We are new to Trusted Housesitters but so far, we have been successful in all three sits that we have applied for. We have completed one sit, with the next two to be undertaken in the next 4 weeks. As far as the website goes, it is very easy to navigate, the concept is great, and the whole process from registration to applying for sits, to communicating with homeowners, and the review process after the sit is all seamless. If homeowners have been let down by sitters, that is the fault of the sitter not being reliable etc and not the fault of trustedhousitters who merely provide the platform for users. We are looking forward to further opportunities to sit in some of the amazing locations listed on the website.

Our review of Trusted Housesitters is one of an enjoyable experience and one we hope to continue with into the future. The joining process was easy and the access to the wide range of sitting opportunities are incredibly varied and interesting. We've completed our first assignment and couldn't have wished for such great owners and disciplined dogs in idyllic surroundings. After reading experiences on Recent reviews of TH, we've now been alerted to the renewal membership issue and have made a note to check this won't be a problem for us in the future.

I have been using trustedhousesitters for a few years now and it has enabled me to travel the world, meet great people, explore places I might never have gone to and another plus is taking care of all the pets. I've taken care of horses, donkeys, goats, chickens, fish and of course dogs and cats. On my next assignment I'll be taking care of some crabs but I probably won't have to take them for walks. Walking the pets also is a good form of exercise. Another plus is the good vibs from the owners when they come home and the house is clean and the pets have been well taken care of. This website does a great job of meeting the needs of home and pet owners as well as the intrepid traveler.

If you like to travel and you like animals then this is for you. It doesnt matter what age you are, you will find a housesit that you can manage. Ive been finding pet/house sitting assignments for two years now and it just keeps getting better. You can travel to other countries or go to different parts of your own country. You stay in neighborhoods not hotels and you really get an insight into how the local a community works. Trusted Housesitters is totally professional and the website is simple to manage.

Dominique was instantly welcoming and very accommodating. Going out of her way to make sure I had a friendly network to hook up with for cocktails or a bite to eat if I so desired. I had a seven week sit in the most beautiful riverside apartment with lovely neighbors. The cats completely won my heart, absolutely adorable little characters, full of spirit and fun. Very affectionate and loving. I was more than sad to leave them. I fully recommend a sit for Dominique and the boys.

Highly delighted with the service I have received from the company since joining late last year. Everything is easy to understand and both the sitter and owner has complete confidence with all details emailed within the site. The online service has also been invaluable, particularly when I was new to the site and unable to work through how everything went. The company have also taken on board a number of my suggestions for improvement which is very encouraging as they really listen to constructive criticism.

My sitter had to cancel with less than a day's notice, so I had no way of finding someone on the site to replace her before I left the country. Ended up having to pay someone local instead, and trustedhousesitters refused to refund my subscription fee. Stay away unless you want to risk being out over $100 for nothing.

Edit: In response to the trustedhousesitters reply below, I don't see how you expect to be able to help me find a new sitter when my flight leaves in a few hours. I certainly would not let anyone into my home when I haven't had a chance to talk to them first.

There may be lots of time left on my membership, but this is my big trip for the year, and the price of membership is absolutely not worth having someone watch my cats for a night or a weekend when I could easily have a neighbor do that.

It shouldn't be my responsibility to make sure someone else has their paperwork in order to enter the country. I'm very disappointed in my first and last experience with this site.

I did not know it was automatically renewed and charged until I got a bill I contacted them within 2 days of knowing and asked to cancel but they could not refund because I was pass the 20 days(?) I am extremely overwhelmed this year and didn't even realize I was probably charged last year. I have not needed them for over 2 years. I don't expect a refund for the last year only the one I found out about 2 days ago. This is unacceptable to me very BAD Service. I will not refer this company to anyone anymore... I gave it a 2* because the gal we used over 3 years ago was GREAT. ALTHOUGH we did have to go through 3 to get her!

Had a great time visiting all the places, staying in beautiful homes and enjoying the company of adorable animals. Definately recommend joining trusted house sitters, Ive never regretted it.

I joined in November 2017 and I have just finished my fourth sit. I have cared for two dogs, two cats, two birds and numerous fish. I have been to Portland and Seattle but have also done two nearby in New Jersey and in Brooklyn. I have enjoyed them all and met really nice people. This is a wonderful way to travel and be a local as well as doing a good deed. It is wonderful to have the company of a cat or dog. I recommend Trusted Hosesitters very highly.

We have just done our very 1st housesit with Trusted Housesitters. Wow, it was fantastic!. We expected to go to a small town but it was a beautiful city in New England NSW Australia with lots to see. What a hidden gem. Thank you Trusted Housesitters as without you we would probably never have gone to this divine place. It is also a really fantastic way to meet new friends and learn all about the area and the country in general.
We highly recommend joining Trusted Housesitters and have the opportunity to travel the world and look after much loved pets without having to pay for accommadation.
