After retirement my husband and I travel a lot and have used this platform many times, what a great idea! This website is truly fantastic. You get to help people have a relaxed stay away from their home and pets whilst they allow you to live within a community and learn so much from the locals as you walk the dogs or yourself. I find staying put for a month allows me to get below the usual tourist vista and start to understand how the country functions. I feel honoured to be part of this organisation. You can ask lots of questions of the owners before commiting yourself and can read other sitters reviews so you have a feel for the situation. I have even been lucky enough to visit prior to the sit as I was passing through the area a month earlier and that made the changeover so much smoother as the dogs knew me already. As with any opportunity it is what you make of it, the more you put in the greater the rewards. Thank you Trusted House Sitters for accepting me as a member.

The result was a seamless process that worked extremely well for us all not to mention the animals which were wonderful.

I just saw a comment saying Trustedhousitters post fake listing on the website, well my personnal experience is I got to go in holiday twice in London in a big house keeping nice cats for even nicer owner, ones in switzerland, just weeks ago in a big house in the France countryside with the most adorable dog ever, and I'm leaving in few weeks for a last minute weekend in Vienna, all that never having to pay an hotel or an airbnb!
Plus I really got lucky to met extraordinary people all the time, only great experiences and I recommand it to everybody! Don't hesitate one minute!
Ive been house sitting for 5 years and I've never had a dog so undemanding. Kate got him from a shelter when he was 6 and he came with the whole package. There apartment complex is fabulous! Makes me want to move in, great decor, pool and lobby. Kate met me at the apt and left me printed notes. This was just a 2 night stay, wish it could've been longer, I told Henry I would love to be back and take care of him again.
Have completed several house sits now and have really enjoyed the experience. Love to travel, so THS offers an excellent opportunity to stay in different locations worldwide whilst indulging in pet care away from home. Have met some lovely people too along the way so can happily recommend.
I already did several house sits through trusted house sitters and each time I had a great experience. I love to travel when looking after someones pets as I miss my own pets when I travel and it gives me the chance to experience a country from the local perspective and not from a hotel or hostel. I love to talk when letting out a dog or meet the neigbours and do local things. Recommended!
Hugo was great in showing me the neighborhood, Calypso and Gatsby were great company while reading. The neighborhood and neighbors were very friendly. And William's guidelines are extremely organized and thorough. I really loved Charlotte, the rose gardens, the tulip trees, the cat cafe, many coffee shops and pubs. I had a super time. I have used this site a few times to find house sitting opportunities, both in Australia and overseas. The process to register was a bit time intensive, but as it should be, to ensure peace of mind for both parties. The people I have sat for have all been lovely decent people who just want someone to care for their home and pets so they can go away and not worry. For the sitter, it provides free accommodation for providing the caring which I have not found too be too onerous and at times, truly delightful.
I had a lovely sit near Gatwick airport and enjoyed a company of a very lovable cat. I am now on my next sit and again have a great time with two cute kitties. I am looking forward to explore more of the world using this site to help me meet people, enjoy the company of animals and cut travel costs.

Had a lovely time looking after Mylo and Mouse. Mouse is still a young puppy and prone to chewing but we were given lots of warning so we could prepare Nd just kept certain doors closed. Found it best to keep Mouse on a lead at times as he could run off but overall they were very well-behaved boys. It was nice being a short walk from the canal so we had lots of great scenery to enjoy. Angela and Mike sent a very detailed list of instructions before which was incredibly helpful and she was very quick to answer our texts if we had a question. A fun couple of boys in a nice location. Really enjoyed ourselves!

Great website which is being continually improved and now they have an app. As house and petsitters full time, the welcome guides are really helpful so we know what to expect at a house sit. Site shows clear photography and is easy to navigate. With twice daily updates there is always an option for sitting.
We love to travel, as such we don't don't keep our own pets anymore. It is such a joy to care for pets in their own homes and explore the areas in which they live.

I just had my first house-sit which I did locally just to see if it was something I'd like to do in other states and countries. I am very happy to report it was a great experience and I am looking forward to more sits. The owners I sat for were very welcoming and generous, and had everything I needed. This site is not fake nor does it have fake listings. My sister-in-law has done this for a couple of years and she loves it too! I definitely recommend this site. The 4 stars is only because I find the website a little confusing at times but to be fair, it's probably me, not the site!
I had an amazing housesit for a cute little old dog and its super welcoming owners. It was really lovely to have such a good practical communication as well as such a friendly and super welcoming exchange between the dog/house owners and myself. They were super sweet to me and it was lovely to meet them as well as Bertie, who I was minding. The house and my room were impeccable and I was left feeling very free and entrusted after the instructions... which was very relaxing when you stay in someone else's home. Bertie was a sweet companion and I was very lucky to meet Marcelle, Simon and Martha as I feel we will enjoy each others company again of which I feel very lucky! Thank you!
Had my first house/pet sitter experience with 2 adorable dogs and everything went well.
