Would have given them a five at one point. There are several issues with the app, miscommunication, etc, but the main reason for the rating is that they have gone up on their commission rates, fees, etc. I have been selling and buying for a few years now. Many of my items were not high price or could not sell for what thought was fair considering new with tags, and was selling for up to 60% or more off list price! E.g. A $60 pair of Guess Sandals, never been worn as heel too high after knee surgery. Had them listed initially at $35 INCLUDING shipping. My profit would have been about $26. Then lowered, and lowered, still no takers. Now listed at $16 plus $8.50 flat rate shipping from them-I print label. I sold a pair of dressy, bendable flats with matching bag with $65-never worn. I lowered the price to $10. Then, a woman with MS said needed dressy flats for a wedding, lived in area far from decent shoe stores. Having bad luck and asked would I sell for $8.50 and shipping $8.50. How could I say no? I made $6 & change on them! I have purchased several like new coach bags for under $50. The bulk of my sales were under $18, many $10 or lower. Now, they released new info yesterday that any sales under $50, their commission fees will be a flat rate of $7.50! I have items lowered to under $10 after numerous reductions, despite many showing interest, but no bites. Yet, at one point, made about $120 in just over a 6 month period on items priced $15 or less! I sold a pair, shipped yesterday, making $6.50 for $49.00 New with tags Dr. Scholl's clogs that I reduced many times-sold day after reduced to $8.50, made $6.59! Now, much of my inventory is priced so I will take a loss on. Therefore, I have to pull out these listings. Poshmark wants $4.50, thought that was crazy. This is far worse now. I am so angry! How can I raise prices on items I've lowered b/c no movement or charge more for a top than what the tag says plus shipping? I have a coach bag and a wool coat wore once that I might be able to sell for $50+, but no guarantees. Pros: They deal with returns and if item returned, the seller keeps the earnings, regardless!
Tradesy has quite stealthily sought out the demise of sellers who sale mainstream merchandise that caters to the average shopper. A few months ago they raised their commission rates from 8.9% to 14.9%. Yesterday, they sent sellers an email stating that any items sold for $50.00 or less, they will take a flat commission rate of $7.50. I believe this is a way to push out sellers who do not consistently sale high end merchandise.
Tradesy has failed to realize that most of their earnings in totality have come from lower priced items that the real world can afford. More affluent shoppers prefer to purchase new items and enjoying the shopping experience in stores. Although it may not be now, I believe Tradesy is going to regret making this decision.
This is in reply to those who are buying items from Tradesy and state it's fake. If you want the REAL thing, go direct to the manufacturer. Any site, Tradesy - Ebay - the REALREAL - cannot guarantee that the seller is selling an authentic item. The problem is buyers want a "deal" and don't want to buy full price. The designers always run sales and have outlets, which the buyers should go to. I would never buy any luxury designer item from off the internet. Notice you don't get "fake" complaints with Levi Jeans, Ann Taylor, Uniqlo, Columbia, etc. only with the high priced designer goods.
I have been purchasing and selling on Tradesy for about 3 years. It was great initially, but in the past year or so, things have gone downhill, particularly for sellers. First, they increased their commission from 9% to 14.9% with very short notice. I get it, they needed to make money, so I kept selling and just increased the prices of my own inventory to offset some of that increase. Then I noticed they were taking commission out of my postal charges if I chose to pay postage myself. I sell many items that the postal rate is no more than $4, so I did not want to charge someone a flat rate fee of $8.50, which is Tradey's flat rate postal fee. And, they just decided to increase the flat rate fee to $10.50! That makes sense on a larger item, like a purse, but not clothes, which is a huge part of their business. So, It seems like they are ripping off the buyers on shipping fees. Then to charge the seller commission on their own postage rate is ridiculous. Today, I received notification that any item selling for less than $50 will have an automatic $7.50 flat rate commission on it. All of these changes are just causing sellers to increase their prices to a point where they are no longer competitive with other resale sites. I have sold almost $3,000 worth of stuff on their site, but just don't feel right selling on here anymore. So, I am done with this company.
Great choices and always fair prices... and rare items too! Tradesy is my goto place for accessories.
It's a good way to earn extra money from the comfort of my home, and it's fun looking at other seller's closets.
One thing I don't like about this company is that you can't return and get your money back even when the items were not well presented by the seller. Horrible
Great place to shop to get deals on high-end items! Can't wait for the Lilly top I just ordered! I also sell on Tradsey. Great place for that too!
Had a wonderful experience in ordering from Tradesy. Found exactly what I wanted at a great price, arrived at time expected, packaged well, in great condition! What more could I ask?! Love the bracelet and will probably order again from this company right away! Thanks for making it easy!
Tradesy use to be a great company to sell on about 2-3 years ago. When I would sell something their commission was way lower and the day I shipped I got paid that day. Now there commission is 14%!!! I believe it use to be 7-9% also it takes almost 3 weeks before they release your money even after the customer has received your item 2 weeks earlier. Then another 4-5 days to show up in your account. And if you ever email then it usually takes 3 business days for them to get back to you. Your better off selling on a different site don't waste your time.
All the items I purchased comes on type and safely packaged. I am so much grateful and satisfied to all my orders and so easy to placed an order.
