Wayfair has stolen my money from a canceled order and refuses to return MY $251.20. I canceled an order within minutes of placing it because I saw that when I checked out with Paypal, I was overcharged (the amount Paypal charged me was higher than my Wayfair shopping cart invoice that was passed through to Paypal). Wayfair NEVER REFUNDED MY MONEY FOR THE CANCELED ORDER. After I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, Wayfair sent me emails trying to create a false paper trail of my not responding to them (which I have, repeatedly); they blame Paypal, Paypal blames Wayfair. This is FRAUD. Do not purchase from Wayfair.
We purchased 2 chairs from Wayfair for $345.99 each. Two days later we received confirmation that they had shipped. On the bottom of that same confirmation was an advertisement noting that the chairs are now reduced to $295.99 each. The $100.00 difference on the two chairs is not a small amount to ignore so we contacted Wayfair. We were told by the representative and again by her "supervisor" that Wayfair does not price match and that they couldn't do anything about it. We explained that the chairs in question were manufactured by the same company and the company we purchased them from was still Wayfair so this is not price matching. They insisted they couldn't do anything. When we said we would just refuse them upon delivery they explained that we would be charged $23.00 plus change each for shipping and handling. Will never buy from Wayfair again.
What a poorly designed site experience. Products show up in my search as being on sale and offered to be sold, but when clicking into the item further, it reads "Out of Stock". I went through countless items until I finally gave up. What an amazingly horrible shopping experience. I'd yell to them to get their site fixed, but now that I'm reading other customers reviews on their poor shipping practices and lack of customer service, I think I'll steer clear.
Wayfair have since contacted me and a very helpful manager has resolved the situation but without admitting liability which slightly sticks in the craw but at least I have a satisfactory conclusion
Beware of wayfair "clearance" items because I doubt that they actually exist, recently they accepted my payment for a so called clearance sofa then 4 days later simply cancelled the order and expect me to now pay full price for the same item that is still available to buy.
No apologies no explanation not even an email
Very poor customer service on the telephone when I called to complain from a operator that talked to me like it was them doing me a favour.
Stay clear this is sharp business practice
I ordered a chest and it arrived with cracked glass on March 30th, 2020. I still haven't received my replacement chest after 3 phone calls to Wayfair. It's now April 17,2020. I still do not have my replacement chest. Wayfair is happy about taking your money and will wait over 2 weeks before they attempt to send out the furniture. Then it takes another 2 weeks before it arrives. I have purchased other items of furniture and it's always a problem. I'm finished with Wayfair.
I placed an order 5 days ago of $1009 and two of my items went down in cost by $100! Obviously will never shop here again..
I ordered my product(which was a hamster cage) and I got it because it said that it would arrive in 4 days... the day before it was supposed to be here it said it went on back order! If you don't have enough of it or it's gonna take longer then don't say it's gonna arrive on a certain day! Getting my money back!
I bought 1 on wayfair and then bought 2 more, I love it so much. Easy to hand and they look GREAT! WORTH THE MONEY!
Just got my first order from wayfair and while I'm content with the towels I received, I am EXTREMELY disappointed about the small end table I ordered. It was CHEAPLY MADE and the legs were made of plastic. And it cost me $43.99! For a cheap partial board table. They make everything look nice in photos, but a lot of it is a lie. Additionally, when I went to return it, they're not even giving me a full refund! They're taking shipping out of what I paid, so they still keep some of my money which is complete BS! They're charging $11.59 for return shipping! And they're the big company! They mark up some cheap furniture and act like they're giving you a good deal, but are ripping you off and scamming you and then don't give your own money back to you. I can get a table like the one they're selling for less than $20 at a Family Dollar. This is ridiculous. I do NOT recommend this company and will be taking my business elsewhere! And I will be sure to tell my friends about this. Wayfair, you did NOT have what I need. (Same table d'or much cheaper at Home Depot even! And Amazon where you can get two! Same brand as well!)
