I received two cases previously without a problem. Apparently the third time is a charm as Vinesse decided to include 3 "bonus" summer bottles with my order. The problem is they tacked on $48 for my "bonus" bottles without giving me the option to decline. I chatted with a rep who said they sent a mailer telling me I had until a certain date to opt out. Nice try. I canceled the order and the membership. Charging an extra $48 and hoping your customers don't notice or object is a lousy way to do business.
I just cancelled my subscription with Vinesse. The first batch of wines are very affordable, but not very good quality. The corks in the bottle were so dried out there was no way to remove them without them breaking up and falling in the wine.
When I tried to cancel my account, they told me I had a shipment too far in the works to cancel (more than a week out) so if I wanted to refuse the wine when it was delivered. I would be charged $28 shipping and handling and $15 restocking fee. I wish I'd read some of these reviews before I signed up. Word to the wise. Don't waste your money.
AVOID THIS SCAM AT ALL TIMES! THEY WILL NEVER ANSWER THE PHONE AND THERES NO WAY TO EMAIL THEM. THEN THEY WILL CHARGE YOUR CREDIT CARD A EXORBITANT AMOUNT OF MONEY FOR CRAP WINE
THEY ARE ALREADY ON THE BBB RADAR AND THE ATTY GENERAL OF CA
OVER 45 PHONE CALLS WENT UNANSWERED AND THERES NO WAY TO EMAIL THEM EITHER
Good luck trying to cancel with this company! There is no one answering phones because of the covid-19 and they refer you to a an agent online but it is always saying offline no agent available! So through their website I reached out to their customer service and have tried twice now to get someone to respond and no one is answering my emails! Right now I have a box of unwanted wine, unopened, and I'm trying to either send it back or not be charged for.
Got the $39 box. Nothing special but a good value. Called and cancelled after hours dialing and on hold. Then a few days later a $149 box of unordered and unwanted wine arrived. Cant reach them, put the charge in dispute. They can pick up the box, never opened it. What a pack of jerk offs. AVOID!
Wine is nothing exceptional and the charges are ridiculous! Just saw I had a $30 charge added also. Can't reach them by phone to cancel or return for credit. REPORTING to BBB!
I ordered the 6 bottles of introductory offer. I did not have a chance to even try a bottle and one week later 6 bottles showed up on my entry with a charge of $158.00 to my credit card. I tried to refuse the shipment through UPS but couldn't because it had arrived already. I have been trying for 2 weeks to send the wine back. UPS said I had to have a shipping label from Vinesse. Vinesse does not answer the phone but refers me to the web site. There is nothing on the web site on how to return it. One place it said to talk to the virtual person but it does not exist. I contacted the credit card company and they called the phone number supplied the credit card company and they received the same foolish recording. Please do not ever get any wine from this company. I tried one of the wines I received in the introductory offer and it is terrible. Buy locally.
My introductory offer of six wines were sent to me and not one of the six wines listed in their brochure were sent to me. They mentioned the fine print about their ability to substitute wines... and they substituted ALL SIX!. What kind of company gets away with this? Glad I paid with a check so that they can't bill my credit card for any further shipments. No offer to return their shipment, no concern when I cancelled membership. What kind of company operates this way?
I joined Vinesse as part of a promotion from united airlines. I ordered wine and did NOT receive any notification of my order, no projected shipping dates, no info on my member number, nothing. About 2 weeks later I get an email from FED EX saying a shipment is being delivered the next day and I have to sign for it. Um I have a job, I am not home all day, and that this point there is nothing I can do.
The next shipment only indication that something was ordered/etc is a charge on my card. I chatted with someone on their website and was able to go in and I tried to stop the shipment. I thought I was successful. Two days ago I got another email from FEDEX saying my shipment is being delivered the next day and I have to sign for it. Due to the Pandemic I am not at my apt but in another state for the duration. People vacation, have jobs, etc you can't expect them to be home with no notice of a shipment.
I tried customer service. I called due to the pandemic no one is there. They told me try and use the online chat or email support. The online chat must have been a computer because the responses were not complete, and the time between my question and their response was 2+ minutes. I told them I wanted to suspend shipments during the pandemic the computer response was they cancelled my membership. I have no idea what this means. I will have to protest any and all charges which is a big pain in the neck. What a rip off.
I only gave them 2 stars is because the wines I received were good, but the hassle of dealing with is not worth the wine. I can go to the store and buy them there.
