Walmart will charge you overdraft fees even though you bring your account balance to a positive within 24 hrs. They charged me two overdraft fees and my direct deposit was on my card 14 hrs later so when they say you won't be charged overdraft fees if you bring your account balance to a positive within 24 hours of making the overdraft transaction is bull crap. I would not recommend using the overdraft protection because they will take out fees regardless of whether you are within the 24 hours or not!

My debit card expired I called several times to ensure delivery prior. The card did not arrive and was not even ordered I have no access yo my money they will not overnight the card even though they were responsible for the issue. I was hung up on even on the corporate level many times horrible service I will be closing my account and do not recommend this service

They won't change your name. Months and months of sending emails with my marriage certificate, drivers license and mailing address to them. They just keep saying they never received it. And they just keep telling you to email them the paperwork to them then they will change it. It's been 9 months since I started trying to change my last name on my account. Enough is enough I'm done with them. I can't deposit any checks by photo because my name on my account doesn't match my legal name.

I received a card completely unsolicited. It said "Your new debit card is here!" at the top. I called this company three times. I could only understand one of the three. When I asked why I had received this she said "It was a mistake, tear it up." This was not a mistake. Someone sent it to me, and had assigned me a bank number at "Green Dot Bank" (I've never heard of it). I told her that I considered it an attempt at fraud. She continued to assert that is was just a mistake. I also tried chat, and got a similar non answer. I wanted to know how I was assigned a bank account number and how was it that this card was sent to me. I was very displeased with this.

In disguise they are doing crinimal acts, there are a petition started to expose, close and hold them accountable for they crinimal distrust acts at CHANGE.ORG JOIN MR Demarrcuss in holding walmart money card accountable by signing and sharing

Rip-off outfit

Had a Walmart money card for years... no real issues until last year when my card was stolen and all access changed, thorn the troubles began.
I called to report the card stolen, they locked it up so nothing would be processed. Next issue, getting my money back that was deposited on it... heres the major issue: since the card was stolen and access changed without my consent they wanted the card number to reallow me access to the card. Problem: didn't have the card number so couldn't access the funds or get a reissue of the card. So contacted the main company- Green Dot Bank... yeah, no help there either. Finally I was told to file a fraud case and send in endless documents and proof that I was the owner of the card and history of my address locations along with photo ID. Done, well apparently that was not good enough for them since nothing ever came of it so my money was still locked up in the card. Ok, next step... contact the social security department and get help from them. Well had to call multiple times and get claim escelated so Walmart money card/green dot bank had to contact the SSA directly. Think that helped? WRONG! Still no answers from either entity about my money. So the SSA's next step, contact the treasury department. Well being who and what they are you'd think that Walmart would respond and tux the issue... nope. Just got off the phone with the SSA only to find out that even the treasury department can't retrieve my money. SO long story short, Walmart Money Card and Green Dot Bank have stolen my benefit deposit and it can not be recovered. So, I'm out money and there is nothing I can do to get it back. Think you can trust this card... think again! There are other companies who are more legit than THIS chicken $#*! outfit! The entire organization, Walmart money card-green dot bank- and Bonneville bank should all be shut down for fraud. Oh, and sueing them... can't! Stupid system just keeps you down.

Replacement card
June 11, 2021

Not giving any stars. I reported my card lost on June 4th. I did a chat session and was told it would be 7 to 10 days to receive my new card. I then asked if it's possible to get any funds from account. I use this for direct deposit and was told I can't do anything until my card comes. On June 10th I spoke with someone who said my card hadn't been sent out yet. So 6 days after I reported it still not mailed. Now I'm told I should get it on the 17th. That's two weeks and three weeks pay that I can't access. Thanks a lot. When the card comes I am taking my funds off and direct deposit with my Navy credit union or Chase bank accounts. Totally disgruntled customer I may even stop shopping in store too!

Seemed like it was fine using it to pay things online for a while. Switched my direct deposit to it. They waited until I had a decent amount of money on it and blocked the account. Told me my ID was not real and closed my account with my money it. They give they full around and will give you no help in getting any of your money back. The absolute worst company to work with, terrible customer service and straight thieves. Save yourselves and go with chime they are fantastic!

If you want your card blocked For No Reason at All then open an account with Walmart and find out how people in Third World Countries will Rob You with No Explanation of why your card was blocked. No Supervisor Help whatsoever,, just stupid customer service reps that will hang up on you because they have No Idea on how to resolve your problem. Opening a Real Bank Account in the morning. I stopped shopping at Walmart because it's a Multi Billion Dollar Co off other people's money. Rather Shop at Target. They better release my money their holding for no reason is all I know.

