Worst warranty ever! Our KitchenAid fidge stopped making ice and then the freezer stopped cooling. I spent 2 hours on hold with the warranty number and they sent out a technician a month later. He only came out to evaluate the issue and order parts. He scheduled an appointment 6 weeks later to fix it. I asked him what to do for a freezer till its fix and he told me to go rent one. After paying $3500 for the fridge a year ago, he wants me to rent a fridge. The seal for the fridge was on back order so they rescheduled an appointment a month later to fix my freezer even though they had the parts to fix it. This will make 3 months since my freezer stopped working.
UNACCEPTABLE!
Last month we purchased a Whirlpool WTW5057LW to replace our GE 5 year old washer. This was not a low end or top end model, so we expected a reasonable level of quality. We purchased from Home Depot and had them install it.
The installation went fine. When we washed our first load we noticed a "Clunking" noise as well as a louder operating noise than our old GE unit. Whirlpool sent a tech out. He did not find anything wrong, he explained that it was designed in a way that this noise was normal. Nothing was wrong.
My wife and I could hear the clunking and loud operating noise from the laundry room with the door closed. This isn't acceptable. I spoke with Whirlpool asking them to replace this with another model (even at my expense). They refused. I then contacted Home Depot and asked them to replace with a different model, again offering to pay any difference. They refused.
I use to like Whirlpool products, however, it seems as though their cost cutting in products have created cheaper products with less customer satisfaction. Their attitude on customer support certainly reflects they do not care to try and support their customers.
As a result of this unfortunate experience and expens, e I do not plan to purchase major appliances from Home Depot or Whirlpool going forward.
I hope this helps you if you find yourself making a buying decision on a washer.
DO NOT BUT WHIRLPOOL! NOT ONLY is their service ridiculously slow. They do not stand behind their product. My freezer is a year old in a week and it has been phone call after phone call trying to get it exchanged, refunded, or repaired. I have just learned a refund is not possible because it was bought from Lowes. They have looked for parts now for 6 months. Obviously the part is not out there. The product review team was supposed to contact me, which they did not. At every turn, they have failed to correspond by the allotted time which forced me to reach out to them again and again. Not I am told the exchange team will reach out to me within 24-48 hours. IF they do, it will be the first time they have done what they said they would do. I am very unhappy with whirlpool. Regardless of what they do, I will never purchase another whirlpool product.
Horrendous customer service. This is NOT the whirlpool that once sold quality products and had excellent customer service. Bought a freezer, within a couple of months, it broke. Lost $3000 worth of meat. They have sent repair over several times and will not exchange it. Disgusting. Neither me nor my large family will ever purchase another whirlpool product.
I bought a brand-new Whirlpool, mid-range clothes dryer. It takes hours on high to dry a mid-sized load and this is in the very dry climate of NM. My clothes dry faster on the clothesline. I have to break apart loads and dry no more than 10 items at a time, and it still takes 1.5 hours on high. I can't dry jeans or sweatshirts. Basically I use my clothesline or hang things on doors, so the dryer was a complete waste of money. The attached picture shows a load in a standard-sized laundry basket which I dried 3 times over, about 2.5 hours, and the clothes are still damp.
BUYER BEWARE! Worst large purchase experience ever on Whirlpool.com! Whirlpool Customer Service could market their skills for psychological torture to the military! I had a perfectly working 17 year old refrigerator. I purchased a new one as I deal with severe health & energy issues & wanted to avoid any problem. What I got instead was MY $900 NIGHTMARE! Person who installed my refrigerator argued about reversing the doors (part of what I paid for & required in my tiny galley kitchen). I insisted to he completely ruined my refrigerator & left the refrigerator door so damaged it is only partly sealed. I made 4 calls to Customer Service, then Repair Service, then back to Customer Service on Friday. There was no help whatsoever from the screen readers. I was told if I have the door repaired then I can't return & replace it even though it has a large blackened scratch on the interior. However, for the return/reorder the item was backordered & could take 4-6 weeks! Then everything was closed for the weekend & I was left with my unsafe food. After hours of getting no help at all I was sick and in tears all weekend. I called the delivery company directly myself yesterday and they sent someone out to try & adjust the door. The installer f*cked it up so much it cannot be adjusted or corrected at all. He told me he would document & I needed a new refrigerator immediately. I received an email from their website Saturday that the refrigerator is back in stock. Five or more phone calls today to Whirlpool to try to expedite the delivery since MY REFRIGERATOR DOOR DOESN'T FULLY SEAL. Still unresolved at this point. I have been a loyal Whirlpool customer for over 30 years. NEVER AGAIN!
You cant keep it clean no matter what. It streaks, it smears, you have to use a razor, special cleaner and a soft cloth even after boiling water. Purchase something else.
Whirlpool doesn't stand behind their their product they're full of s***. Don't buy from whirlpool! If I could have gave it no stars I would have, doesn't even deserve one star! #$@
My machine stopped working within a few years of purchase. The customer care team was not bothered about my complaint. They were not ready to replace or repairs the machine.
I bought a whirpool microwave recently and it has worked well so far with even reheating and defrosting in particular. The only issue I have is that it just doesn't look nor sound like it was well made with quality materials. I'm not sure where it was manufactured (most likely china) but it looks cheap and it doesnt sound sturdy when your opening and closing the door. I only wished it felt and looked like what I had actually paid for.