I would like to have my purchase no later than May 9th2017 please. My purchase process was effortless and quick. I will shop more for this reason alone
Reputable products and sellers where the company stands strong on customer service. I would recommend this site to everyone.
I've bought several high quality items from Tradesy, at fantastic prices. First place I go to when looking for top designer brands that are NWT or like new. Love this site!
I have been wanting an authentic Louis Vuitton for years. A friend told me about this site and I'm hooked
Thank you
I love Tradesy. One thing I don't understand is why it won't accept PayPal Credit and only PayPal instead? Maybe that's what this "Affirm" thing is. Other than that it was seamless, and communicating with the seller made it even better!
I love Tradesy. It's fun, prices are amazing and always find my finds when I look.
Easy to navigate and we'll thought out. I recommend to all my friends.
I have purchased several items from Tradsey.com and haven't been disappointed yet. The products are authentic, and worth the price you pay. The site has a large variety of products to choose from. Great customer service and several easy payment options. I recommend that site to all my friends. I will continue to make purchases from this site.
Answer: Don't Do It! It takes at least 10 days to get paid. They prefer people that they can control. When you become successful, they will make upp a reason to suspend your account. TRADESY sell fakes, the owner is the closet owner of PENNY LANE It has been proven time and time again she sells Fakes. If you question TRADESY, they will shut your account down, and they do so WITHOUT even talking to you. Bunch of Bullies! Find an alternative. I AM IN THE MIST OF COMMENCING CLASS SUIT ACTION. THEY NEED TO BE TAUGHT A LESSON!
Answer: They advertise a strict selling policy of authentic and accurate descriptions for listing. If by chance an item received is questionable, they have a review process to protect the buyer unlike many other sites out there.
Answer: It says that everything is guaranteed authentic but you have to know your stuff to know if it is authentic. Tradesy people don't see the items unless it is sold and the buyer complains about authenticity. So if you put your trust on tradesy, you are 100% WRONG and will get scammed.
Answer: Yep. Tradesy are infamous for holding your money! They will also refund a sale without any communication with the seller, they don't even tell you why. Tradesy hooked up with Authenticate First, these people don't know what they are doing. Well the messed up big time with my bag, see it was authenticated by a very reputable company. I have ALL my bags authenticated BEFORE I list for sale and of course have the documentation to prove it. The bag was in perfect shape. Tradesy are ignorant, unprofessional and teamed up with a company (authenticate first) who have their heads where the sun don't shine. Tradesy are totally so unprofessional they have not bothered to send me an email even notifying me of the refund, I only found out when I checked on the sales delivery date to find a little sentence that says "refunded". No explanation why, nor when I can expect my property back. Punks! I am still waiting to receive my bag back. I have read on other sites that Tradesy keep the returns and seller is SOL. One seller was screwed out of 2,500 and never received her property back. Tradesy are shady. Another seller has started a class uit action. It's about time Tradesy were taught a lesson and realized that they have no right to keep sellers property. Apparently they resell the items on another site. The person who started the class usit actin has proof of same. Ironically, although some were refunded allegedly for item being fake, they resell and state that it is authentic. I have removed all my items from this shady scam company. I hope the class suit action closes this scam company down!
Answer: Don't ever do business with Tradesy ever! Learned my lesson. Bought a Chanel bag that doesn't look like anything they showed. I took some pictures of what I received vs. what they showed on their listing. They still ignorantly argued that those are the same item. They refused to refund me back the money. I finally disputed it with the credit card company. Tradesy almost ripped me off of my $1,600
Answer: I do not shop with tradesy any longer. FAKE prada duffle bag and im done.
Answer: Eileen: There is not a feedback option on Tradesy as there is with ebay and Threadflip. If I were you, I'd contact Tradesy immediately. While the seller may have purchased a bunch of bags to resell, that would definitely make me nervous. How many days has it been since you purchased the handbag? The number of days that the seller has to confirm the sale may have elapsed so you'd be in the clear. We only have so many days to confirm that we will have the item will ship in a timely manner.
Answer: I would highly recommend you look at RealReal or even ebay as I have sold over 100 items on both and although there is occasionally that one off glitch, they do protect the seller and are very fair from a buyer perspective as well. Do not use Tradesy... everything negative you read in reviews is true unfortunately. I did finally get my money back from tradesy as a seller, but I threatened them to no end and actually emailed the CEO... RUN from this site... save yourself the craziness of poor business practices. Best of luck to you!
Answer: I just had a worst experience with customer service also. I bought a chanel bag over $3K and the condition of the bag received was not the same as what was listed. The authentication card was also missing and there was no dust bag as listed. When I tried to complain & return the item, Blair said that the bag left the headquarters in perfect condition. How did the two big black marks were there within 5 second I got it if it left the headquarter in perfect condition. Instead of trying to solve the issue with the seller about the auth card, she said I could re-list the item to recoup the fund? There was no sign that the item was on final sale. If I knew there were no authentication card and the item was on final sale, I would not spend over $3K for the bag. It was the worst experience of customer service they've had. Lesson learnt and I will not do any business with this site anymore. I will write to BBB and I hope people will do the same.
