Customer service was bad, the inspect team of shop-hers not doing their job seriously! They didn't inspect the stuff seriously as the seller described! Once shop- hers sent the bag or shoe to you and you found out not as described, they don't care, they just want you return it back then they can charge you 10% restocking fee or they will tell you selling the item at their site again, then they can earn the 18% transaction fee again. Be careful, someone call Blair who is working in the shop-hers customer service. Whatever you try to telling her the issue of the seller's Bag or shoes not as described, she doesn't care and try to hang up your phone. So what I think is shop-hers customer service is a meanlingless dept. unless you place order with them that they can providing you good service.

I've purchased two pairs of shoes. The first pair of shoes were reasonably priced and we're just as described. However, the rubber on the second pair of shoes was discolored. I immediately initiated a return on the basis of item not as described. A return label was emailed and I received my refund within 1 week.

I love Shop-Hers!
June 30, 2015

I love Shop-Hers! The items found on the website are great and affordable. I've sold a couple of items through Shop-Hers and it is such an easy process. I definitely will recommend Shop-Hers to my sisters and friends.

I have had nothing but amazing customer service and purchases at Shop Hers. I highly recommend shopping on this site. The Sure Shop is so helpful to ensure you are receiving the correct item. I have made many purchases and am going to keep shopping on this site.

I tried to sell new Christian Louboutin pumps to a buyer TWICE. The buyer misread European sizing and purchased incorrect sizing. However, Tradesy sided with the buyer and refunded her purchase amount. This goes AGAINST the stated policies thAts on their website. I am not Norstrom, where you can buy products for 30 days and return.

The entire transaction was aggravating. I handled many questions, from the initial questions of sizing to the buyers accusation that the box was fake, as a way to get out of paying for the transaction, to then learning that I wasn't going to receive the transaction after all. I would rather work with Realreal or Ebay than Tradesy to deal with shady customer service practices. I am not a retailer, especially when I'm not in charge of the return policy!

When I called, customer service is equally aggravating and frustrating. I am removing my listings. I am still waiting for a $800 item to be returned to me.

I recently bought a Cartier watch that was labeled "Good As New". When the item arrived to their Sure Shop inspection team, I got notified that there were actually very noticeable scratches on the face of the watch. I received additional photos and ultimately decided to cancel. I get that they can't catch everything, but at least on this particular incident I was relieved to have been saved the hassle of dealing with it afterwards. Thumbs up!

I know Tradesy has been the talk of town for a while, so I gave it a try. I'd say if you're a buyer you are pretty well protected - you can return an item for any reason, even if you simply didn't like it (and you'd get a store credit instead of a full refund). Though I heard the return process could be a pain in the butt.

As a seller, I'd say it's terrible, or plain unpleasant. On top of the 9% cut Tradesy takes, you also have to be VERY careful about your credit. Because the credit is within the Tradesy website, it's not your money until you transfer it to your Paypal account (with an additional 2-3% cut from Paypal). Tradesy has EVERY RIGHT to terminate or suspend your account for any reason should you get a complaint (albeit unreasonable) from a buyer (read their T&Cs carefully - there's a catch all phrase to say that basically, Tradesy can do whatever they want to your account at any time without warning). They won't give you a warning. It will just happen, and one day you'll realise you won't be able to log in and all your store credit is gone!

Their 'secret closet', aka Strawberry Fields, also has the right to re-sell any of your goods that have been returned by a customer. You might not even be able to ask for an item back for re-selling after a failed sale. They say they have a pro-team that looks into whether the goods are authentic or not. I understand if it's a knock-off then of course the seller should get penalised or banned. But even authentic, well described goods can be deemed by the Tradesy team 'not as described' - they'll just send you an email saying so, no explanations made. It happened to me and a few other sellers who have voiced their complaints online. It is COMPLETELY up to Tradesy's discretion; aka, they can screw you over should they so wish.

They're also not entirely honest. They say they'd clean up your images in 24 hours. It's never really 24 hours... your item image could be waiting days to weeks before it's 'cleaned'. I've read reviews that Strawberry Fields (the Tradesy secret closet) sells knock-off items too - I haven't had the experience, but buy at own risk.

They allow anyone to sell - it's an internet market place after all. Unlike ebay that counters this by reviews and ratings, there's no such system in place. You have NO IDEA who your buyer (or seller) is. Do background research on your buyer. I've dealt with buyers before who were dishonest and returned on the get-go, never having the intention to buy; or you could see they were reselling the same items they bought on Tradesy (didn't even bother changing the photos or original descriptions) for a higher price, only to discover that they were criminal record holders in public data-bases.

It's a good idea, but it's not a perfect system. The hype is over-rated. I'd say Tradesy needs to work on its own honesty and communication first before parading themselves as a first-class web selling market of integrity. They are very far from that still.

