Tried to set up my online banking after getting a new account. The only way to verify my ID was text message but for some reason Wells Fargo texts are not making it to me. All other texts make it fine. There is NO OTHER OPTION to verify my account? They cant call my # with a verification code, they cant send a verification email. It MUST be a text which i cant get. So no i must go to a Branch in person with two forms of ID. Got to the branch and waited 30 min before someone could help me. Then it was not clear how to resolve my issue. So they basically did the same thing i did... call customer service. So they created an account for me but could not give me a temporary password because they were too busy. So i go home, and click "forgot password" using the new userid they provided me. Guess, what it needs to verify me with a TEXT! Which of course doesnt make it to my phone. Got through that with a phone call but now every time i want to use my account i need to go through this. Finally i tried to set up two factor authentication to secure my account hoping i could use a commonly available authentication apps like google authenticator or PING. Guess what, there are only two options. TEXT MESSAGE! (which i cant get), or order a RSA Hardware token that i must carry with me at all times if i want to use it. Why cant i use my own authenticator app like other banks i deal with.

Sorry for the rant. Please consider using another bank for your needs. Once i collect the rewards i was promised for the new account. I will be closing this one never to return.

WORST BANK EVER
April 1, 2022

Literally the worst bank I've ever had to deal with! They never know where you need to be transferred! They constantly lock me out my own account and I'm on the phone for hours trying to get it unlocked! I left this bank 4 months ago and STILL have problems.

I was on hold for more than 1 hour. My previous balance was 25 hundreds and when I made a check deposit of 18k they put it on hold and resulted a 15k negative balance to my account. This is the 2nd time they put me on hold this morning.

The only reason im a wells Fargo customer is that they bought out my local bank, and i cant get my mortgage moved to another bank, they have cut there hours that there banks are open, there interest rates are the lowest of all banks on savings and deposits, the local branches are closed on weekends so if i need to do business with them i have to drive 40 miles to the nearest open branch, im so disgusted with there lack of customer care, when i call to complain i get blah blah blah were sorry, wells Fargo is only thinking about themselves and there profits.if at all possible please take your business some place else like you local credit union or and online bank.

I deal with other banks with checking & savings accounts and credit cards. Most are very easy and don't require what WF does. My credit rating is over 800, no problems. I tried to open a checking acct online, wouldn't go through, more ID, and in person. Got denied their credit card. So they lost a potential good customer. I don't need them. Other customer friendly banks are Citi, Discover, Chase, Ally, etc. I had an easier time and background check getting a Top Secret Clearance! There are 2 local branches that have 1 star ratings. Stay away?

They not only deposited $9000 of my money in someone else's account but they said it was a common occurrence. And I have yet to get my money back because it's a 'process' even though I have all documentation. Not happy

WF Absolute worst!
March 17, 2022

Mobile deposited check, received a email next day saying it would be a 7 day business hold on check, took check to local branch to verify, manager just states system failed to collect last night when it attempted, asked to elaborate kept repeating the exact sentence. Been a 3 yr customer with deposits averaging 8-10k monthly, needless to say I've had other situations with this bank with getting cash, I'll cancel all accounts within the next week!

Nothing this company does actually counts as a service. There is nothing convenient about them, they do not stand out in any positive way whatsoever, and they literally steal from their own customers

Horrible customer service and bank policies. I double pay the minimum, which is very high anyway, and I reduced it to the minimum but didn't realize that it takes time to process, which doesn't make sense so they took me to collection because of their stupid policy for being 10 days late—customer with them since day one and on time payment always. I have been unhappy with them since day one and should have switched but stuck out to pay my balance. No respect to customers for customer service or executive branch. Can't say enough how horrible they are.

Don't Expect Wells to help with Identity Theft
February 27, 2022

I've been a Well Fargo customer for 20 years. Identity thieves requested customer service to send an extra credit card to an abandon building where they picked up the card and used it. I have had this happen twice in 60 days and Wells Fargo's response was "we can't protect you". The identity thieves have my birthdate and last 4 digits of my SSN. Let me share the ways in which I tried to protect my account...

1)Asked Wells if I could control any of the security questions they ask. No
2)Asked if they could put an alert flag on my account. No
3)Asked if I could set up a verbal password. Was told they don't do this anymore
4)Set up my account with voice authorization, but deliberately failing the check didn't help
5)Changed the address on my account and gave the wrong address to the agent. Didn't help.
6)Escalated issue to Mary Mack's office (head of consumer banking). An executive assistant (Seth) was assigned to find a solution. After 10 days sent me a letter that told me to go a branch to set up a verbal password. The letter forced the local branch to set the password up. Then called into customer service and they never asked for my password. The password isn't visible to the credit card group.
7)A very helpful local banker (Diane) spent multiple days with me on the phone trying to add a password to the credit card side of the bank. No success.
8)Circled back to Mary Mack's office. No response to my reporting that their "verbal password" solution didn't work.

I am helpless against these identity thieves and Wells Fargo can't do a thing to protect me. Do business with this bank at your own peril.

Wells Fargo allowed Dell Technologies to make fraudulent charges to my debit card and did nothing to resolve the issue. Wells Fargo can not be trusted with your money. Please be very, very careful with this company I highly suggest Bank of America or a Credit Union over Wells Fargo, if you want your funds protected. I reported Wells Fargo and am not surprised to learn of all the legal action taken by customers against this company.

I have been a customer for over 10 years and Wells Fargo is horrible in customer service and fees or ridiculous! They will keep allowing things to charge on your account without notification and allowed someone to open a account online in my name! With I had to do a fraud alert on my credit for. I'm over them trying to steal money from me with all there fees and have switch over to a credit union at this point! Very disappointed I gave them so many times to fix so many of these issues. I would not recommend to anyone to bank with them at all!

What Customer Service
February 21, 2022

My paycheck was deposited last Friday there was a hold put on it, it is now Monday night they told me there was a problem on payrolls end so I finally got ahold of someone there they checked and found no problems on thier end or the third party the funds go through. I was also told by Wells Fargo they see the funds are there but there is a hold on it, then I get an email telling me the hold actually came from Wells Fargo even though I was told earlier it was not and the funds were there! Iam 2,500 miles from home and have zero dollars left because they also cleaned out the last of the money I was counting on until my first payday woth this new company. I just keep getting the run around and its all pointing back to Wells Fargo, they are also telling me its going to " hopefully" be cleared up by 3-8-2022 NOW WHAT THE HELL DO I DO!

Do Not use Wells Fargo if you can if you can at all avoid it.

I chose Wells Fargo as the bank for the small business that I am opening in town. After opening an account as a first step I then went on to set up my business and integrate my banking information into all my e-commerce platforms and client accounts. When we went to open our business this month Wells Fargo had for some reason closed our account without notification. We got no written notification, no email notification, and no phone call of any kind.

When I went to resolve the issue at the bank I was told that there was no way to open the account back up again. Evidently the Wells Fargo fees had put the account in the negative by THREE DOLLARS so they closed the account. It will now take us months to set up a new account and integrate the banking information across our platforms and our clients. This is months that our staff will not be getting paid simply because Wells Fargo fees put the account in the negative by THREE DOLLARS while we were in our startup phase.

DO NOT use Wells Fargo if you are a small business. They do not care about small, locally run companies. You won't even get the courtesy of a single phone call to resolve a problem. I had used Wells Fargo for various businesses since the 90s but I will never use this bank again for any reason. Avoid them at all costs.
