You get better rates from your friendly pawn shop, and they don't charge you a monthly fee. Just because it has Walmart's name on it won't cut it.

Been with Wal-Mart money card for over 15 years. 2 weeks ago someone somehow made an ATM withdrawal without my cards or pin. I called WMC and told them what was going on and filed a dispute and was denied even though I sent proof that I was over 300 miles away and no one but me and my wife have cards or have the pin. I called and opened a dispute a second time and before my paperwork got there they closed it out again. Theie customer service is horrible and they never understand what your saying due to outsourcing to India and they don't care about your money either. Lost over 300 one this but it won't happen again. I will never use WMC or anything affiliated with greendot bank ever again.

Don't expect help

If you have unauthorized charges don't expect any help from them. If charges are still pending all they'll do is give you the phone number for you to call the merchants. If, within 2 weeks, the merchant cancels the charges then you get the money back. If the money is taken by the merchant then they'll investigate the charges. I told them since I don't know anything about the charges and I didn't authorize the charges, then they are fraudulent. So instead of paying fraudulent charges then try to get the money back why not don't pay it and deal with the merchant disputing them? Nope, the cardholder means nothing to Walmart Moneycard. They don't care if fraudulent charges leave you broke, they'll just give your money to anyone even after being told it's fraudulent.

First of all they lost my 1200 stimulus they said they investigated it and denied my claim and also they wouldn't let me change my address on my account. Recently there have been alot of duplicate charges and random charges that aren't mine. So now I was disputing a charge, and after that there was a random$75 charge. Next thing I know I can't access my account. I spent a whole day trying to get ahold of these people. Hours waiting for someone to get on the phone, they transferred me over and over and hung up on me. So what they are saying is they can't unlock my account that they locked without talking to me. They said they are going to send me a check for the amount left in my account. They are doing some shady stuff. They have all my personal information. I don't know what to do the check is going to take 2-3 weeks they say. I now can't pay my rent or buy food. Nothing! They locked me out of my account! After pressing ok the app closes. I can't touch my money. These people are scammers there are so many lawsuits against them/ green dot bank and Go bank they are all run by the same people

Worst card I have ever purchased.

This is by far the worst card I have ever purchased. This is the worst customer service I have ever had to deal with. I bought a card from Wal-Mart loaded 267 dollars on it. Tried to register the card after about 4 hours I got ahold of someone learned that someone had already registered my card before I ever used it. So like everyone else I sent a email of my purchasing and loading receipt I disputed this they told me that I could not get my money back. I loaded almost 300 dollars on this card ever even git to register it money was taken from it. Getting ahold of someone customer service was almost impossible. This is a $#*!ing fraud. If I had any money I would go after them legally. I have read many disputes and am surprised that no one has gone after them illegally. This card is a $#*!ing joke and is not secure at all. I have never ever been so frustrated in my life.

I had my 401k deposited and they blocked my account. They said they had review this and I needed to send a picture I'd. The account they tell you to do this on doesn't work. I called to find out what to do and was given the wrong email. I called back they gave me the correct one. I called today to see if they got it. They said it was supposed to be front and back. I was never told that. They have stole my money and won't give it back.

I purchased this card for my BEST FRIENDS birthday without giving it a second thought, when I gave him the card he registered it and tried to buy a radiohead vinyl record for 25 dollars. He couldn't do this because
Apparently you need to pay an additional $5 just to keep the account open...
Also the card rejected multiple times while buying from a record store, he ended up using his own cash.
Complete waste of money, I hope walmart gets split ends while deducting $5 dollars from an account with no money on it...

In December 2021 an attempt was made by someone to make an unauthorized purchase with my account information. This attempt was made at walmart.com. Since then, I have made at least 25 calls in an effort to get this security hold released so that I may once again purchase from walmart.com.

This is very important to me. I am 74 years old and disabled. I get paid once a month and because I don't wish to be any more of a burden to my daughter than necessary, I order my groceries once a month for curbside pickup.

