I was on a trip from home in VA. To Irving, Tx. For a conference. I had never used any ride service and was told Uber was good. First four uses of uber went well. Clean cars, nice drivers simple system that seemed to tell everything. The last time I went to use it was on I a side trip from Irving to Addison, Tx. I finished my business at a museum and went to order the uber back. Museum is closing and battery is low on the phone. Uber refuses to place the order due to wanting to verify my bank account. Well I have no need for mobile banking so I have no way to verify the amounts that is being placing in my account. The musum closes I am out in the wind battery below 4%. Help on their app says enter a new card. Nope! No help same crap. Now before I left I notified my bank. The bank I know is not the problem its Uber. 4 calls later a black car service provided the ride I needed back to Irving to make my connection on time. Cost was three times higher but I got back. Guess who I want be calling to take us to the airport tomorrow. No complaint system by Uber. No person you can talk with. POOR for a service company. POOR to check to see if the account is correct after five uses. Not the drivers the COMPANY is poor as a service related product.
Been using it for years and it's been great until the other day when a deranged uber driver drove off with all of our luggage while on vacation. Waited for well over an hour. Had to file a police report. The police was instrumental in getting our items back to us. We got it back after 4 hours of waiting in a police station. The driver didn't apologize or anything- he was deranged. I would need a refund and a sizable credit if I am ever to use uber again- so far that hasn't happened. One of the uber reps was terrible. Another was better. This company is like russian roulette- you never know what you're going to get. Update: uber's offer for having 5 pieces of our luggage stolen including prescription medication, passport and laptop etc was $5 to use towards our next trip. What next trip? I won't ever be using it again. Now that I know how poorly run it is. So far as I know that deranged driver is still working for them.
I once thought uber (and ubereats) was great until I realised that this company allows their driver partners and delivery partners to try to get the maximum profit possible.
How? I was charged a waiting fee by a driver who not only neglected to confirm I was in the vehicle but did not end the previous trip until they were about to pick me up. I was watching the tracking thinking he must have forgotten but no, it was deliberate.
Just like another driver who started my trip while he was still 5 minutes away, which was definitely deliberate because he messaged me upon arrival, knowing very well that I would not have been getting notifications as he approached my pick up location.
And then there are the drivers who accept your bookings and then drive in the opposite direction until you cancel, pull over somewhere and wait until you cancel, cancel the job themselves and all of these actions will require you to book the job again which makes the pricing surge in your area.
Uber don't care, they make money off it too!
And then there are the food delivery people who refuse to deliver your food if you don't tip them enough before they have even completed the job. It's disgusting.
I have contacted them multiple times for allowing customers to be exploited and they have been less than professional. I would rather book taxis because they actually cost less these days!
You know I was going to become a driver with this company but after seeing my receipt I notice they overcharge you, they add things like booking fee, temporary fuel surcharge, MCO airport surcharge, toll charge. Further more depending on the time of day the price skyrockets. For example, from it's 10:00am to 1:00 pm lets say from davenport fl to Orlando airport the price 50.00 dollars, but from 2:00 pm to 8 pm that price would be 170.00 dollars, oh on the weekend it's even worst, as a driver get it gets worst, I'm told if the fare is, let's say 170.00 the driver gets only 80 dollars, now why would I work for a company that's making all the profit while stealing from the driver
Please be careful using Uber. I think there employees are using credit card information. I had three unauthorized Uber purchases on my credit card. I have no unauthorized purchases from ANYWHERE else, except Uber. I only picked 1 start because I had to. I would have left it blank if I could.
One of you drivers Sibusiso Uber motorbike KC30CMGP was very rude he processed my order as delivered and he did not get to my gate. He started the timer whilst I had asked him to type in the address on his GPS because it'll show the accurate location he hung up on me. Uber is known for its quality service and high standards but what I've experienced today was nothing close to that.
Here's my experience, you decide for yourself. We were staying at a hotel in Nashville located a mere 5 miles from downtown. Rather than renting a car we thought we'd just utilize Uber for the three days we were in town. The first ride into town seemed to go smoothly enough and cost $14; reasonable enough. Caught in the rain late on a Friday evening we thought we'd better head back to the hotel so logged into the Uber app for transport... and to our amazement they wanted $41 (yes FORTY ONE $$) dollars for the same 5 mile drive. I immediately turned to Lyft for our transportation needs and while they quoted the trip at $18, after waiting over 20 minutes in the rain, and multiple texts stating a car was on it's way, they could ultimately supply no such vehicle. Returning to Uber we now were quoted a price of $58 (YES you read correctly; FIFTY EIGHT DOLLARS!) With no choice other than catching pneunomia we were forced to agree to this outlansish extortion!
Thinking this was somehow just a one-off we repeated our journey the next evening. This time, $10 into town AND ANOTHER $58 FOR THE RETURN! You tell me... is this not the exact definition of COPORATE GOUGING! I completely understand the principles of supply and demand as it relates to the economy but to apply it to your service in the manner Uber does is simply HIGHWAY ROBBERY! Five miles in one direction... $10, yet the same five miles on the return, just because the demand is greater, a 600% increase! DESPICABLE!
Next time... it's a car rental for me. At least I know how I'm getting screwed up front! Uber and Lyft, well, you know where you can go!
I finished a 8 hour shift, I decided to take an uber back home. When the uber driver "arrived" i texted asking where he was, he didnt tell me, instead he wrote "i have arrived" again. So i decided to call him. He didnt understand what i was saying, nor did i understand what he was saying. Really poor Communication skills. He was no where to be found and after being so anxious running around trying to find his car, he cancelled. I have never been more disappointed with a service in my life. Not only this, but I was charged a $10 fee and the $$ from the service I didn't receive. Never using uber again
Have been working with and using Uber for the last 4 years. After my last incident with them I decided to cut all ties with this absolute joke of an app. They took money out of my account without permission for 2 years straight. While many times these were just random holds and were usually returned to me, there were 4 instances where my money was not returned and the customer service was below par. I sent them many emails kindly asking for my money to be returned along with picture proof of the charges. Instead of helping me or even answering questions, they told me the same 2 phrases of "make sure no one in your family is using your account" and "keep a closer eye on your payments." Wow thanks thats literally why I came to you for assistance. I explained that I lived alone and no one but me had access to my account, they then linked me my OWN email address and name and said that "this person" was using my account and to ask them if that was the case. After explaining to them once again that not only was "this person" me using my own account, they gave me the same response of "make sure no one in your family or anyone you live with is using your account." I understand that its difficult to deal with many service requests with such a unmaintained server as Uber's but cmon, how is this fair that I am being charged multiple times for rides and food that I never ordered, and instead of getting my money returned to me as I should, the only assistance I got after 2-3 days of exchanging emails was "make sure no one in your family is using your account." Horrid customer service and total scammers, Screw you Uber I hope your business goes down one day.
After that mass shooting in brooklyn (sunset park) insteas of raising the fares during a deaperate time of need for customers and being greedy, they should have looked out considering the circumstances. I dont respect them as a business if it was me I wouldve given rides for free I mean come on these are people scared for their lives at the moment and their main focus was trying to make top dollar smh! I would never take uber or lyft again ill walk