Last week as I was getting off of work I got a notification that $500 was withdrawn from my account, I immediately locked my card and called customer service. I filed a dispute on the ATM transaction and today they informed me that they were denying my dispute and that I was not going to get my money back. I really thought my money was safe I've had this card for over eight years and I've never had an issue until now. I've re filed my claim and I'm hoping and praying that they refund my stolen money.

Stole my money

WalMart green dot money card stole $896 from me. ATM malfunctioned and didn't dispense any money said approved then the ATM completely shut off while NOT dispensing anything, so I sat there for 20 min it came back on I hoped it would dispense my money but it said offline then out of order whole time it never dispensed any money but still charged me $800 plus ATM fees I called the ATM phone number and they said they see it and all I can do is call my card holder to dispute it, and so I tried to dispute it and they said oh we found no errors. Like watch the damn video on the ATM see that no money was dispensed or even the 100's of cameras in the mall it was in or see that the ATM went offline and malfunctioned!?!? Now my balance is $896 dollars but I don't get to access the funds because they denied my dispute. STAY FAR AWAY!

I've had the Walmart MoneyCard for about a year and I mostly use it for online purchases; it feels safer to me than using my credit or debit card for internet transactions. I had used it without any issues until I tried to order something from an international vendor based in Australia. My transaction got declined multiple times despite repeated attempts by phone and chat with Walmart MoneyCard representatives to have the problem fixed. Every time I would be told that a case report was made and that I should try to make the purchase again in an hour. I'd do that, only to find that I was still being declined. Finally a representative informed me that they limit or altogether block international transactions based on country or merchant to protect customers from fraudulent activity. Okay, but if I'm telling them that I want to use the money in MY card to do business with a certain merchant and it's not an illegal item, why do they think they still have to protect me? It's my money! I had last loaded a specific amount into my card precisely to make the purchase with this vendor, and now I find out I can't. I think it's ridiculous that they get to decide for customers where and how they are allowed to make purchases.

Money gone

So I buy a Walmart money card, get home, register it n try n pay bills. Its not working. So I call customer service n they tell me its under a different name n soc. Sec. Than mine. I have the receipt but they still won't refund my $. Htf they get my stuff? From home, in my wallet, n then directly to them n its gone? N even tho I have the receipt, they won't pay me back? Wtf

I bought a card to pay a bill. When you go to register the card they want your social security number. I told them I am not giving you that. I wanted my money back they told me two weeks, I told them no. I called several times got hung up on. I went and bought something close to the amount then returned it. They declined me from returning the unopened item, but gave me a gift card. I told the associate I am not leaving this store without my money. I started cursing and going off. They gave me my money. I cancelled the card. DONT BUY OR USE THIS CARD EVER.

I didn't even know until a couple days ago that the 1400 stimulus was even deposited to my card I found out threw IRS. It took three times contacting them waiting an hour each time and then being hung up on for them to tell me that my money was deposited on the card that no money had been withdrawn but my money was lost somewhere in electronic world and I had to wait two days for them to track it to have it put back on my card for my use maybe Tuesday or Wednesday.

Don't use them PLEASE

My card was stolen out of my mail and I called and waited for 6hrs. And still haven't talked to dispute. I been calling all day and still nothing. I had 3200$ stolen and they won't do anything about it. Nothing but hang up. I talked to 8 different people and they sent me to dispute and I still haven't talked to anyone. They keep you on hold for hours and then hang up the phone. I need My money ASAP. I knew it should have just got a check because this money card is some BS. So please be aware of this card. I'm going to get me a lawyer Monday. Look at all the hours I spent. I took snap shots

BLOCKS YOUR NEW CARD
April 11, 2021

Do not waste your life on this card. They have taken every penny I have. They sent me a new card but it was blocked and I am unable to get to my money. I have contacted the Attorney General/ Consumer Affairs/ and made a police report. I have had no access to my money to buy food or medcine. Please I am trying to warn everyone about this card associated with Green Dot Bank. Please be warned I used them around three years now my life has been destroyed.

Money got stolen off my card and can not get any resolution from Walmart money card they do not value there customers at all... Do not sign up for it cause if your money gets stolen they do not replace it or even investigate very bad business
