We were painted I to our condo. The only way in and out wS by the front door deck. We almost fell do to the slippery deck. Then while we were gone, they came into our unit and painted our balcony. No one asked permission. Bath tub clogged with disgusting black hair, and the unit had cockroaches. Then the kicker, we paid thousands and Then were told we had to pay extra for the pool. And guess what, none of it was vacasas fault! It was everybody else's fault. Including mine! Never again.
Rented a property in Mexico through booking.com which turned out to be connected to Vacasa. The photos and reviews looked positive until we arrived and noticed a few concerns. First we noticed that the bathroom had no privacy in the window. If you went up to the next level you could see in the full shower and toilet. Then those same windows and the patio door don't lock. The locks aren't latching. Then the kitchen cabinets look like someone used a cleaner and wrecked the finish, one actually had mold on inside of it.
They give us 1 towel and 1 face cloth each for the week which includes the use for the pools. No dish towels or spices for the kitchen. We had to buy our own.
Be careful Vacasa will add fees and then VRBO will add fees. So before you are done there is a very large additional amount you will be paying, enough to stay for an additional night. Buyer Beware! I surely will never rent another house that is involved with Vacasa.
Power was knocked out at the property we were staying at, from heavy winds and a tree branch blocked us into property, preventing us from leaving. Reported is to Vacasa immediately and they assured they would have the "local team" put a rush on it. Vacasa never called power company to report - Spent the night in freezing conditions with no power, until I called power company the next morning & they were out within an hour. Power company said they never received a report & that they would have been out to fix that night if they had, since having a live wire on the ground was a safety issue. They also confirmed that they have multiple issues with this property. No working fridge during the entire stay, which projected a smell throughout the house (reported this 1st night, never fixed), only 3 outlets in the home actually work and no wi-fi. They promise rec room use, but we were turned away when trying to use the cards provided, since they were expired. Afterwards, Vacasa informs you that the "policy changed" and that it's an additional charge, which is not what was stated in the contract signed. My children informed me that they HATED their stay here. I have contacted Vacasa multiple times and they refuse to help with any resolution to rectify the matter. Every conversation is that they have to contact their "local team" but then Nothing! Our entire vacation was ruined due to their incompetence, and they refuse to make it right! I do NOT recommend staying anywhere managed by this company, if an enjoyable vacation is what you desire!
Vacasa was ok to deal with. They were somewhat helpful with our rental after a blizzard hit. When I looked at my bank statement I saw that VRBO charged me $58 for some fee that I was never notified about. $#*! that company. There's no description in my receipt of the charge and I'm more than pissed that they won't give me a refund. And their customer service rep is telling me that I booked it through vrbo, which I did not. I booked it through the vacasa app. I will never use either of their services again!
Booked a room at daytona beach resort after booking found out both pools and the parking garage are closed for construction and construction will be going on during the day the whole week we are there. Called the support team who is a joke. I can't cancel with a refund their website says nothing about the closures. This is false advertising at its finest vacasa is a bunch of crooks. This a hard lesson learned I will never use them again.
My rental income in Panama City Beach went down over 50%. Numerable damages that I had to cover as an owner. When I cut ties with them they removed their lock and left three huge holes in my door that the hallway could see through and they refuse to fix them. They spent $14,000 of my income with no spending receipts. The only thing I can tell that they bought was a runner rug and a few Dollar store kitchen items. Multiple complaints of renters that it's dirty. Behind your back they will comp renters at the first complaint out of your income.
We booked a condo with vacasa on Hilton Head Island about 3 months out from our trip and a month from our arrival I get an email that the condo we rented had been sold. Who let's you make a reservation on a condo that is for sale? They offered to switch us to an equivalent place or refund us. Well the equivalent places locations are not oceanfront, and do not have a oceanfront pool. The two features that we rented the condo for. We opted for the refund but now the only places that are available oceanfront are out of our price range. Thanks for screwing us over vacasa.
