I have my paycheck deposited every week to my card. I use my card for everything. Well I received a settlement check for 33 dollars and I tried to put it on my card, nope said they couldn't verify my identity, I sent them a picture of the front and back of my license. I don't really think its walmart, I think it's green dot bank who is really not a bank and they suck real bad. Ii like walmart I just wish they were backed by another bank besides gdb. The most worst bank ever.
I do not recommend, customer service is atrocious and they will do nothing to help you. Of course something that should be pretty simple becomes an absolute cluster. I wish that consumers and customers still meant something to companies.
When I call Walmart money card customer service is very hard to understand the script that they are reading the script works for maybe two questions and then that's it cuz they just keep reading the script where they left off and when you interrupt them they'll stop and go back where they to the first paragraph of where they left off to start reading the script again it's very hard to understand what they're saying they have no clue what you're talking about they just read the script and when you ask him a question or interrupt them just start reading this script again the dialect is real bad can't understand what they're saying very annoying Walmart money cards are just $#*!ing very annoying. I have freedom of speech and I will say what I want to say and it is not a false review the agents customer service are terrible they have no clue what you're talking about they're just reading the script it's not against the law to say what you feel on your mind early and written down speech I have the right
I have had my checks direct deposited on this card. My dog ate our card and my wife called to find out how we could get the money off the card. They stated you could transfer the money to another green dot card. So my wife stayed on the phone with the lady while she instructed my wife on how to do this. My wife did it as soon as it was complete within 5 minutes of getting off the phone we received an email saying our card was locked due to suspisious activity. Mind you this is the activity THEY told us to do. Then after calling back they said you have to email a copy of your license for verification. We have done that its been 3 days. They told us it would take 2. Mind you $1700 dollars of my money is locked on this card. When we call we ask to speak to fraud and they hang up on us. we ask to speak to a manger and the manager gets on we explain and they hang up on now when you log into our account it says the account is CLOSED. We have called 17 times and they continue to hang up on us and will not help us. DO NOT USE THIS CARD i do not know where my money is and their customer service is terrible you cannot call their corporate office for help there is no phone number for it. Beware of this card.
I made a purchase to online walmart on aug 22,2022 for $52.29 (school supplies). I ended up canceling my order about an hour later (before it even left the store) and I waited 2 weeks before calling them. The first time I called, I was told that someone would contact me back. Second time I called, I was told that Walmart refunded my money but my institution was holding it which is why it wasn't on my card and I had to call my institution (walmart/green dot). I called them and talked to a lady who asked for the amount, my order # and everything, said she could see the transaction and everything. She told me it should be on my card within 2 business days and that Never happened. I've called them 2x today, told them I screenshotted everything, explained the situation and was hung up on both times after being told that they don't see any transaction from aug 22nd. I told my mom about it and she said to open a bank account bc she and many others have had the same issue with that card.
I returned to the United States and needed to use a debit card. I went to Walmart and selected a debit card off the shelf. I had no problems using the card. However, there were too many fees. When I went to Walmart and added funds to the card, I was charged $3. Every month, I am charged almost $6. I have debit cards from banks that don't do this. I find the fees too much.
I can't even begin to explain how horrible this company is! My card got compromised and hacked $500 out of my account. It's been 7 days now with a run around transferring me to different departments back and forth, no answers, getting hung up on, when I ask for information the bimbos they have in customer service don't even know what they are talking about let alone you can barely understand them. I ask for my refund check update and they transfer me back and forth to customer service then disputes and still no info given. I then reach out to a lead investigator for Walmart, they investigate my account. Someone from greendot called me gave me a code then compromised my account. Now I'm out over a grand because they refuse to send my refund check while they investigate the other $500 and told me that it's not garunteed I get my money. I then contact the federal reserve then I reach out to green dot corporate and they tell me they have no access to over ride my account and send me my refund while I'm waiting on the investigation. This is pathetic! They are a scam. There's so many lawsuits on this place, and there's about to be another one! It's not my fault this company doesn't have any security on their part for loyal customers and protecting their money! Corporate was a waste of time talking to as they said they can't do anything. This is by far the worst company in the country. They are scammers, they will allow your account to be hacked then make you wait for your money that's not garunteed. I will be pressing this issue with my lawyer, this is wrongful and not good business.
They suck $#*! plain and simple. A bunch of moron foreigners who apparently don't know what they are doing. First, my card broke in half so I called customer service to order a new one and update my phone number and address. First, my card was never sent. Then I get robbed at gunpoint so I call again to order a new card and find out they still haven't updated my phone or address. I send in the documents and wait. Nothing. I call back, this time there is a restriction because I tried to login to the site but didn't remember my info. Find out a card was never mailed, nor was my address or phone updated! The man on the phone tried to blame it on the restriction but I explained there was no restriction when I had called the very first time and the second. Asked to send in more documents. Now I get to sit and wait a few days before I can call back and reorder a card I should have already gotten and none of my information has been updated yet. A bunch of total morons work on customer service!
I thought I'd switch to this card after another bank was a ittle shady in their business practices. I thought I couldn't go wrong with a WalMart card, since that is where I spend my money. WRONG! It advertises up to 4 days early payment, my direct deposit was sent out on a friday at 5 pm and it's Tuesday and no money. I have school supplies to be ordered off Amazon and will never gt the items in time for school. My last bank I had my disbursement the day after it was deposited. I'm going back to my old bank atleast I got my money from them. Walmart is letting a shady company go on, in their name and doesn't care how it's going to ruin their reputation for letting such a place with shady business practices use their name.