I've purchased 7 things from them from 4 different sellers. No issues whatsoever. One of the sellers did take a bit long to ship, but it's a marketplace. I wish they have a place for me to rate the sellers, but great experiences overall. No sure why there are such extreme reviews here... are we shopping at the same place? Will continue to shop there.

Item was not a true description. Followed guidelines of their returning process, sent documents of proof, I don't think, it was the same bag the seller was selling. Tradsey responded with a STORE CREDIT! After repeated calls and emails of the proof I they suspended my account! So I've lost $760.00 I will be disputing the charge! Be careful a seller can describe bag like new. Nothing wrong with it. But if the little icon says gently used! They won't return your money! STORE CREDIT

Hello Elizabeth,

I am sorry to hear about the negative experience you had while on Tradesy. In order to request a return appeal, which is a request to reverse the determination of our returns team, you may send an email to [email protected]. An account suspension is common after a dispute is filed against Tradesy. This is an done in an attempt to prevent buyers from creating their own return policy, by not complying with our policies/terms of service. That being said, assuming a chargeback has not been filed, there is no reason in this scenario why your account would be suspended. Please feel free to reach out in the event that further clarification is needed.

Please contact us at 310.912.7966 Monday-Friday 8:00am- 4:00pm PST. Saturday- Sunday 8:00am- 2:00pm PST or via email at [email protected].

Shop-hers Scam
June 3, 2015

I strongly advise consumers to stay away from shop-hers.com. I spent over $2000. On 3 Chanel items - 2 packages came with EMPTY boxes, the items were MISSING. The 3rd item which I spent $1300. On, I Never even received an email saying it was shipped Or given a tracking number, yet my paypal account was charged the Full amount. I have opened cases in PayPal for this Fraud. Read about other complaints filed against this fly by night website on ic3.gov, pissedconsumer.com, the BetterBusinessBureau, etc. This site is NOT SAFE to buy OR sell on. They Lie about the commissions they will pay you if you are a seller. Does NOT get any Worse than this.

Overpriced website
June 2, 2015

I was just browsing through Shop Hers looking at Birkin's and Kelly's (I have two and am interested in another). The rest of the online resellers sell Birkins between 8-10k and shophers has them for 20k!?!? Just a word to shoppers, you can get WAY better prices on therealreal or vestiarecollective.com and other sites. Do your due diligence! I also hear from other reviews that the items could be fake on this site, so not only are they overpricing, they could be fake! I haven't bought anything so I can't say I got something fake, but I know they are very over priced!

Hi Judy. I'm so terribly sorry that you feel this way. The majority of the Hermes handbags on our site are significantly under that of retail and for the most part, under 10k. The only handbags that you see upwards of 20k are exotic skin Birkins and special editions. Shop Hers is a marketplace so buyers are welcome to make seller; s offers and more times then not, our sellers accept offers. On Shop Hers we do allow sellers to pick a price that they feel most comfortable with but that doesn't mean that they can't be swayed to accept a lower offer. On Shop Hers, We guarantee the authenticity of all merchandise on the site. Your credit card will not be charged until the product is manually vetted by our team of professionals. We take this policy incredibly seriously and have never sold an item that is inauthentic. I'm happy to chat offline about this policy and any other questions you may have about the platform. Please email me at [email protected]

To abbreviate of VERY LONG and FRUSTRATING story... ordered loubotins and inquired about the European conversions prior to purchase... ordered second pair a week later. First order came... incorrect size = didn't fit. Pissed. Second order, obviously know will not fit, cancelled the order prior to shipment. I was okay with the 5% restocking fee for both order yet my refunds were consistently $50-$60 shorter than what they should have been. When I called / emailed about this I received rude emails from a girl named "Camille" who was very rude and stood by her incorrect math. Seriously, if your going to be an a%%hole at least have your numbers correct. Than they proceeded to ship me a package that I DID NOT order which was promptly refused when FedEx shows up (confused) and THEN charged a mysterious $600 that NO ONE had an explanation... then got ANOTHER package sent to me which again was refused. WTF i mean someone clearly doesn't know what the f$&k they're doing and AGAIN I got charged... and yet again had to contact my credit card company.

Moral of the story Shop-Hers = shady crooks. NOT WORTH the HEADACHE. I'll just go to Neimans and pay the money!

I've sold 3 items and purchased 2 items on the site, and overall I'd say my experience has been decent.

As a seller:

As advertised, Tradesy provides you with a pre-paid shipping package. Beware though - the largest shipping kit they provide is large enough for maybe a sweater, at best; definitely no shoes or normal sized handbags. I made the mistake of thinking their shipping kit comes with a box (they do not), but I purchased a box on my own and they promptly reimbursed me for the cost of the box.