Be careful when you see a listing on Airbnb from Vacasa management. They do not accommodate guests and hide behind their policy. I booked a stay on Airbnb, which was termed "instant booking". When I was booking I didn't see that they had a 25lb limit for dogs. Normally, the host responds and says no this is against our policy and cancels the reservation. Not these people. Instantly booked the property and a week later they messaged me on Airbnb that I can't bring my dog because he was 30lb. Of course their listing was nonrefundable. They know they are keeping you hostage and don't care if you cancel because they are keeping your money anyway. This is predatory behavior, entrapment. Why would you want to book with a host that aims to entrap you?
2 bad experiences with them. We live in central California and going to China peak ski resort every winter. Last year I booked a condo with Vacasa and they canceled my reservation on the checkin day and my family with kids was on the way to the mountain. The phone signal was in and out. We had to turned around and went back home.
2nd time was this year we booked a condo for 10 people and was on blizzard and storm weekend. I just wanted to postpone my trip next available date and they said no. It was stupid of me to canceled it instead of live it open and not show up. After my cancellation and no refund at all, they re post the condo for rent on the dates I rented. Really bad customer service, never book with them again!
I was skeptical because I just happen to come across Vacasa. From beginning to end, me and my sisters and Mom had a great time. It was easy to use and they were very responsive to any questions that I had. I'm using them again in April for my next trip. These are individual homes, condos and apartments.
I had a horrible experience with my Airbnb
Amanda, my contact at Bacasa messaged very brifly and then ghosted me. She did not answe her phone, call me back, or return messages. The telephone number for her that was sent in my email was incorrect. Another representative gave me her correct phone number.
Two accommodations this management team provided me one had no electricity and the other had black mold. This took place in Playa Del Carmén Mexico on our family vacation. Nothing was ever done. I urge you to check management team that mentions. VACASA to avoid booking with them at all means necessary. This statement is provided by a military family on vacation from the United States of America. The worst experience I ever encountered. They managed many of properties. Google them a you will see several customers complaints with a rating of 1.5 which is not justifiable. AVOID VACASA Oh a first accommodation was five star with no electricity day after check in second accommodation was one star black mold present with strong musky smell.
This house is located in a wonderful neighbourhood and close to so many amenities and restaurants and there's a quant park just around the corner.
The house itself has a great layout but needs to be painted and freshened! Beds could be updated as they are very uncomfortable. House would benefit with having curtains in the front window so people aren't looking in.
When we got there the pool wasn't working but once we called they got it fixed right away. Would be nice to have had lounge chairs out in the backyard to relax on.
The laundry room light doesn't work.
The kitchen needs new pots, pans and baking sheets they're in rough shape.
Stove was working on and off not sure if there's a wire lose. We pulled the bottom draw out under the stove and noticed that the cleaners are only doing a service clean not a deep clean. Under the stove and couch was disgusting.
Hence probably why we saw a huge cockroach on our last day.
They also need to look at the shower in the master bedroom as when you shower all the water goes rushing out into the backyard.
We have put in a complaint and really hope this house gets a deep clean and updated and put some well needed money into there clients needs. Then this house will be a wonderful getaway retreat.
Checked into THE COTTAGES 39 HILTON HEAD ISLAND last night rented via Vacasa. Absolutely filthy. Contacted them immediately for other arrangements, refund or at the very least additional cleaning. Still Nothing. We cleaned to the best of our ability after a 12 hour trip. No deadbolt or chain on the door, dirty carpet, stains on the furniture, dirty walls, crumbs on the stove, hair on the bathroom sink, dirty toilet seat, grime on the every surface, cobwebs in the corners and on the walls. Molding and rusting doors and door frames. A cracked window pane with curved, pointed hooks sitting on the porch, behind a rocking chair like an accident waiting to happen. I could go on but I'll stop. So disappointed and upset.
Do NOT book with this company or use them to manage your property. I used them to rent a home in Boone, NC. I forgot a bag and immediately contacted them to get it back. They use AI to text with renters and then made me wait 30 mins on hold when trying to speak with someone. They said they could not get in touch with the local property manager. I still have not gotten it back or even a return call after 48 hours.