Just spent 45 min (yes, it was a long trip) with a driver who apparently thought she was just being friendly by unloading ALL her very opinionated political views on me. Why do some people NEVER learn that some conversations are NEVER appropriate with complete strangers.
Uber canceled my trip I did not. They charged me almost 6 dollars for a cancellation fee that I didn't cancel. I had to order another Uber. They credited my account. I don't want a credit to this horrible company. I want my money back. Worst customer service in the world why are they allowed to operate!

Tried to get a uber from carnival cruise conquest terminal D. Never got picked up but still charged.
I am physically disabled and was staying at a resort in Orlando, Florida without a vehicle. This individual is one of 3 Uber drivers, within a 4 day period, who was very rude and refused to transport me because I have a trained Service Dog. He said that under "Uber rules" I was suppose to ask for an Uber pet transport which requires paying a higher rate. It was obvious that this individual had no understanding of the American with Disabilities Act (ADA), nor did he have accurate information regarding Ubers rules. I would hope that Uber educates their drivers about the ADA rules & regulations and the difference between a "Service Dog" and a "pet dog". It is against ADA regulations to charge extra for transporting a disabled person with a Service Dog—this can result in a $200 fine if reported to the ADA.
Discrimination against my cousins service dog in Orlando FL between 3/31 and 4/6/2022; several drivers refused transport and were rude (Gudionel- Z91FVC on 3/31 and Ronnie- NBYL64 on 4/6); overcharged (no ride on 4/2); almost missed flight on 4/6 - long wait for 3rd driver. Credit charges attached.
I'm not sure how this company operates, but I'm not a frequent user of Uber and probably used them 3 times which is a stretch, over the course of a few years. I tried accessing my account for UberEats and was told my account was suspended and will not be lifted due to a violation. They gave me no notice, no warning, nothing. I then asked what was violated, the time and date and they sent me the terms and conditions. I asked again and received another response, the suspension will not be lifted. I'm glad I don't use them at all and I never heard of a suspension on an account that's not used and no one can tell you how or when you violated a code/terms and conditions. I'm not sure what's going on with a lot of these companies lately but the service has been UNDER the ground.

These were complimentary Ubers booked for me by City Subaru as my car was serviced today. This is the high quality service that Uber is providing to a corporate client! Appalling.
Answer: I strongly believe that if anyone makes $20/Hour driving for uber, everybody will come out from the offices I work for them. If you make minimum wage while you are driving for them you are lucky.