Reading all of the negative reviews, I sometimes think that it's just the luck of the draw. I have purchased seventeen items from Wayfair since September, including dining room furniture, lighting, stools and rugs, and my experiences have been pretty good. Delivery was as promised and the products met my expectations. This week, on Monday, I received a small round rug that had been ordered the prior week and it was damaged. On Tuesday I filed a claim online and the replacement arrived on Wednesday. Only four stars since one larger area rug was folded instead of rolled and I'm still working out the creases.
First purchase from WAYFAIR and NEVER again. I have been searching FOREVER for an area rug and thought I found the perfect combo with blue and burgundy. Well, the rug arrived today and the "burgundy" is BRIGHT HOT PINK! I called to return the item and I was told I will be charged a $24.95 return shipping fee. I tried to explain that I felt as though their advertising of the rug was misleading because I would have never ordered a HOT PINK rug. I basically was told too bad that the picture is clear online showing the rug is hot pink. Mind you the rug was only $104 so I have to pay almost 25% of the purchase price to send the product back. Here is a screenshot of their aid and two pictures of the actual rug... *Sigh* So buyers beware when you purchase from wayfair, terrible customer service only out for the $$$$$
There is no reason to shop on Wayfair. I have bought 1-2 things from them that were perfectly fine and arrived fairly quickly. However, my negative experiences far outweigh the positive ones and at this point I give up.
Here is why you should avoid them:
1) Most of the things they sell can be purchased elsewhere and you will likely receive a better price, faster shipping and better return service if necessary. The trick is to find the item as Wayfair will name it something different than say Amazon, but its definitely worth searching on Amazon (or Target or anywhere really) based on the description of the item as opposed to the made up brand name.
2) Shipping is usually very slow - Wayfair basically sends the order on to the manufacturer or wholesaler and takes a cut. They might take many weeks to ship.
3) Returns are almost never free. To their credit, at least a refund is usually issued as soon as the item hits the mail.
4) They no longer let you review products. There are reviews that appear but if you try to leave your own you can't.
5) Customer service is horrible. You can't e-mail them. Their chat bot is completely useless.
6) A lot of the items they sell is simply junk and is not well described. I have received some items whose quality is borderline offensively poor, but one would not know based on the price and "reviews".
In short, yes they have a huge selection, but do your research and buy elsewhere if possible
Awful awful awful. If I could give no stars I would. I ordered my wardrobe on 30th December. It was £269.99 so not a cheap piece of furniture! It was due to be delivered around 3 weeks later. The delivery day came and I hadn't received a text with my slot as they had said I would on the confirmation email. I rang to ask and the member of staff said that there had been an issue in the warehouse and it hadn't even been dispatched yet (from France). I would have been waiting in all day had I not rang them, they never informed me. The wardrobe then arrived around a week later and her started building. It took around 3 hours to build, however I knew that it was a lengthy build process from the reviews before I purchased so I didnt mind. We finally came to the door and realised when unpackaging them that the mirror on one of the panels was cracked. I rang and asked for a replacement. They said this would take another 3 weeks and they couldn't fast track this for me in any way. I was annoyed but accepted this. The replacement part arrived around 3 weeks later and this time the mirror was absolutely shattered. I ring again and express how annoyed I am and tell the member of staff how long I have been waiting for this issue to be resolved. She tells me that she will order another replacement and will request a fast track but cannot promise anything. The replacement part arrived around 3 weeks later (not fast tracked) and all of the wood is damaged and bashed around the edges. This is now the beginning of March (2 MONTHS LATER)! We have managed to make it work so that you can't see the damaged areas and that they are hidden. I shouldn't have to accept a damaged/faulty item but I am because I cannot wait another 3 weeks for what will mostly like be another damaged replacement part and I cannot ask to return the wardrobe as it's all built now and took us so long to build in the first place. I was never offered any reimbursement or discount (not that I would ever use this appaling company again), however it would have been something at least for them to offer... And to top it off I have several damaged mirrors to dispose of because the delivery driver will not take them with him. Avoid like the plague!