Rented a house from Vacasa for 1 week, housekeepers come in unannounced. Do not even let you know prior to the arrival that they will be coming. House was not properly stocked with the weekly things you would need to stay there (no pizza pans, no throw blankets, no pizza cutters, no salt/pepper, no coffee filters, etc) they do however provide dishwasher tabs for a dishwasher that did not exist on site. When you call you get a representative that will say "I understand, yes, OK" But nothing gets solved. If you want to rent from Vacasa, lock up all your items because they will come unannounced & are watching you at all times. How convenient that the housekeeper showed up shortly after we left. When we did not even request a towel refill? Sneaky. Very suspicious. Do not rent from this company! You will be watched at all times with poor customer service.
Acess to the unit required driving through 5 inches of water, then up the side of an unimproved mountain road. When trying to seek local knowledge about the access, like "does this road get worse when the tides come in or with heavy rain", vacasa told us they would let us know within 72 hours. Not great. When we asked to cancel, they told us it was non refundable because we didn't buy disaster insurance. We went to a hotel for the night because we didn't want to get stranded.
The next day the management team said that they know about the situation, and in spite of the water, the road is passable year round. So we went back.
Once in the unit, it was lovely. A converted basement in a yuppie McMansion, overlooking Discovery bay. Someone made it look like cleaning was done, except the sheets on two of the three beds were dirty. The bed was made, but never washed. Globs of bodily fluids. Luckily there was a washer in the unit, I spent; hours doing laundry before I could finally get to sleep on the second day of my rental.
No refunds.
Last week we had a condo in St. Augustine canceled 5 days before arrival. Despite bring told any replacement unit needed to be handicap accessible they gave us a completely inaccessible unit. They had nothing else available and offered bizarre options because obviously they don't care. We struggled to.find rooms for that
Night and left the next day. Did get a refund but no other help!
It was by far the worst rental experience me and my family have had, and we all felt something needed to be done, including an onsite compliance audit. My hope is that future renters of this cabin don't have to deal with the crap we did. In terms of the issues with cleanliness VaCasa said they are not responsible because if was the owners that stayed there prior to our arrival. If this is the case, I would have loved a personalized apology from the Owners. To date I have not received any method of leaving formal feedback review. I've asked VaCasa and nothing's been sent. To provide you a view of our experience I attached an e-mail from my Sister-in-law that was sent to Vacasa yesterday with a nominal response of "Thanks for the feedback, our apologies, but we cannot do anything more than a 9% refund of $200 off $2100." Compliance Issues: Their advertisement says they have a TV, Dishwasher, Gas BBQ, and Gas Fireplace. The only one operational was the upstairs Gas Fireplace. Noted below, it's likely electrical code issues exist and lastly we paid a cleaning fee, why? We had to hand wash the dishes that were left dirty in the cupboards from the prior owners stay and for the rest of the trip because the dishwasher heating element was out. We had to clean some beds before sleeping. Rachel (VaCasa) asked for pictures as evidence but we had already cleaned all the dishes by the time I spoke to here. I didn't take picture of the TV, dishwasher, BBQ and gas fireplace not working because that was verified by the person who came over from VaCasa. Lastly, the responsiveness was very bad from Vacasa since it was over Christmas….but still not an excuse. This is strike 2 in 2 attempts using Vacasa. The last place we stayed with Vacasa they moved us to a different facility because the place we had already paid for was already rented. The place they put us was not cleaned, dirty towels and sheets were left behind, there was no hot water all day which was terrible timing since it was our wedding day. The gave us a slight break on price. They use the cheapest soap, conditioner, and shampoo. Bottom line, they have the worst support, don't give a sh## about the customer, charge you $200+ for cleaning when the places are not clean in the first place. Go with VRBO or get a hotel and save yourself pain working with this joke of a company.
Answer: It's a monster scam. Avoid at all costs. I've rented several properties that ended up going through Vacasa - despite my best efforts to avoid them. You can't find out that it's Vacasa until after they have your money. It's a criminal enterprise.
Answer: In my experience, construction is their "catch all" excuse for canceling. Follow up to verify that it was rented, but for higher fee.
Answer: I am not sure but for the renter (not the owners) the fees may be charged without full disclosure.
Answer: Bad bad bad worst service I ever got at a short term rental
