We used to order prints *******@Winkflash. #NeverAgain. They defaced a pic of my daughter & won't even respond to emails requesting a reprint.
They'd get zero stars if that was an option.
I've always loved winkflash been using them since 2004. I have all my kids baby pictures on there. I need to be able to retrieve them. I have emailed them twice with no reply and sat on hold being caller 8 to caller 4 in 2.5hrs. Has anyone heard a response from them on how to get pictures? I'm sick over this I have 106 albums probably around 15,000 photos can anyone help?
NEVER had any problems until this sudden closure occured. Does anyone have an idea of HOW to retrieve the photos off of the website? I have thousands. I have tried emailing customer service to no avail. I NEED to get these photos moved. Thanks for ANY help you can give! Not feeling very happy to be left high and dry after such a great experience for SO MANY YEARS!
I have used Winkflash for many years, they always had great service. I have a number of photos in my order cart, with no way to order them, with no order link on my cart page. Reading all these reviews they must have had a lot of customers. I think the Winkflash business may have closed up shop. I have many, many folders on Winkflash, I guess I'd like a site to move them too if possible. If you have any suggestions on another site, please let me know.
Winflash was awesome! Unfortunately, on Sept 8 2014 they posted on their website that they are out of business. No wonder I couldn't find a "place order" button when I was trying to order photos! Bummer...
I placed an order on 08/25/14 and even though, I paid for the photos and photo books, they were never delivered. Order status was "printing" for two weeks in a row. When I called customer service, I was "Caller #8" for an hour. I called everyday for a week; I was not able to get through. I sent countless emails; no replies. I'm very sad, frustrated and disappointed. I had place another order with another company.
I don't know what happened to winkflash! I had received an order from them a couple of weeks ago. Since then I have placed a few orders and my credit card has been processing for a couple of weeks! When I call the number - the lines are busy and no one replied to my emails! Anyone with a similar experience?... any suggestions?
Had great customer service 10 days ago. Made two large orders. I've heard nothing since. Been trying to contact them for three days and their phone is ALWAYS busy. No replies from their emails either. I somehow got on a call wait this morning and I was on hold for over 6 HOURS before I was officially disconnected. I have several screenshots to prove it! I've attached one in this comment. Something has happened there and I'm wondering if someone knows what. Very weird!
Has Winkflash gone out of business. I can't figure out how to place an order! I have placed order with them in the past, but the "place order" button is gone! I have emailed them several times, and no one is responding - almost two weeks now...
I had been satisfied with my orders from Winkflash in the past, but this time I ordered a (small) photobook well in advance of a meeting and I did not get it in time. As another reviewer reported, it was "printing" for weeks. Customer service was no help at all, just said they were very busy. Would not go through that again.
I ordered plenty of photo books from Winkflash. I really like them. Now every once in a while, printing never seems to start. About 20% of my photo book orders were "printing" for 4 weeks. They promise a turnaround of 3-7 days.
I wrote to customer service.
The first time that happened, customer service told me they had a problem in one of their printing facilities. I cancelled the order, ordered it again, and voila, two weeks later the book arrived in my mailbox.
The second time, customer service told me they had such a high volume to print, they just can't handle the volume. However, they would bump my order up the queue, so everything should be fine.
Two weeks later I cancelled the order.
If you need something printed in a timely and reliable manner, Winkflash is not the company to use. If you don't have a deadline to meet and don't need customer service support, go ahead.
Did I mention, customer service didn't apologize for their crappy service?
Winkflash.com is my photo printing palace. They offer good prices and their turnaround is ushally really fast. I ordered almost 200 photos last week and I got them in under a week. I still can't believe it. And they look great too!
Ive been using Winkflash for years now. Theyre prints are top notch and you cant beat their prices. Wish they had more shipping options because sometimes it takes a while for my orders to make it here. Other than that though, Winkflash is a quality printer
I ordered some posters for a charity event and they came out better than I expected. I have never used an online printing company before but will definately be using these guys again. The price was great and the quality was there. Ill be using them again. I recommend them. A
I was very unhappy with my one and only Winkflash experience. The web site is clumsy and cumbersome to use. Uploading photos is horrendously slow and often fails, especially if you do anything more than 50 MB at a time. Anyone that takes even moderate resolution photos knows that 50 MBs is not many photos! The Winkflash photo uploader recommends uploading no more than 200 MB at a time, but even when I tried 75 MB the uploads repeatedly failed. It was very time consuming to sit there and upload 50 MB at a time. It seemed to be uploading at 50-100 KB per second. After all this frustration I had issues with my order when it arrived. Customer service replied very quickly to my 3 attempts to discuss the situation with them, sometimes within an hour, but the replies were short and seemed to be copied and pasted. My questions and concerns were not specifically addressed at all. Dealing with customer service was not a pleasant experience. The quality of the items and prints I ordered was average. Not bad but not impressive either. I give them credit for printing and shipping the items quite fast, but at somewhat high shipping costs. I will not be using Winkflash again.