The only real problem I have as a seller is the fact that Tradesy advertises "free shipping" to the buyer... but it's really included in the price of the listing. For example, I currently have a shirt listed at $9, but Tradesy tacks on a $7.50 shipping cost, so my listing shows up as $16.50 to buyers, who think they are getting "free shipping". It doesn't sit well with me that the shipping isn't clearly known to buyers, and honestly a $7.50 shipping cost (the lowest cost tier) is ridiculous for a $9 item. I also have listed a designer handbag, where the tacked on shipping cost is $52 (costs go up as your selling price goes up). $52? Seriously? There should be some sort of upper cap to the shipping, anything over $25 seems really ludicrous. Of course none of this is advertised to the buyer and just increases the cost of the item and makes it harder to sell.

No complaints about getting paid. Process is fair and quick.

As a buyer:

I have purchased 2 pairs of designer shoes, both exactly as advertised, But don't be fooled and make sure to do careful research before purchase; this is like eBay, where Tradesy won't get involved unless you dispute that the item is not as described. Unlike eBay there is no system of seller ratings, so it's up to the buyer to do their due diligence and just hope for the best, and hope that in case a dispute is opened, Tradesy will side with them.

Overall I do enjoy the site - it's easy to sell and easy to buy. I would cautiously recommend to both buyers and sellers.

I have been a seller on the site pretty much since its inception. In the beginning, payouts were processed within a day or two of sale completion. These says there is no rhyme or reason. It could be 5 days, 6 days, 7 days. You just never know which is frustrating. There needs to be some consistently there.

As another reviewer mentioned, I am losing confidence in their staff. I did have one sold item mysteriously not turn up in the package. Two items in a package and the most expensive not there... Hopefully, it was an isolated incident and won't happen again. If it does, I'm gone and I will file a police report.

In addition, customer service does leave a lot to be desired. Those little girls are rude. I have many curt emails from them, and yes, some messages have simply gone unanswered.

Overall, the selling experience has been OK. I think some of their competitors like Tradesy have better quality customers. It seems like since they introduced the Make an Offer option, the tire kickers have sprung up. Who really thinks they can get a $2,000 item for $900? Really?

Bottom line: Improve SH needs to improve its payout process, better train customer service reps and consider introducing a Counteroffer option for sellers or do away with the Make an Offer feature altogether.

I ordered a pair of Roger Vivier flats--flats I had already tried on at Neiman Marcus, but wanted to get good deal on online. I knew the size I needed--a size 5. The shoes they shipped were MUCH larger than the size represented on the website. There is nothing on the shoe to indicate the actual size. Now Shop-Hers wants to deduct a restocking fee and make me pay my own shipping to return the mislabeled item?!?!?! I'll never purchase from them again.

STAY AWAY - especially for big ticket items.

I made the big mistake of trusting their "Sure Shop Guarantee" team of "experts," whom they claim will authenticate each item before it's sent to the customer. Why I trusted this is beyond me. They sent me a clearly fake pair of shoes. I have many authentic shoes by the same designer and these aren't even close.

I should have checked the seller's other items, but I foolishly trusted them to do that for me. Upon realizing they had sent me a counterfeit item, I went back to the seller's "closet" and there were many obviously fake items that are marked "sold" -- meaning ShopHers had "authenticated" and approved each of those transactions.

They've set up a great system to scam customers: they claim they "authenticate" items, BUT you have no choice but to take their word for it. After I told customer service they sent a fake, their only was response was that the item was "vetted by our Sure Shop Team, and it is indeed 100% authentic." However, they can offer no proof -- and that doesn't stop them from taking your money. The burden of proof should be on them given that they are profiting, and that they advertise themselves on the basis of "authenticity" -- it should NOT be on the customer.

HERE'S THE THING: Ultimately, I will have to pay to ship them back AND I will have to pay a restocking fee. So this scam is win-win for their company; even when they make a mistake, or if they simply flat-out lie about an items authenticity, THEY STILL MAKE MONEY.

This is not necessarily a big deal for smaller items like the one I bought (I only paid $75), but if you're thinking of dropping a bunch of cash on a Chanel or Hermes, DON'T DO IT; buy it from someplace else. A "restocking" fee on an Hermes could be over $1000! Sure it LOOKS like you'll save a lot through ShopHers…. But if they scam you like they did me, you'll lose big.

Thank you for your feedback. We understand your concern for authenticity, and this is precisely the reason why we have our Sure Shop Team in place to make sure that you are protected against inauthentic items. They compare consistencies within the brand, looking at fabrication, hardware, logo markings and all details. Rest assured the Salvatore Ferragamo Flats you received were reviewed and vetted by our team of processionals, and they have found the shoes to be consistent with the Salvatore Ferragamo brand. As we mentioned in our email response to you, we are more than happy to have our team take a second look and accept the return if you are unhappy with your purchase. We'd appreciate the chance to make this right. Please email us at [email protected]. We look forward to hearing from you.

Returns are easily done by the wonderful Camille who is in charge of this department. I Highly recommend this website, its a brilliant idea and the best sales possible.
