A website with a delicate design, lots of opportunities for sits all over the world and a wholehearted approach to establish trust between sitters and owners. The only thing we miss is a possibility to get email alerts about new listings in a specific area.
We saw some friends were using this site and they have done about 80 house sits now! We joined last year and we have now done 7 sits in 5 countries! We love it, as we don't like long term hotel rooms. We love having access to a full kitchen and usually, hosts say to help ourselves to what is in the fridge/ pantry. We have had a variety of pets to look after, but the house and pet obligations are outlined in the 'offer'. There must be over 100 new sits advertised per day. Some opportunities are keenly sought, and we haven't been chosen for every opportunity we have applied for, but the system appears open and communication with hosts has always been good through the system. Our feedback from hosts is that they are just as happy as we are with the site and the system. The first time for a host seems like a giant leap of faith in humanity, trusting that the strangers that they invite to their homes will respect their home and pets. We would look at being hosts if our youngest child ever leaves home! We always try to ensure the home is cleaner than when we arrived, the pantry is just as full as when we arrived, and the pets are happy. We set our own parameters for what we want from our next house-sit. It is possible to link a few sits together if you are happy to travel between and spend a few nights in paid accommodation. We love it and you might too!
In the year I have been a member they have been there when I needed them and when there has been an issue, they have been thoughful and ethical in their decisions.
Most of my hosts have become my friends and I would never have had the chance to meet them if not for THS and for that I am grateful.
Probably, you don't think Missouri for your next destination, but if you like waking in trails and history, this is the place. Carolyn was very nice and the house very cozy. The dogs were so sweet, we loved them at first sight, we had a wonderful time. We felt that Carolyn trusted us. And so are we, I can really say we are trusted house sitters.

I looked at this site for the Christmas week this 12/23/2018, to have my two small dogs cared for while I was going away. There were many sitters showing availability on their schedule on the site, same as what I needed. This site allows non members to view sitters schedule and their location to help you see where and when they are available, before joining. I was really motivated to join, it is for a year membership when paying. I messaged well over 20 sitters that said they were available, local ones as well. All 20 thus far replied back they are not available. I get that there is no guarantee you will find a sitter, but all the sitters still had all their dates not updated as they were available on my dates needed on the site. It's deceptive, and what's worse is potential new members are really motivated to join because they are seeing all the sitters availability meeting the possible new members needs, so they join, like I did. They refused to refund my money, said I already set up the account and messaged all the sitters. What a scam, your probably not going to get a sitter, and their information is old not updated, don't join, it's a scam, they are not taking responsibility for inaccurate information, just take your money, won't refund you. Setting the account up is so much work too, can take well over an hour.

Sue and Doug are very friendly and communicate well. I was able to meet them before the sit, and they provide a binder filled with everything you need to know about their home and their cat. Their house is very clean and comfortable with wonderful views of Colorado National Monument. Lulu the cat is sweet and a joy to care for. I would definitely house sit for Sue and Doug again.
We have now experienced three Trusted HouseSitters house- and pet-sits, two international and one nearby. Each time, we have enjoyed the sits and had wonderful times not only with the pets but getting to know the owners. In short, each experience has been unique and deeply enriching. We enjoy perusing the daily email opportunities and benefit from the clarity and helpfulness of the website and staff.
The dogs are fun and entertaining. The house very comfortable with beautiful views all around.

We joined Trusted Housesitter a year ago and have nothing but praise for this service. We have invited housesitters into our home three time to look after our home and our cat while we were traveling. All of them are such lovely people and we felt that we had old friends looking after things for us during our absence. We felt the same about the two times that we were the house and pet sitters.

I don't have pets anymore, but I do have a hybrid Prius. Net result: I can get away easily and drive anywhere in North America. With Trusted House Sitters I can stay in a cool places for free and get my furry friend time in- all with a few clicks. I've done five different sits so far, plus two repeats- and it has been fantastic every single time. This has changed my leisure time into adventure time. Love it!
We have been on 2 house sits so far and the system workings wonderfully. So easy to use and keep in touch with people. Contacted Trusted Housesitters help line the other day because I hadn't received advice of new house-sits for a few days (which I love to scroll though with a cup of tea in the mornings) and found that my provider had blocked the site but everything remedied within 5 minutes. Great service, great staff, great site. Keep it going.
If you need a smile this is the sit for you. The energy and quirky behaviour of a Great Dane will have you believing they are a chihuahua. Especially when the 175 lb. Loki sits on your knee.
The house is cozy and convenient to malls and restaurants, grocers, museums. Wifi and tv work well. You will be rewarded with a feeling of having had a vacation after your stay. Sue and Clarence are great hosts. All positive reports.
