Beware! Do not use Vacasa. Booked a very expensive large home for a week. Was charged $700.00 to heat the pool affter I had paid for the home. The pool heater was broken, confirmed by the repairman who tried to fix it. Vacasa refused to credit the $700.00.

Garbage photos, no renters, removed key from home and have not gone by to get items or return the key over 2 weeks after canceling. A freeze is coming and I cannot even have someone go drop the faucets.

I own a condo at the Aqua resort in Panama City Beach which I entrusted to VACASA in March 2022. Their sales pitch is good and all as they have the exposure to get your unit rented. Since that time my property/furniture has sustained significant damage including broken furniture, wall damage, cracked kitchen granite, missing items, etc.
What they don't tell you is that they deliberately lower your rental fees so they can tack on higher fees which amount to 30-60% of the total cost and, at times, collect more than the actual owner. Second, they charge a $35 damage waiver fee which they pocket since they never repair anything. So the owner ends up with less revenue and more liability. Third, they do a terrible job reporting any damage to the owner forcing them to spend their cashflow on maintenance and upkeep due to guest-related damage. Buyer beware.

Vacasa home inspections after a renter leaves are a total joke. Damage has been done to the property and Vacasa does nothing about it. It is ignored. I am the owner of property ******* and my worst review criticizes Vacasa on how dirty the house is. Vacasa is suppose to clean it. Vacasa is a joke.

We rented from this company in the fall of 2023 for a 2 night stay at a condo in Silverthorne. When we arrived at this condo we opened upo the front door and immediately were taken back by the strong odor of urine in the air. It was obvious that a dog, that was allowed in the unit by the way, had left it's mark in the unit. The odor was so strong that it made my eyes water. We could not stay in this unit with this strong odor and the fact that we were staying there with a dog as well and we knew he would be tempted to mark over the spots this other dog had marked. We immediately contacted Vacas about the situation and asked for a different unit to to be switched over to. We spoke to a John at 3pm and gave him the info about the unit and we were informed someone would be getting back in touch with us. Well no one got back to us until the next day at 10:15 am, which meant we were forced to book a hotel room there locally in Silverthorne. Lorelei offered us a $75 refund for the inconvenience even though we had to pay $200 for a hotel room not to mention the Vacasa unit cost us almost the same amount per night that we did not stay at. We asked to have our money refunded and all they could offer us was $75, half the cleaning fee for a place we barely set foot. My wife told them if they could not refund us our money back that we would be disputing the charge on our credit card which we ended up doing. AGAIN DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY EVER! THEY HAVE HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! THEY DO NOT BELIEVE IN THE TAKING CARE OF THEIR CUSTOMERS!

This is probably the worst run vacation property management company I have ever dealt with.

We had reserved a property two weeks in advance with a heated pool. 18 hours before we arrive they tell us the pool (inground) has a leak and cannot be fixed in time for our rental. They offered to give us $200 compensation on a $4000 rental. They would not budge.

Needless to say we asked for our money back.

Amazing beachy home

We had an excellent experience at the beach house. I love the decorations and the views, comfortable amenities, and impeccable cleanliness exceeded our expectations. Vacasa's service was efficient, contributing to a memorable and relaxing stay. Highly recommended for a perfect beachfront retreat!

Terrible
January 4, 2024

We have used Vacasa as our rental company for the past couple of years when the local rental service sold their business to them. Every time we have come up to our cabin as an owner, the cabin has been dirty. Vacasa has been pretty unresponsive. And looking at the reviews on our cabin the only bad reviews we have received are because of the property management group Vacasa. And that is very frustrating when they should be doing everything they can to make your rental get good reviews because you're paying them so much money. We are switching to a different company! My last experience with the local property manager was a very rude experience and I was blown away by their poor customer, service, and attitude.

Booked a home in North Myrtle Beach through Vacasa and highly disappointed. Arrived to dirty floors with so much grit on them we had to go out and get a swiffer and clean the floors ourselves, the filthy mop they used stuck up the house so bad we had to put it outside. No shower curtains and the shower liners were torn and ripped and not usable, again we had to go buy them. One garbage bag for entire visit supplied, one roll of toilet paper per bathroom only provided. Some ammenities not even in house. Called Vacasa when arriving, and a couple times during the week texting with the "Local" group. Local group never showed up with the missing ammenities and none responsive to fixing non working lights or coming to clean.

I booked a condo at Bahama Sands, N. Myrtle Beach, SC for 12/26-12/29. I tested positive for Covid 12/24 and immediately contacted Vacasa to request a refund or to reschedule. Initially I was told that I could reschedule. The call was cut off before anything was finalized. I called back and was told that neither a refund nor rescheduling was possible; their "policy" would not allow it. I spent several minutes complaining and was ultimately allowed to change my reservation to 1/1-1/4, which meant that my son would be unable to go with me. I attempted to contact Vacasa yesterday and today to try to reschedule further out because I still have symptoms of and am testing positive for Covid. After holding for half a hour, I gave up. I wrote an e-mail and got no response. I texted and got no response. This is such a scam, unprofessional operation! I will be filing a complaint against Vacasa with the Myrtle Beach Health Dept., the BBB, the SC Attorney General and everywhere else I can find to complain. At this point I will have to travel alone because my friends are fearful of getting Covid from me. At the age of 71 and with medical problems, I will have to take my chances. I simply cannot afford to throw away several hundred dollars, but I am putting others at risk for traveling. Vacasa does not care about anyone's health and safety. They only care about their iron-clad "policy." DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY! I will NEVER do business with Vacasa again!