Winkflash photo prints are pretty good. The printed books are okay but they have a visible halftone dot pattern.
The problem with Winkflash is mostly with photo transfer. They once had a great service for those of us with slow internet connections and limits on bandwidth: you could put your photos on a CD or DVD disk and mail them, and they would end up in your account! But some dummy over there took away that service, so now instead of buying prints every month, I now can only afford (from a bandwidth perspective) to upload a few photos at xmas time.
They also had an economical and high quality spiral bound winkbook in 4x6 or 3x5 sizes that were cheap enough to give away as presents. Just group some photos and they would get bound into a neat little book! But some dummy, maybe the same one that got rid of the photo transfer on disk, also got rid of that service. Shame on winkflash!
The website is pretty crappy in terms of user interface, especially if you want to transfer from a mac. No iPhoto plugin. If the FTP craps out in the middle of a transfer, it doesn't keep the files that were sent, you have to START OVER. This is really annoying if you have dial up or bandwidth quotas.
The quality of the photo prints is good. The price is okay. The shipping rates are so-so. But the crappy user interface, unreliability of transfer, and the defunct service of transfer via CD disk are all negatives. I use to be a big user, and would be again if they restored their sanity and re-instituted the core services, and brought back the winkbooks. I used sony image station before winkflash. The transfer part of that now defunct site was great compared to Winkflash. But the prices were not great and Sony would crop photos in some stupid ways without permission.
I am starting a small photography business and have printed a couple orders with winkflash and they arrived great. So I decided to place a larger quantitiy and that when things went sour. I placed an order of 98 wall placques, which took a long time to do, I received confirmation that they were in production. After some time, I called to track the order and Customer service said that they could only print 50 of the 98 and they didn't know when the next shipment would be in. I told them to print the first 50 of my order and they said they couldnt so that. I had to start over and only have 50 in my shopping cart for them to start the order! So here I went redoing the order. Then I got a call that they ran out of flat edges and would I like beveled. I said no and they told me that they didnt know when I would get my order. I asked to speak to mamgement and they said I had to email someone at Corporate. So I did and they wrote back saying they only receive 50 plaques month and that's all they will keep in inventory a month. I told them that I could give them orders of 200+ a month and they just said "sorry." Can you believe a company would not like to grow their business. Very frustrated because they know they have the market with these plaques. I cannot find another company that can pprint high quality photos on flat edge plaques. If anyone knows please let me know. Until then, I am a frustrated customer of Winkflash. Everytime an order comes to my house I hold my breath because if there is something wrong with it I have to deal with the terrible customer service of Winkflash
Small Company Almost Ruined by Winkflash
My experiences with Winflash until my last order has been good. I started to trust them as a viable quality, low cost printer. Everything was good until I trusted them with my company's reputation. I own a very small design company and was contracted to create customer posters for a local high school's sports banquet (one of the largest and well known high schools in the area). It was my opportunity to make a name for myself.
I made sure that I got my order in a week and a half before the banquet, plenty of time I thought. Well, it was plenty of time for half my order. Winkflash printed and shipped half my posters. How does that happen? Since I still had two days before the banquet, I called them and asked them to expedite the printing of the remaining posters and then overnight them to me. When the customer service rep was no help, I asked to talk to a manager. I was literally told that management does not take phone calls, only emails. I was also told that once I emailed management, I would be given a response within 24 hours. Since this was half the time I had left, I told them that was not acceptable. I needed to talk to them immediately and get this problem resolved.
I told them I was a loyal customer and that I thought this could be a chance for them to shine. Every company makes mistakes and if they corrected the error and got the posters to me the next day (overnight delivery) that I would proclaim them to the world for their great response to a problem. No such luck. Management did email me back but said they don't ship overnight.
I had to scramble to find a local printer that could fulfill my order and had to pay through the nose to do it. Needless to say, it was almost a total disaster for me and my small company.
I do not recommend you use this company due to their inadequate customer service
Answer: I am astonished anyone would rely on a photo processing company to store their photos except for the purpose of printing them. You deleted them from your computer? When I download photos, I copy them to my wife's computer and two external hard drives, one of which is kept offsite. I do not trust "the cloud".
Answer: My suggestion would be to get your photo's out of Winkflash as quickly as possible. Why are you messing with that company? Why wouldn't you use a more reputable and trustworthy site such as Shutterfly? Haven't you read the reviews of Winkflash? Winkflash did not do right by many people who patronized their site for years when they chose not to tansfer years and years of stored photo's when new ownership took place. That was completely inexcusable for the previous owners as well as the new owners. The new owners should have secured all the photo servers when acquiring the company.
Answer: I also do not know the prior owners, but I've been told the window of time for the new owners to convert old images was very slim. I too am so very sad to lose them since 2004.