Don't buy ANYTHING from this company!
I ordered 5 things all of which were put on hold as a security measure (despite Wayfair confirming over the phone money had reached them from my account), I then had to send screen shots of my bank statement which I felt really uncomfortable with, eventually I got the items taken off hold but Wayfair didn't actually remove the hold so all items were then late by a week.
One went out of stock during the hold period so I cancelled it and two of the items had parts missing.
I phoned asking for replacement parts and was told they would arrive in 4 days but the confirmation email says they are expected 29 days from now. They are useless!
There's also no one you can speak to who can actually do anything about this. It's "company policy" to be maddening unhelpful and totally incompetent it seems.
DO NOT BUY ANYTING FROM WAYFAIR!
I tried to get a line of credit for the company that I work for and they require my personal SS number. I called them and was told that they have a business line of credit and I shouldn't have to do that, but they kept connecting me to the same automated phone system and nobody I spoke to gave two... ts and it wasted 40minutes of my productivity. It's really the apathy and the unfriendly navigation of the website that is so aggravating. I'm sure that dealing with them for returns or other issues is equally as frustrating, time consuming and fruitless. I'm out.
I just would like everyone to know that Wayfair is awesome. Their customer service rep Matt was great! He handled my request so quick & easy!
I shop a lot online since I am in a wheelchair & this was such a great experience, I had to write about iit
Wayfair renames merchandise and sells them for more money than other sites. Due diligence is required because you will wind up paying anywhere from 25% to 40% more for the same merchandise. Somehow this legal.
I was mislead on 3 pc. Sofa. Shown in stock. I ordered in Jan. Then they placed me in back order Status. 3 times. Comes from China now said wont get untill May. Forget it. I could of got great deals on sofas elsewhere, and had my sofa by superbowl. Waste of my time and big inconvience.
Ordered a filing cabinet but kept on sending just a shelf 2x. Waited for almost 3 months for an item that never arrived! Poor customer service and delivery! No resolution. Never again.
3 weeks ago I bought what the Wairfair website said was a fireplace tv stand as a "guest" at checkout. What was delivered to my house was a tv stand with only shelves. I called to replace the shelves tv stand for the fireplace, which the sister-company Joss & Main instructed me to just purchase the fireplace on THEIR website, which I did, they also said they had sent me the refund form for the shelves, once I printed the tags to return the shelves, I realized they didnt have the right information to refund me for this purchase because it was a "guest" account, they were going to refund the purchase to some random card number, after battling on the phone and through countless emails with them about this the last 3 weeks, I have come to the conclusion I am now the owner of BOTH tv stands because they cant seem to get their system to show the correct info, therefore telling me its MY fault this all happened and I will not get refunded for the product that was incorrectly sent to me. I will never purchase from Wayfair or Joss & Main again. I do not recommend you do either.
Answer: Ive ordered several things and I believe they've all had pictures on outside- sorry.
Answer: No, they will take returns, but you pay fees. As for poor quality, I guess we just swallow it.
Answer: From my experience, this is company is to be avoided. Sounds like your life will be hectic enough for awhile so you don't need additional stress. Buy elsewhere is my advice.
Answer: Need to call Customer Service ( a/k/a Customer Disservice) about any issue. Expect to be disappointed, but they may honor it. Best to avoid Wayfair in the future.
Answer: Suggest calling Customer Service aka Customer disservice. A word of advice: buy elsewhere; anywhere else. This Co. Just does not care.
Answer: Obviously their mission to become popular has worked. They don't need to be a good company anymore. They will take the money and run. When the time is right, they will close up shop and reopen with a new name. It is hard to find a business with integrity anymore.
Answer: Stay away. They do not follow up to make things right concerning your order.
Answer: Call customer service (aka customer disservice). This company should be avoided. Deal with a reputable Co like Amazon or its partners, They care.
Answer: I wouldn't order anything big from Wayfair. I had to order the same product 3 times, and each time, the product was damaged. Wayfair rhymes with nightmare for a reason.