Never responded to many customer support emails over a one-month period of trying to cancel membership. Never answered phones. Finally reached online chat personnel who was argumentative and claimed everything was my fault for not correctly deciphering their deceptively worded website, even after I quoted exact passages proving my points. I see that others have written similar things, saying things like "It's a SCAM!" I'm inclined to agree that this company seems more interested in keeping you hooked into some sort of subscription, even against your will, than it is in providing good wines or good customer service.
Placed an order very confident that this would be as good as other wine clubs that I'm part of. My order of 6 bottles came with only 4 in a stained and sticky box. It looked like 2 bottles broke and it messed up everything else.
Too bad I can't post a picture of it here.
Besides that, they placed my second order without letting me know, no tracking number and neither details of what I was going to get. I found out only because my credit card was charged $150 and I was like "what is this".
No communication, no tracking number and on top of that, extremely bad quality wines. 2 out of the 4 bottles were straight to the trash can. Their wines are so bad that they don't even exist on vivino, for example.
I do not recommend it and it looks like I was scammed really bad this time. (They won't refund my money either, even after telling them all of this)
Somehow they have me down as signing up for monthly deliveries. The wine isn't that great, and they won't take responsibility for the return -- which would cost me $20. The delivery was left on our back porch and not signed for. And they have no mechanism (they say) for giving me a return label.
Plus I was on hold for 25 minutes before a person came on to tell me that I'm stuck.
Got the same ad discussed by everyone for $29.99 for 6 bottles of wine. I read it throughly as I've ordered from MANY wine companies before and decided to order online. Used the code provided and never got an email confirmation, delivery info, or a "member number" (apparently I had one). Since the wine shipment showed up I wasn't concerned about getting an email and let it go. The wine corks were all completely dried out and a few tasted like just vinegar. Others were okay, nothing special but I paid $3 for them so I didn't care! This month I see a charge for $135. So I called and asked what it was and they asked for my member number. I explained that I don't have one and have never gotten an email about a purchase, shipment, or member details. I told them I wanted it cancelled right away and they said they can cancel my membership but since the wine shipped they would charge me shipping and a 15% restocking fee. The operator kept repeating that everything I needed to fill out was extremely clear and he had no idea why I didn't get the emails but he couldn't resend emails with my information. This sounds like a sketchy company with rude people and as someone who ordered I can tell you THE AD WAS NOT CLEAR/TRANSPARENT so please stop telling me it was. Also should get a full refund if they can't even email me my initial "signing up email with membership information" that I "should have been aware of" but never got. Got the cancellation email right away though. VERY SKETCHY don't order from them.
Initial order Feb 5, tried get thru following week. Website down multiple Days, can't get thru on phone or leave msg. The week after one hour on hold, gave up. Next day get thru,... wine was shipped but they never advised or sent tracking number. Finally got it with $10 UPS pickup fee. First 2 bottles. Cancelled. Who needs this crap, so many other good clubs. If I'd looked at ratings or avalanche of BBB complaints wouldn't have started. Terrible customer experience end-to-end.
Horrible customer service. They won't cancel my membership and are lying about what I signed up for. Crooked company like some else stated. Do not give this company business. Run as far as you can. The wine is cheap and not even good for what you pay for.
Do not even pay by check. I paid by check for the introductory shipment. Received the shipment and sent an email requesting to be removed from membership list. I had not created an on-line account. Several weeks later a shipment showed up via UPS and we had the case returned immediately. I then discovered that they had taken money out of my checking account for that shipment. I will be refunded the money MINUS a return shipping fee and a 15% restocking fee. Crooked company. Avoid at all costs. They do not respond to emails and they do not answer their phone.
First the club sent the wine to my billing address (It only took 2 days) no one was home and it was sent back (took 3 days). It's now the 19th of February and I have been waiting since the 7th for the replacemnt. The best they can tell me is its on their refrigerated truck enroute to Fedex (12 days). No time frame available. I acncelled my membership.
I can't reach customer service no matter which extension I use. Now I am stuck with paying for 15/bottle of wine I don't want and can't complain about bad bottles. I do not remember the bottles being this bad ever. I literally cannot stop these shipments, no notifications are sent and when you call, you get a recording to try online. The online web site is not working, you cannot reset. Are they out of business?
I can't reach them by phone (call drops as soon as you do not enter an extension) or by website (Website not found). I want to cancel my membership. There is no way to reach them to do this and I am concerned shipments are going to start coming and charges start adding up on my credit card. If you haven't signed up for this, don't do it until further notice! Reaching them is apparently an issue for a lot of folks, not just me! The wine was not even that good, IMHO.
I ordered the sample box of reds which I didnt like so wanted to cancel any further orders, you cannot contact them buy phone as its always answer machine and no message section there email is non existent now I have to cancel my credit card
