Uber Reviews Summary

Uber's reputation is marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, primarily stemming from a perceived lack of reliable customer service and transparency in pricing. Many customers express frustration over unexpected charges, inadequate support during issues, and poor communication from drivers and the company itself. Positive feedback is scarce, with some drivers noting satisfactory earnings and enjoyable interactions with passengers. However, the overwhelming sentiment highlights a need for improved customer care and accountability, as many users report feeling abandoned and undervalued, leading to a growing trend of customers seeking alternatives to Uber's services.

Was a driver
April 20, 2023

I decided to drive for Uber to make a few extra bucks primarily during Packer games since I live a couple blocks from the stadium. I submitted my documents and it took two weeks to be approved. And then drove for approximately six weeks. With Uber taking 25% off the top you don't get paid much unless you have surges. One day my account was blocked. I proceeded to call customer service and that is when the games began. Over the next two months and over eight phone calls, trying to appeal, this mistake they said that I submitted fraudulent or suspected fraudulent documents. How could I have passed the background if I submitted fraudulent documents. And if I did submit fraudulent documents, Uber didn't catch it right away and put many people at risk. Needless to say I did not submit fraudulent documents, appealed their mistake I was ultimately blocked for good. You cannot talk to anybody who makes decisions. Just airheads who apologize and speak very broken English. I wish this company would go bankrupt! It's an absolute joke. No offices that you can go to with your documentation to prove your $#*! ain't fraudulent. There must be a way to hold this company accountable for their mistakes.

You would think after the billions Uber is making they'd be able to find a decent I T. They claim to be updating the cash out function for 6 months now. If they still have not figured that out they are either doing so shady shir or withholding peoples earnings due to discrimination. I really can't tell at this point. If you guys need a new web developer I know a good one. Yell are slack fir awhile now.

It's pretty sad that the customer service department for Uber allows the customers to represent their company their company does not backup the drivers and anytime that a customer reports to Uber that the driver got into an accident the driver smoking or under the substance or that something doesn't work in their vehicle Uber allows the customer to make that option and then the driver is done. Piss poor is your all me. If it wasn't for the drivers driving the customers were they need to go. Uber would not exist. And I'm only leaving a one star because I cannot leave a 0 star.

ADDING FRAUDULENT TIPS - BEWARE
April 9, 2023

UBER fraudently charged my USAA credit card 20 euros (21.76 USD) on a 53.67 euro ride for a tip I didnt leave! I have used uber countless times and I am well versed on how to use their system I always tip my drivers but not by force and not for unauthorized amounts. Upon contacting customer service via chat they tried to tell me maybe I was confused and tipped 30 euros by accident. Lol! Are you serious? I DID NOT. I explained this was fraudulently added and they offered uber cash for fraud! Merchant doesnt have a customer service number. Ive contacted uber help chat several times and they are incompetent and unhelpful. They refuse to escalate to a manager or to correct. Had to contact my bank to report fraud.

Airport to home
April 7, 2023

I booked a ride at 2.34 PM on 04/04/2023 from airport. The guy never came, and the map showed he is 1-2 min away for like 20mmin. I was standing outside in freezing cold, 20 min later he sent a text asking where I'm, I said 6B, he asked what is 6B. That's when I realized he is not at the airport. He agreed he is not but lied saying he came and went. Original time was 12 min wait, there is no way he came and left while I was standing and scannnig LIC plates. He said he can't cancel, and I should if I can. I ended up cancelling and rebooking. His name was Rahman.

Worst is I sent a message to Uber till today no response, suppossed to call me within 24 hours. Terrible customer service for charging an arm and a leg.

I used Uber App for the first time while on holiday overseas, never again!
Customer Services were unhelpful, do not like feedback and seemed to expect it okay that I pay twice for a trip when it was the fault of their own set up.

