navigated as these idiots, apparently, would rather change the background color than work on something that is essential. As it stands, right now, since nobody can look at the various sections of my website, easily, they'll get off my site ASAP! So, I'm jerking around correcting THEIR mistakes on a website (mine) that, as I type, is useless. RUN don't walk away from this ridiculous company.
They put spam all over their site and I use to be able to ignore it but then they put it at the top of the order page on your store so you have to scroll down or close the add to see orders. As you update orders you have to do this each time you come back to the page. This is time consuming if you are rushing to fill orders and do invoicing. They also nickel and dime you to death cause everything things cost more money. Their customer support is horrible in my opinion as they seem to be the bottom of the barrel in IT skills. Their website is like walking back in time before IBUYSPY was introduced so you really get old technology because their team of developers are not the brightest stars in the sky it seems to me anyway...
I write a little garden blog for friends and family and I loved Wix - easy to use and it looked great! But sadly no more - I have reached my storage limit. I read up and deleted photo files and old blogs and resolved to use much smaller data on images but no luck the data I have used has not moved at all. So it's goodbye and back to WordPress. I am not their target market so I'm sure they don't care but it is a shame.
My website was stolen from me by a third party that I hired and they claimed that the third party is the owner of my website. I asked to talk to supervisor and they refused to allow me.
Absolutely overpriced business tiers. The customer support are clueless when it comes to resolving billing problems. God forbid you pay for a plan and then try to change it, they then keep charging you even though you paid for a high plan.

Be sure to deactivate auto renew. They charge me double the price on renewal and would not refund my money when I cancelled.
This site will automatically update "features" like separating your entire site into "sections". It's impossible to work with, so they want you to hire a "professional". This reeks of scam. I can't even edit my site properly anymore. It's absolutely insane. Stay away.

The recording first said, that "due to call volume, i would have to call back when they next opened on Monday (feb 13th!)" which means that they haven't changed their answering message for days! Then I tried this morning, and there is a new recording that saids that they will next be open on Tuesday feb Feb 21st! So. Fuck. Seriously. We can't afford to rebuild our whole site again with another service! And i've/we've had WIX for over 6yrs now..

Answer: One of the things that really bother me with Wix (besides them being so focused on extracting money from their customers that they tend to forget about everything else) is that they make these changes and do not care one bit to inform their customers that they are going to do this, so all of the sudden one has a site that doesn't function and unless one keeps checking daily whether everything still works as it should, one end up having problems. That's one of the reasons why I'm out and do not plan to use them much longer.
