We have been using Trusted House Sitters over 4 years, and all the experiences we had were amazing. We met great people, lovely pets and made friends all around the world. If you like travels and love pets, go for it. Be a pet or house sitter is a big responsibility, but also an awesome opportunity to travel and see the world.
A well organised site that allows home owners and house sitters to easily reach and communicate with one another. This allows Trusted House Sitters to become a Community. The variety of homes in the UK and worldwide is amazing. The two house and pet sits my husband and I have embarked on have been wonderful experiences for us with lovely friendly and approachable home owners.
We have had problems with the site, mostly I suspect because we changed our servers. THS was extremely patient in helping us work through our difficulties.

When beginning our "houssitting" career six years ago, we were members of several housesitting sites, after a short while we found that all our "jobs were coming from this one super trusted houssitting company. Being Sitters and Hosters with the site for quite sometime now we can honestly say that this is just the best system going.
It's lovely to know that your house and pets are loved and cared for while you are away.It is the most stress free way to get away when you have much loved animals to be taken care of
It was a great opportunity to have a visit to an awesome town near Cape Town. Taking care of the pets and home was a huge pleasure. And the availability of a vehicle was an enormous plus. Thanks Geoff and Jenn!
Although I am new to this platform, I have had such a wonderful experience that I am going to look for more sits and wonderful pet and house sit experience. Presently, I cannot have my pets with me as I am in the US to start a business and my family remains in my home country with our pets. I miss not having pets around me as well as the peace and quiet that comes with a sit. I loved it and recommend THS to any pet lover that wants to render a decent, reliable and safe service to our fellow pet-lovers.
I've now been with trustedhousesitters for several years. I've been many places and done some wonderful sits. Always at hand, they are extremely helpful and competent. I fully recommend them
I have been so impressed with the way the system works, from setting up my own profile as a sitter to looking at possible house/pet sits around Australia (and potentially around the world, although I haven't tried that part yet). When I have needed any assistance from THS staff, they have been immediately responsive and have answered all my questions; the first pet-sit I applied for, I was accepted immediately; all early communications were handled through the website with ease. I have really enjoyed my experience with THS.

The owners of the chateau that we stayed I. To care for their two elderly dogs said they have used THS since it's inception in 2010 by Rachel & Andy Peck & have never had a problem.
If they needed any information /advice they simply ring THS with whom they have a good r/ship. It was reassuring for us to hear from the perspective of the pet/house owners.
Our experience with THS as sitters was seamless from the beginning. They sent friendly reminders in the lead up to the house sit & promptly answered any questions that we had as first time sitters.
We look forward to future involvement with THS & have recommended this business to many friends who have joined as it is a concept that works really well for all parties.

We are new to THS but so far have found the site thorough and user friendly. There seems to be plenty of sitting opportunities and we appreciate the regular updates. Our first sit was a great success and both the owner and pet were a perfect match. It was great to provide peace of mind for the owner whilst enjoying a welcome break in a new location with the added bonus of caring for a loving pet! We hope this is the first of many opportunities. Love the app which makes on the go searches so easy.
Our experience after ten months as pet sitters has been great and I've introduced friends and people I meet to the site too and I wouldn't do that if I wasn't happy with it. We've had five short breaks and one week away so far and loved every one of them. As with all things, you have to be careful in your dealings with people, but the vast majority on this site are honest, caring humans and absolutely delightful animals. The website team have been supportive, friendly and helpful in the few dealings I've had with them. We will be signing up again next year.
I've just completed my first sit and have to say it went very successfully and smoothly. The site seems to work well with numerous sits advertised and presumably a similar number of applicants for those sits.
Despite having just read some poor reviews for the company, I can only speak as I find and I have no complaints. I'm happy to pay their fee and will hopefully continue to get many more sits.
Watch out, they will steal your money. They do not provide refunds like they mentioned. I signed up for 1 sit that I needed, and did not find a sitter or get any applications. I asked for a refund (this was only after 3 days) and they refused to give me a refund. You unfortunately can't use the website at all without signing up, and be careful... once you sign up there is no going back even if you don't find anyone. So you are giving them free money. Extremely disappointed with the service and with their customer service side of things. They were rude and unhelpful in their emails.
As a single female, the process involved in being a part of the trusted housesitters world gave me confidence in being a house sitter. The experience so far has been excellent.

I love the concept of meeting strangers and having them become friends. I really enjoy the variety of sits that are available to apply to and I would recommend THS to anyone who wants to help others and their pets, while exploring a new destination.

We have a really high success rate through the platform, so it's a rare circumstance that you'd find yourself in, especially with your dogs and amazing listing, where you don't have any applications from sitters at all. Hopefully, the other reviews that we have on SiteJabber are a testament to the success that the vast majority of our members are able to have through the platform.
We remain convinced that we would be able to help you find a sitter and make the absolute most of the opportunities available to you at the moment.
We do have policies in place around refunds and we have this policy for good reason in order to prevent misuse of the site and the service that members have benefitted from in that time.