Was told we would have to check in late because cleaning service was behind. Arrived at the home 1 1/2 hours after check in time and it still hadn't been cleaned. Contacted Vacassa multiple times over 2 days and no issues were resolved. They kept saying tickets had been made the local team was in it but so far no one has shown up or called. Vacassa NC has offered us $100 back on a $1000 trip. Don't rent if Vacassa is hosting! Hopefully airbnb will make up for it. Also home was not represented correctly in pictures and description.

Cancellation Policy
December 31, 2023

I had to recently cancel a reservation through Airbnb for a Vacasa property due to a medical situation. Neither Vacasa or Airbnb demonstrated any flexibility with a refund or credit. Vacasa blamed Airbnb and Airbnb blamed Vacasa. A very frustrating experience.

Unprofessional
December 31, 2023

I rented a condo at the majestic sun for 9 nights. My son and granddaughters were sleeping in the room with fabric headboards. The following morning they were covered with bites. The headboards were full of bedbugs. I captured 2 in a glass and took pictures. They refused to move us saying that we could spread them. My son and granddaughters slept on the sleeper sofa after they were bitten by the bedbugs. The next day the exterminator came and verified the bedbugs and said that they were only in that one bedroom. Vacasa said we had to vacate ASAP. They had no regards I did get a full refund. But this was a traumatizing for my son and granddaughters. We will be sueing vacasa. I will never rent from vacasa again!

Terrible and Insensitive
December 29, 2023

I would rate them lower if I could. We are two retired seniors who booked a vacation. Both of us got a stomach virus at the last minute and couldn't travel. At the same time, why would someone want us in their unit with what we had? Called Vacasa first thing in the morning and was on hold for 48 minutes. Finally hung up and tried their chat. Took 20 minutes for a response. Just wanted to let them know we were not checking in and would hope they would let us take a credit for a future stay. They said no. You would think they have the sense to provide good customer service and find a way to work through this. But they were not helpful at all. Even major hotel chains are helpful in these types of situations. We are done with Vacasa and I suggest others use their competitors.

202B Crystal Sands, Destin, FL
FILTHY! COCKROACHES IN BEDDING, holes in screens a foot across. One patio door wouldn't open AT ALL. REFRIGERATOR had LOUD SCREACHING NOISE!
We had been in another condo earlier in the month and asked to see what 202B looked like. We were told it was being "deep cleaned!" Almost laughable if it wasn't so gross. We arrived late Christmas Eve so no one on staff was there until 2 days later to actually talk to about it. Just poorly managed. Only reason to stay here is the location if you don't mind the bugs and the decor being DIRTY and from 20 years ago as well as the appliances. Grease on cabinet handles. Roach poop and pubic hairs under bunk bed mattresses. Dust everywhere. Grime on the painted cabinets. Roach fell out of bedding. Alive!
Bedding was also stained in the miserable dated state that it was. Not enough for cold weather. See photo of king beds. Mattress topper on a VERY OLD MATTRESS! Bunk beds and sofa mattresses weren't better. Basically, 3 nights of miserable sleep.
No cutting board in kitchen. Other kitchen stuff old but adequate. I venture to guess that the original curtains were up for twenty years and hadn't been cleaned. The floor in bathroom actually moved when stepped on. It was soft underneath. The shower head was pitiful.
You can't make this stuff up! Just HORRIBLE!

Do not rent from Vacasa!
December 29, 2023

Renter beware of Kona Bali Kai #313 and Vacasa. We rented a beautiful one bedroom beachfront condo with A/C months before our trip to Kailua-Kona on December 19 - 23,2023. Two days before we arrived we got a notice from Vacasa that our rental in Florida was unavailable. Since we weren't going to Florida, we ignored it as an error. Until the next day (day before our trip), that we received a notice that our Kailua-Kona rental was unavailable as owner took it off rental market. Vacasa "relocated" us to this unit. As we were leaving for the trip, and it was Christmas in Hawaii, we had no choice but to accept.

When we arrived to the building, we were first shocked to find the parking structure crumbling. Then we found that the unit itself in much the same condition. (Please note - photos of unit do not match reality…especially bathrooms). The unit is old and falling apart (drawers and cabinet doors in kitchen literally falling off). Tubs and showers old and dirty. Master bedroom bed is like a cot. No A/C. Furniture from the 50's or 60's. Book on coffee table with a note that says "This is our deceased sister's condo." Totally creepy. Lack of amenities to take to the beach.

When I called Vacasa to be relocated, they said nothing they could do as there were no other units. When asked for compensation for inferior accommodations, they said not unless we vacated the unit…and that it would take 3 - 5 days to return our money. By then, we looked up Vacasa reviews and found this is a common occurrence and that people do not get reimbursed for months, so we did not vacate.
We believe we were the victims of a bait and switch: especially since the supervisor I spoke with said unit was not available due to a flood (different reason than we were first given).

We have rented on VRBO many times, and never had any problems. This is our first - and last time - renting with Vacasa.

And we recommend that if you are considering renting with Vacasa - or this unit - you run away as fast as you can!

Frustrated
December 28, 2023

I have not even made it to the rental house yet and I'm so frustrated that I will never rent a Vacasa managed home again.

I booked through Airbnb a month ago. Two days before travel they said I needed to sign another agreement. The link did not work. I then signed out of Airbnb and signed into the Vacasa site to find document. Everything on that site showed complete. My messages through Vacasa on Airbnb were not helpful and vague.

I finally called and was helped the day before travel.

I booked a place on vacasa, received confirmation. Filled out all forms, sent copy of driver's license, send selfie picture for verification. At time of checking received message that my reservation is cancelled. I was on phone waiting for 1 hour but of no help. I will never go to this website again.
