I have found and worked with great companies and individuals. Both short and long term. The website is easy to use has a timer for logging your actual hours you are working on a project. And a guarantee of being paid.
Upwork has been a great influence in my life. I am able to work as per my own schedule on the projects I enjoy. It has brought a much-needed work-life balance for me.
With Upwork you are guaranteed of success. The customer care team always ready to assist where necessary.
I love Upwork, it changed my life for good. Actually not only for me but for my entire family. Because of the opportunities im gettng in Upwork from time to time, I can provide necessary things and earn a bit at the same time.
The Upwork allowed me to start off to make money, and do the job I enjoy working to. It's a great platform to promote yourself, your work and quality.
I'll start off by saying I love upwork for the opportunities they have provided me with, but it for sure does have it's flaws and I'll point out two of the biggest ones.
1. The 20% comission UNTILL you reach 500$, which then turn into 10%. That would be fair and good if it didn't only count for ONE client. As of now, I've made almost 1000$ on upwork and, which Menas I've generated upwork atleast 200$ in commissions and even more in connects. Sadly, most of the projects people get on upwork are a one time deal and you almost never get the chance to reach that 500$ mark with just one client. I believe the 10% comission should be applied to anyone who has already earned 500 or 1000$ via upwork IN TOTAL.
Why? Because that would encourage people to really keep all the gigs and payments inside upwork, where reaching a "total earned" would actually benefit them. And of course, once you reach that 10% commission rate, the people would feel "appreciated" by the site and actually be more involved in trying to make more money via upwork (because no they make 10% more, technically). And that would go both ways, maybe it would be less comission, but it would result in more gigs, balancing it out if not exceeding the profits for upwork themselves.
Especially if you're from Europe, the 20% comission + the VAT that I have to pay from my own pocket ends up to turn into 30+% comission flat! And that is before taxes in my own country. The 10% comission also REALLY benifits your workers over seas like myself.
2. Im not quite sure why, because I haven't seen the page from a "Buyers" point of view, but atleast half of the time I feel like the clients never even see my gig application even when I've written a killer application, a lot of people tend to not respond at all (NEVER have been denied), which leads me to believe they never even get to see my application. I don't know if it's because their end gets flooded by people offering to do the gig for under what the minimum is (I saw that when I bought the upwork Plus account). But that should really get checked out.

I like to work with upwork and to be honest it is the main my working place for years already(6+years).
I fount here not only cool projects but also cool people and even friends.
A lot of interesting tasks that help me learn every time something new and to be helpful for people all over the worlld and to be a part of great and cool business.
Upwork is really good plate form to work from home. But I would rate 5 stars if they could reimburse the connects for which jobs are still vacant. As those can be used for other proposals. The time duration of Job expiry should be less so that we can use our invested connects.
I've used Upwork for around 3-4 years now to make extra money on the side. For me, I also use it as a way to get paid to learn. I taught myself the basics of Python programming 4-5 years ago and then used Upwork to keep building those skills while making money. It took me a few years but I now have 1 reliable client who I do work for several times a year(and probably more to come) and I am able to reliably find other projects to work on. You have to be willing to do some hard work and get your profile built up with some good reviews. Do a project or two for cheap at first to build up the good ratings and work from there.
Upwork is excellent job portal platform for me as freelancer. Im find my 1st job as freelance designer.
Best freelancing site ever. You find the work you love, get selected for the work and that is it. New vacancies are constantly being added, honest reviews are always written. If you are looking for a job then this platform is perfect for you!
A trusted market place that you can rely on it without doubting. Proud to be a member of this largest job market.
I started working on Upwork a year ago and I couldn't be happier. The amount of job offers is really good, and their support team is top notch. My profile and income scaled substantially since I started. Best freelancing site ever.
They let you have all the ease of the work and you don't need to bother about anything but work. They take care of everything else. You find the work you love, get selected for the work and that is it.
It is the best freelancing site. Highly recommended to work on the Upwork platform if you are a highly skilled person.

Answer: They are horrible. Every freelancer I've gotten from Upwork has cost me more to fix the small job they have done. There's absolutely no customer service! I would stay away
Answer: This is not the place to inquire.
Answer: No, just 20% of your job when we talk about fixed price, and same for hourly but after some week it's been 10%
Answer: Go to Settings › Contact Info › Click the Close my account link. If you meet the requirements, click the button to confirm that you want to close your account.
Answer: I am a customer and have had a really horrible experience. Upwork claims a 100% guarantee before you pay anything. That is not true. The process is actually quite horrible. You put money in escrow. You only get your money back after a bad contract if the freelancer agrees to release the money. If the freelancer refuses, you get a bargain offer to still pay them something but still you are paying for a bad job you can't use. Then, if you refuse to bargain over a bad job, you are told that it will cost you an additional $389 to arbitrate with a 3rd party affiliate that the customer (me), the freelancer (scammer) and Upwork (ripoff enabler) has to pay. I took it all the way to arbitration with the end result being that Upwork decided that I was just too uninformed to know their policy and that they would give me a one time only refund of my original amount. What they didn't tell me what that they just gave me a "credit" of my original amount and that was the end. So I am still out the original amount and can't get my money back. This sight is a ripoff. Plain and simple.
Answer: Because of their policy changes which are geared towards the client rather than the freelancer. They have dug their own grave with their policy changes of late.
Answer: Go to Get Paid on PC or Mobile, you will see 3 dots in front of your payment method, tap to select edit/remove to change them. Go to Billing Method on PC under Billing Section and tap three dots to change (edit/remove). Thanks
Answer: Be part and see, dont look at the sold mine reviews people, upwork can bush you to reach.
Answer: I agree with Sam. This place is a scam. They have bad reviews everywhere. Katrina is probably working for them!