A few years back I purchased a washer, dryer, refrigerator and oven from Whirlpool. All but the washer have required major repairs, totaling over $1500. Contacting the company results in sorry your stuff sucks, sorry about your luck. Stay far away from anything with the Whirlpool nameplate.
I bought a whirlpool for the 1st time in November. The salesman recommended it, and $600.00 was not the bottom of the line.
4 months later it stopped cleaning the dishes. Called pc Richards, I purchased the warranty. They replaced the sensor panel. Still doesn't work. Ordered a motor & pump, I've been waiting a week for the parts to come in. It's been a month now. I am a person who uses my dishwasher everyday. I am frustrated & disappointed in the customer service, from both companies. It's not right.
Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid and Amana may be household names, but customer service is horrible and has been so over the years. In fact, in their infinite DisWisdom, upper management has done away with their ultimate escalations department.
We recently purchased six appliances for kitchen and laundry room within one week, for required a service call.
The part necessary to divert excessive cold air from the refrigerator apartment and keep refrigerated foods from ruining is not available.
Customer this service supervisor, Shawn, did not follow through with his promised phone call back. So far, the replacement refrigerator is not happening.
Perhaps upper management should be more concerned with facilitation, rather than their spouses demands for creature comforts!
Beware!
My husband ordered a Downdraft Range Hood, Item #*******, Model #UXD8636DYS, which was picked up on approximately 10/3/17.My home was under renovation at that time and when the contractor attempted to install the unit in early December, it was discovered that it was defective.
Fields Appliance was subsequently called in to do the warranty work and ordered the necessary screws on two occasions, but both times were sent the wrong part. Upon ordering the parts for the THIRD TIME, they have now been informed that the screws are on indefinite backorder. This is in addition to the motor, which was replaced on the first service call. Because the original motor type was not available, Fields had to replace it with a different motor, resulting in the cover for the motor not fitting and therefore not being installed.
They were unable to obtain that part either, so even if they manage to find the correct screws, the motor will not be properly covered, likely resulting in more problems in the future. I called Whirlpool and requested a replacement unit. After over an hour on the phone and speaking with four different representatives, Whirlpool has still refused to replace this defective unit that has never worked and will never be right because the original parts are no longer available. It is clear that Whirlpool does not stand behind their products.
The sheer volume of complaints against them should convince anyone against purchasing their products. They will never get another cent of my family's money.
I purchased a new Gold series Top of the line dishwasher on Sept 9 2016 at a Sears Outlet that I have purchased 2 other appliances from and were happy with the products. About may of 2017 I began to notice that the machine was not doing the job it did when new. I checked inside to see of anything was not as it should be or debris. I contact whirlpool in June 2017 As the machine did have a warranty for 1 year. Of course the one and only receipt of purchase I did not have as they were saying the machine was out of warranty because it was purchased in Sept 2015.? I called Sears and they were stellar about the issue and as a good faith measure they sent out a technician. Flamingo Appliance a certified company for whirlpool. The tech arrived with a laptop computer and stood there with the lap top assessing what what wrong with my machine. He told me the 2 things I needed was using a rinse aide and that it was not getting hot water. I have a solar panel that produces 195 degree water and had not changed any pipes or heaters that it used new. He gave me some samples of soap with a rinse aide built in and left. I called whirlpool back they insisted on the machine was purchased in 2015. I called sears and they told me to go to the Sears Outlet and I could get a receipt. In the mean time I called the Appliance Connection a company I have been happy with Their techs arrived got on his knees opened the door of the machine and started to inspect the filter then he found that the bottom sprayer was not on properly. Then he checked the top sprayer and it was hitting my dinner plates and not being able to move. As it turns out the machine top rack was adjustable and some how got lowered. Both he and I had to search as to find how to raise the rack we did. I was charged $50.00. I gladly payed it as the machine was back to its great cleaning with out rinsing each dish or pot or plate. In the mean while Whirlpool told me that Sears purchased a lot of products in 2015 and even though it was new and purchased in 2016 receipt in hand They would not reimburse me the $50.00 for the repair or simple issues had the fist tech should have done. These appliances as my new gas stove and Washing machine and this dish washer will be the last of my purchases of whirlpool products. This whole ordeal went on for 2 weeks and hours on the phone trying to get service. I applaud Sears and their outlet for doing they best they could to help me. SHAME ON YOU WHIRLPOOL!
I have purchased washing machine, refrigerator, oven for me and for my relatives. The quality of whirlpool products are very good. I am totally satisfied with after sale service.
Bought a Maytag dishwasher the failed in six months. They provided a one year warranty but no support on that warranty after 4 weeks. First call to get support they schedule us for a repair three weeks out on Thanksgiving Day when the repair contractor wasn't working.
Can't get a straight answer on when anything will happen or when we might actually see some sort of repair.
As far as i knew the whirlpool company washing machines are the world's best washing machines because of the quality and also there are various types of washing machines are available based on the user's needs they can choose the type of washing machine they needed at moderate cost.
Answer: I've called 1st thing in the morning and gotten through w/in 12 minutes at other times have waited between 1 and 2 hours. You read that correctly and it's not an exaggeration. I've spoken w/ professional, empathetic CSRs and unprofessional ones and none with the authority to respond outside of a narrow script. Supervisor s will not talk to customers (even if the problem has not been resolved after 4 months.) Customer Service is the number 1 reason NOT to buy a Whirlpool product!