Personally, if I never had to buy anything from Walmart, I'd be pleased. However, with my very limited income, the $40 to $50 I am forced to spend at any other grocery store is a real problem.

I have received NO help with this. Any efforts to move up the management ladder in an effort at resolution have been met with nothing but frustration. The customer service people, I can tell, are doing their best, but to no avail. Accents are thick and difficult to hear.

My advice is to go elsewhere.

Thieves!

I had this card 3 years. Only deposit was my Social Security check. Never an issue. I only paid my bills and groceries. Would draw money out sometimes but not a lot. Never overdrawn ever. Come January 2022 my SSI check was electrically deposit and immediately my account was closed for "fraud". Everything was in my name and social security. I spoke with several people, all in a third world country, I sent copy of my Drivers license and SSI card. Was told the account was closed for fraud and would never tell what the fraud was. Also they even refused to send my SSI check back to SSI. They kept it. BEWARE. Don't take a chance

I've used this card for years. I have had someone steal money from it but I didn't think it was because of the card itself. Reading other reviews now I'm sure the card didn't help and I was not able to get the hundreds of swollen money back. Teribke customer service. The final straw was when I attempted to buy a new car last week and was not only not allowed to spend that much of my own money but also had a lock put in my card so niw I'm not even able to pay my rent. I've spent everyday for a week now on the phone stop direct deposits from going into the account and trying to have the account closed and my money sent to me in the form of a paper check( because thats the obly way they say you can get your money sent. They will not transfer it to a different bank) I've had no luck. All my money still sits in a lock account and they keep telling me there's nothing they can do. Complete scam. Check the better business reviews as well. All horrible!

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with heck when you call on their automated system does not even have a place to talk to someone you have to scroll through and get lucky and find where it says hit a number to speak to a representative good luck with that then you finally get a hold of someone after a month of going through this problem I tried to make a purchase for $101 it got declined but Walmart deducted my $101 and it's been lost for a month and you cannot get anybody to do anything about anything they are pitiful do not get this card. Period

I have had a moneycard for over 10 years. A victim of fraud and ID theft in 2016 I limited access as best I could. I lost it all in 2016 and moving forward at my age, tough. I think sunny skies are dawning and boom the thunder of criminals strikes. Greendot staff is the worst ever. The are degrading and insulting like your an idiot on the loose. Never, and I've been here, has anyone been so extremely difficult. Like I'm the criminal and worse. Trust me at a time like this last thing you need is a smart punk in control. I assure his last concerns are you. They accepted my direct deposit after this 'dispute' I filed, which I sure did not. There was a dispute involving goggle charges Oct 21 of last year. Totally resolved with walmart out nothing. Feb 21 I get a message and when i called they were claiming I did something and inferring even worse. His only statement involved the Oct incident. A stolen phone I reported and suspended was reactivated in my name, without my knowledge. Not being strongly computer knowledge, frankly I had no clue until multiplecharges occurred. They acted like I did it myself. My phone,, my hack. Nothing even close ever occurred. Beware and find people that take care of you when something horrible occurs not turn
Against you, I'm penniless for another 8 to 10 weeks. Run... cut that. Ardup first. You deserve better

WARNING!

Walmart money card steal customers money! I have hundreds in my account and they refuse to give me my money because I am homeless with no utility bill. I worked hard for that money and they said they plan to give it to the government. NEVER BECOME A CUSTOMER WITH WALMART MONEY CARD!

Pissed off

Walmart money card is the ABSOLUTE WORST. They've blocked my card several times for no reason now they're saying i have to wait 2 business day which would be Tuesday because today is Friday. I wish i would've read the reviews first because none of them are good reviews. I've been on hold since 7 am and it's now 5:30 pm

I was recently charged 4 $15 overdraft fees in one day. I was told several times it was done in error, which it was, and that the money would be refunded in 2 days but I never received a refund. Every time I call they say I have to open a new claim that the last case was closed and they decided I was not incorrectly charged for this. I made a transaction after 6pm, and my account was brought to a positive balance in 12 hours but I was charged BEFORE the 24 hour period. They still will not give me my money back.