I had WiFi in hotel booked car out to a destination that I would not have WiFi for 20days. There was no note to say I would need a pin at the end of trip, and even though this showed after I gave the initial pin it disappeared off screen as soon as we left hotel & I had no WiFi to retrieve it. I paid the driver in full plus a tip in cash. When I returned to WiFi I see that it still showed the amount outstanding.
So I contacted customer services: their two responses: I should have recorded a card on account and paid through app - my reply 1. Country of holiday wouldn't take payment from my UK card although registered 2. Even if it could I would have still be in same situation with no pin and no access to WiFi.
Uber's other response was that I either paid the outstanding balance still showing on account or it would be added to next ride. - My response if Uber did not foresee the problems not supplying a pin offline that was not my fault. I gave Uber the option of keeping me as a customer & updating the fact that payment was made in cash & that I had witnesses or I would stop using the app, share my injust experience of uber customer services on various reviews & media to warn others and to report my experience within my home country & country of holiday.

So with no reply to that message here I am sharing my bad experience of uber customer services & business model. Be warned. Personally I with take my business to one of the many other services such as Bolt or Grab from now on.

I just reached my diamond and on the app is clearly states that I'll receive my promotion once I get my diamond status. Coming to find out. How much they deceive drivers in the process. Once I have reached my diamond status. They have hidden details which isn't addressed to driver in the beginning. I called more than once. They kept hanging up on me. Than when I spoke to supervisor and was send to speak to the billing. They hang up on me again. The third call that I made. They are just full of $#*! and full of $#*! $#*!. I'm very mad fact they are more concerned about money more than their drivers. They falsely advertise things and play games. Don't make commitments that you can't keep and have hidden details in the back. They kept hanging up on me cause they knew I was right and I wanted to address the issue. They are liars and deceivers. The first picture clearly shows and says reach diamond and you get 475. The third picture say something different. Nothing adds up. The picture said nothing about me waiting end of the month to receive my 475. Liars at the greatest. Another thing don't tells us we are priority. When In fact I kept getting my phone call hung on me cause I was right and you couldn't answer any question.

I forgot my laptop money and passport
April 4, 2023

In my Uber. After 10 seconds I realized it's in the Uber, I ask Uber to call the driver and they told me they can't call, they can't give me his number, they only can send a massage. After hour I see I'm about to missed my flight but Uber keep saying they can't reach driver he might be in another ride and can't answer. I was texting the support ask them not to give driver more ride or have me make reservations, offer driver extra payment to return it, but nothing help. Uber just keep saying the driver might be in a ride and I should let him time to response. After a day (without money and any kind of documentation) I become very nervous and finally got it back with the help of the police. Uber could just tell driver he need to return it before he can get more rides, but they did nothing. Looks like they really not care about their riders.

On 3/28/23 I ordered a round trip which cost a total of $47.97 to drop my grandchildren at school. The trip was accepted by driver LaWanda license plate 48DV947. My grandchild left her tablet she uses for school in LaWanda's vehicle. I have been trying to reach out to her through Uber help for five days and she refuses to respond which leads me to believe she has stolen the tablet. Uber does not have anything in place for drivers that keep items left behind by customers nor do they have anything in place that drivers refuse to respond after Uber reaches out to them. I will be using Lyft from now on because it's apparent Uber hires thieves. Uber you need to do better. I rated 1 star only because there is no place for 0

Out of 7 attempts to get an uber ride, 5 were 'cancelled' by the driver, (that briefly appeared in the app) in order to raise the price. I was stuck at Luton airport London due to 2 hour late flight and shoddy London train service, so I decided to get an Uber. BIG MISTAKE. Originally 88pounds, uber app accepted my ride request, took a while to finalize drive details, then after several minutes, it cancelled my ride. Tried again, same thing, tried again, but the price had gone up to 118pounds. Now I know there is monkey business going on, ripping me off. Ended up with a REAL taxi for 101pounds. Similar thing happened 2 weeks before trying to get a ride to the Albert Hall. Very shady business model.