Got one a few weeks ago to check it out. Recommend not doing it bought the card and put the 20.00 minimum on it as a trial. Received my card activated it no money in my account. Called number on back of card no help even called Wal-Mart office in Arkansas was told it would go to management in my city and I'd hear something by the next Thursday. That was three weeks ago no word yet. Appears to be a scam to me.
This card is terrible I've used it for several years and about twice a year my money has disappeared to hackers Sure you can dispute Which is quite a process then your card is canceled about 10 days later you get a replacement.
No more Walmart card for me.

I had walmart money card for 5 years then had my account hacked... so account closed in meantime my federal refund was supposed to be deposited... this was back in March they send they returned it to irs... well I talk to irs and they say it never was returned so I call walmart money card # again they say they returned it i need to talk to irs again so I did irs claims they never returned it and now walmart money card is being invesigated!
I was the victim of online fraud using the money card and when i contacted green dot for help it was hard to get help then when i got thru they treated me like the criminal.
DO NOT BUY WAL-MART VISA CARDS!
I was given a visa card as a gift card. I was only able to l use only $14 of the $20 it said it was worth. And mind you, that was with NO HELP from WAL-MART employees! Three tried but they have no idea about their own products. One even told me that it wasn't a card from Wal-Mart which shouldn't matter since it was a Visa anyway. I showed her the Logo and said, "Isn't this WalMart?"
I just called them and they said I have a NEGATIVE $5 balance! They said I did 3 transactions in June and you're charged for each transaction. Those 3 transactions were all from 1 purchase! It wouldn't let me do $20 which was the gift card amount! So I tried $15. It wouldn't let me do that either because they had already charged me a monthly fee of $5.94 which I was unaware of. I then tried $10 which went through. Then I did $3 which went through. Then I tried $1 which went through - so $14 total.
I just cancelled the card and will shred it.
They charge a high fee ever month and it's the only card I never get my money not even a day early. I have money clearly showing been pending for over two weeks they told me they were holding another week then they will release it. Customer Service is horrible, rude and unprofessional. Once they release my money next week, I will not be using these card at all anymore. I don't recommend using this card. It is too many others that don't charge monthly fees and always give me money at least 2 days early let a lone hold it.
Because of some unusual activity I was asked to submit pictures of front & back of driver's license on website. I tried several times, but kept getting messages that pictures were blurry, and to resubmit. After several attempts, Green dot closed my account permanently with no warning.
If you're an online gamer, this debit is not for you! Six times they denied game site fees when I had more than ample funds, then charged me $1.07 each of the 6 xs for processing fees!

CALLED ON APRIL 28 ABOUT 4 PENDING CHARGES THAT I DID NOT MAKE. WAS TOLD I HAD TO WAIT TILL THEY POSTED, TRANSFERRED TO 6 DIFFERENT PEOPLE. CALLED BACK AFTER THEY POSTED APRIL 4TH SPOKE WITH FRAUD DEPARTMENT THEY PUT ME ON HOLD 1 HOUR 45 MINUTES THEY NEVER CAME BACK ON PHONE. CALLED SEVERAL MORE TIMES SINCE AND EVERYTIME I CALL THEY TELL ME TO HIVE THEM A MINUTE AND AFTER OVER AN HOUR I HANG UP... THIS BANK REFUSES TO GIVE BACK MY MONEY THEREFORE THEY HAVE STOLE MY MONEY. GOING TO GO TO WALMART CORPORATE SINCE THEY GAVE ALLOWED THIS BANK TO BE ON THEIR WAMAR CARDS.
Walmart money card program is completely unreliable. At least 1/3 of the time that you need to get into the app you cannot get the app to respond with your code to get in. Therefore if you have your car locked and you need to get into your app to unlock it so you can make a purchase there are times you will have to wait an hour to two hours to be able to finally get into your app to unlock your card to use it. You do not want this app I have used Walmart money card for over five years now and steadily within the last two years they have been going downhill and you cannot rely on them or depend on them at all.
I purchased this as a way to give my (10yr old) daughter a refillable somewhat secure card while she was on vacation with family friends. To make it refillable you have to sign up for the banking, but wait you also can only refill the bank card that nearly a year later has never arrived. It was not at the top of my priority list to replace a card we would not use. I tried to close the account as I knew there was a monthly fee, when I went to the money card website: https://www.walmartmoneycard.com/help/card-help. It listed 3 ways to close the account.
1- Spend to 0 and they would close it.
2- If you had over 22.50 in the account you could cash it out at walmart
3- receive a paper check by writing a letter.
The internet also said you could close an account through the app by going to account settings.
I tried closing it through the app with no luck, the menu pathway listed was not even in the app. I called the customer service number and there was no option to speak to anyone in fact I couldn't even advance through the menus because I needed to input the CVV code on the back of the card I never received or activated.
So I figured that they would draw the account to $0 with monthly fees and close. And honestly, it wasn't that big a deal to me to not recoup the money.
I logged on this month to make sure it was closed and found that they've drawn the account negative by 2 months of fees. This made me angry as according to their own website the account would be closed at a $0 balance. I again tried to call and found I could get through to a human if I said my card was lost and refused to pay for the replacement.
They did close my account, but I fully expect to get a ding on my credit report even though I was told there would be no such reporting. In short shady practices, not easy to close an account, do not use this card.
Answer: All 3rd world countries are desperate scammers and United States Government Allows it!
