Unable to access my funds. Customer Service will not answer. Tried 5 times and can't get through to anyone. I haven't been able to use my funds for 2 days now!

Why on earth is the government using this bank? I don't have any choice because this is where the government is sending money! Their mobile app is trash! They said we can now transfer funds from this TRASH bank to our personal bank but I can't fill out my bank information. I tried signing in to their website and I can't login but can login to my mobile app which is useless!

What a joke. My wife has them and also regular bank accounts. She has excellent credit 800's. I have been trying for a couple years to get her to use her regular bank for SSI payments. She finally gets it now that she was scammed by a local gym. We were told that they didn't have contracts. So she paid for 6... 30 minute sessions with a personal trainer for 180.00. But we found out they were debiting her Direct Express card 140.00 ever 2 weeks. I cought the 1st one and contacted Direct Express by phone because you can't do anything through the website not even transferring money to your real bank. (They said that service is no longer available). So we filed a complaint and was told we'd receive a letter and fill out the paperwork. The letter said if returned within 10 day's money would be credited immediately. Problem was it took 14 days to receive letter. The next day I was mailing the forms back to them and received a new letter stating that their investigation is completed and sorry sucker you lose... We did go to the SSI office and change the direct deposit to her bank and the lady at social security rolled her eyes and nodded when we told her how much Direct Express sucks...
Your payments from social security end up on the card about 25% of the time from social security administration. 75% if the time you end up on hold for 1-3hrs. I see why we don't get anything done in this country.
Completely unacceptable I have used Direct Express for more than 3 years and I have never experienced such a headache it has never been this hard to activate a Direct Express Card and then they keep you on hold for 3 to 8 hours they never answer their phones and after what I heard of them frauding people and taking people's money this card is not worth the headache whoever is reading this review please do not use this card they need to fix their customer service and their system compete waste of time shame on them.
This is so frustrating. I receive my Social Security benefits on the DX card. Every time, EVERY TIME, I use the card at a vendor I've not used before, the card gets refused. For the love of Pete, this is MY MONEY. I paid into Social Security for HALF A CENTURY!. If I live to be one hundred, I will only receive about 30% of what I paid into it. PLEASE PLEASE *PLEASE* let me spend my my money!

My father gets his benefits on direct express card. But going online trying to see things is impossible. Always tells me my user name and password are incorrect I change it and it still says the same thing over and over. Tired of changing passwords and logging on and the website is down. Horrible
My husband's direct express card was hacked. 248 times. Yes that's RIGHT. No money returned. He has contacted our state senator and the federal trade Commission. Hoping for some results. As direct express refuses to give him his money back. Please find an alternative way to receive your social security
I have waited multiple hours over the phone just to get a hold of some one. How is it this company is still in business. How does the government allow such people to operate. There had to be some kind of an inside connection with a government official the fact this company is still in business.
They are the most abusive personal ever. They will transfer you to different people to solve the issue. Every time they transfer you pull up a seat minimum one one hour from on department to another and good luck. For me it's been a whole week tell now no resolution. Nothing is resolved.

This is definitely the worst company however I should not be surprised giving that it is affiliated with the government. I was assisting a client with activating their replacement card only to be put on hold for more than 3 hours and no one EVER came to the phone. How is this helpful? How is this convenient for anyone? There is no way to activate the card online either. How is this helpful? When you call, they ask for the card number and your last 4 of your SS#, then you are put on eternal hold. Hey Direct Express, not sure if you are aware but most cards are activated over the telephone or online as alternate options. Not sure if this is a way to justify your need for employees but this whole set up is sad and is not conducive to your average consumer. Also, you cannot email customer service which is why any complaint has to be on sites like this. Overall, this is a government 3rd party entity and they operate just as crappy as all of the other government or "government-affiliated" entities.
Got my backpay on a direct express card. Used it fine a few times then it was locked. Called multiple times to unlock it then they wanted my driver license text to them! I did everything but a DNA test! Finally I went to a local bank and withdrew most of the money and switched my SSDI to the same local bank. After that I zeroed out my direct deposit card. Two weeks later got a call from them asking about a 313 number. I told them it wasn't me but no worries since I had already zeroed my card. The lady wanted my id and I told her she already got it and wasn't sending it again. She got mad and cancelled my card! Thank goodness! This company caused my PTSD and anxiety to go threw the roof! Don't use this card. Wish there was the option of a negative number!
The app never works! You have to redownload it every time you want to check your balance! It's so frustrating. And even when you know your passwords right it tells you what's wrong! Every single time I try to open the app I have to re-download. It tells me to register my card.
Go to your bank they let companies take money off your car without authorization and it's hell to get your money back
If you are some one older throw this card in the garage. They want help you if something happens. Close this company down!
There are 4 $250 withdrawals since May 2022! Nobody can tell you anything about how it happened. They claim "I" had to have done them! I keep receipts for everything and OBVIOUSLY someone would know if they did them! 1 was nade made back to back 2 minutes after I made a withdrawall at a Circle K ATM in Florida and others were days after I made withdrawal from a Circle K in same location! Called relentless times trying to get answers from supervisors as well to be refunded! They make it like "YOU" must have done it but don't remember! Lol I hear so many of the same stories! Hackers are robbing people blind! $1000 I got ripped off!
I been trying for 5 days to get block off. Have been told 10 times. My card would be working in 2 hours. I have been id verify. Still block or direcr express not correct the problem.
This card company allow someone to change my address to steal from me luckily I caught it in time. They allow them to express cards to New Jersey and Utah and charged my card I requested for money back because they clearly saw it was fraud and they denied my request. I have never seen nothing like this know it's fraud and want protect there customers at all when I say run I mean to run do not allow your funds to go here because they are absolutely no help they are worse than the people trying to steal from you because they want do anything about the situation or protect your funds
Answer: Absolutely not! The system is automated if you can meet your need via that system you will be good to go. If you need to speak to a human it could takes hours and days. I've been calling for 4 days. Every hour 2 - 20 calls an hour. I receive the message they have a high call volume, they tell me to try again later and then they disconnect they call. Their practices are abusive.