I have several bank transactions for Uber trip I have not taken

Phone customer service is terrible and rude staff

Even after a dispute was raised I still had Uber trio charges on my accounts

Told several times they can not find these charges in my account

Asked several times to provide bank evidence

Still getting nowhere and still rude staff

I have never used Uber trip and do not have my bank card stored with them

I have two face authentication for Uber eats and still this is happening

Unable to answer how or why this is happening

Unable to provide a complaints email, contact number or procedure

Still nowhere near to a refund

I have cancelled my bank card but unsure as if yet of this will stop these inner trips I have not taken

My bank is in an overdraft because of these unrecognised or authorised transactions

This is horrendous and so stressful

Stood up
March 27, 2023

We made a reservation 4 days prior for our departure for the airport for 5am. Received confirmation the night before and then at 4:30am on departure day they sent the message that they're looking for a driver. Needless to say no driver responded and we were left stranded to miss our flight. They boast about being more reliable than others but we have never had any thing this terrible happen in our lives. Not sure why they don't secure a driver when we make the reservation. Not sure why the my lie to you the whole time that your reservation is on track and then at 5:05am they cancel the reservation. Unbelievable!

Uber sucks
March 25, 2023

I was using Ubers ride app when they started bombarding me with offers to drive. I told them because of my background I'm sure I would not be able to be kept insisting, so I applied and then when does ongoing background report with Checkr it was freaking ridiculous. I withdrew my application to separate times and they just kept going and going on with it and finally I complain to Checkr because they went way past seven years which there should be nothing on my report, so what do they do but they go back to the beginning of time with my report and send that to the Uber it was not only embarrassing but ridiculous I hate these vote both these companies they think they know a person. They do not very unprofessional, and I am reporting them to whoever I have to it's none of their freaking business to go back that far in my life when I never wanted to job in the first place

Horrendous
March 19, 2023

Horrendous company. Used in Italy and they charged me 35 euro for a 3 Mile journey, when the app said between 11-17euro. When I contacted them they just fobbed me off telling me I needed to contact the local taxi company, not sure why I should when u booked it through uber app, took no responsibility and kept replying to my complaint with the exact same email every time and just ignored my comments. Will never use again

March 18, 2023

Don't work for Uber they don't pay. Don't work for Uber. They don't pay their drivers. I just did three deliveries and they did not pay me for the very last one. And it brought me a half an hour out of my zone.

On Feb. 28,2023, we were in down Key West and needed a ride to take our son from our motel back over to Stock Island, where he was crewing on a boat. He had to be back by 9:00 p.m., so at 8:00 p.m. I went on the Uber app and scheduled a pick-up for 8:30. At 8:15 I checked the app and it said "No driver available." At 8:20 I checked again and it said the same thing: "No driver available." "Okay," I thought, "they can't do it this time." So I called a taxi, which arrived promptly, and we sent him off.

At 8:35, I got a phone call from a pleasant-sounding older guy who said he was parked in front of the motel waiting for his rider. I told him we had moved on because the app told us there was no driver available. "Who told you that?" he asked, sounding incredulous. "The app." "Who?" "The app did!" I said I was sorry we had missed connections, and we signed off cordially enough.

Sometime within the hour, though, I received an email saying that we were being charged $33 for the missed ride. (The total fare would have been about $43.) My question to Uber -- and I have to throw this out into the ether because it's impossible for a mere customer to get hold of a live voice at the Monolith -- if it's incumbent on ME to cancel when you say YOU aren't fulfilling the order, at the very least why is there not a prompt informing me that I have to do that if I want to avoid charges? That would be transparent of you. But transparency is not the name of the game, obviously; the name of the game is Gotcha.

After a dozen decent rides with Uber, I'm going back to taxis and effective communications.

CIGARETTE BOMB
March 10, 2023

I hadn't caught an Uber in like 4 years. The day I finally decide to give them another chance, is the day an older gentleman picks me up in a truck that smelled like sentient cigarettes bombed the place. The driver was nice I guess, but he has a real problem with a nicotine addiction. And, I'm ALLERGIC to smoke. After the ride, I started itching all over and still feel bad.
