Upwork is the best freelancing platform because it takes care of both the freelancers and the clients. Client satisfaction is of utmost importance but freelancers are important too and upwork understands that. They treat the clients and the freelancers equally and with respect and that's what makes them stand out from the rest. I'm thankful to upwork for creating this platform which has given a lot of opportunity to many freelancers like me.

I used upwork for a big e-commerce project I wanted to kick off. Once the project started and things started going wrong upwork was zero help in trying to resolve the issues with the freelance agency. They made all the right noises in their email but actually didn't do anything apart from play postbox. They sure didn't forget to collect their fees from every payment made but wanted nothing to do with managing the dispute. I have decided to make a claim direct with my credit card provider and intend to inform social media of their complete lack of dispute resolution. I will never use there services again

So you find a freelancer that might fit the bill, you cannot direct message them without an upgraded account. You can "Invite" them which means you have to post a job to all freelancers, not just to the person you are interested in. In order to direct message the freelancer, I had to use the Hire option but I still don't really know if I want to hire this person since we haven't even exchanged even one msg. Goofy system (by design).

Upwork provide freelancer like us who leave everything behind and start relay on it!
Working with upwork and getting client is like heaven to us, we make money our own ND be our own boss.
