We got the turtle but not the supplies and habitat. Then I got a notice that the shipping was canceled and no one has reached out to me or let me know what was going on. No one will return my calls and I'm very angry.
The little booger arrived faster than I expected. The label for the package was created at 11:57pm 12/21 and it arrived by 10am 12/22. I even had several questions and requests, left a note in delivery instructions and was even able to get a response on both Facebook Messenger and over the phone in regards to my questions and my request for shipping were met! We got a "Caramel Leopard Tortoise" and absolutely love it! Once it took its first warm soak it was on the move like it had the zoomies! We got this as a Christmas gift for our eldest and can't wait to see the expression on his face. He has been asking for a tortoise for almost a year now. All our future reptile needs will be fulfilled through TortoiseTown! Thank you!
Was a bit worried but our baby arrived yesterday and while sluggish upon arrival (even humans would be jet lagged!) he perked right up after a nice soak and introduction to his habitat. We are so happy and can't wait for kids' response on Christmas morning. So great! Thanks Tortoise Town!
We are absolutely completely happy with our tortoise... and the people at tortoise town are the reason why!
I called and was greeted promptly. All my questions have been answered and I would highly recommend!
We just received our sweet little box turtle. He was alive and doing great! Thank you!
I ordered a baby (well developed) red eared slider on Dec 7th at 12:00pm with around a 50$ "overnight fee" to make the total around $154.00. I received the turtle Dec 13th. She is a happy healthy baby turtle, and exactly what we wanted, but I wish there was more information about possible delays and them not shipping Thursday-Sundays. It's is for the animals safety of course, but I would have ordered sooner if I had know this information. Overall very happy and would use them again.
Ordered a baby Russian Tortoise from them about 6 years ago. He was healthy when he arrived. He's happy and healthy now.
GREAT SERVICE! We absolutely LOVE our new baby Hermann tortoise who arrived this week. She is perfect, interactive, and adored by my kids. It was easy to work with this company. They e-mailed back same day when I had questions. They shipped exactly when they said they would 2 days after I contacted them and our tortoise arrived the day that was scheduled packaged carefully. The phone number didn't work when I called, but e-mailing was easy and fast and actually more convenient, so I would try that if you have questions.
Tortoise Town won't be straight with emails or calls so I'm going to tell all our friends who have been asking us where to get their new family member from NOT HERE! Ordered on the 26th and nothing but a run around. Said at first high temps. Even though it was the coolest day for both NJ and Florida the day they should have shipped. At first it was later this week. Then next week. They said our tortoise was in Florida (where I am) and spoke to the rep in Florida on the phone. It's not. Gave me her bosses info to call and Brian won't answer. They want to charge 20% to cancel. They can ship to Florida from NJ to their office but not my home?
Meanwhile we found another amazing business to support. Easiest transaction ever. Ordered the 29th and arrived the 30th from Las Vegas healthy and happy via UPS. And for 175 vs $464.00. Only positive reviews. Tortoise town has so many negative ones out there when you start looking harder.
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, DO NOT GIVE THEM MONEY. I would give zero stars if I could, and I wish I had checked their BBB rating before doing business with them.
This company sent me dead Eastern Box Turtles...TWICE. I didn't know that Tortoise Town and CB Reptile are the SAME COMPANY (aka Next Generation Enterprises). I ordered from Tortoise Town first, which promises overnight delivery, but that didn't happen. The Eastern Box Turtles SHOWED UP DEAD (as in they baked to death on their way from NJ to AZ), and when I asked for a REFUND, THEY SAID NO, but they would send me another set of turtles. Why would I want a company that failed the first time to send me more turtles?
Meanwhile, I placed another order with CB Reptile for 2 Eastern Box Turtles. I didn't know at the time that they were the SAME COMPANY. These turtles also showed up dead, but this time I had the good sense to take their temperature. These turtles showed up several days after being ordered and were 105 DEGREES! The "cold pack" was 107 DEGREES!
Same deal. Wouldn't give me my money back. I had to dispute it through my credit card company. These people actually claimed that I was a "thief" for wanting my money back because I accepted the "Terms and Conditions." Turns out the Terms and Conditions say, "We guarantee they will arrive alive," so it was easy for Chase to go to bat, and I got my money back. I have pictures and videos of all of this because I wanted to be able to show how terrible it was.
It's just mean to send turtles a second time, knowing that they didn't show up alive the first time. Don't give them money because if something goes wrong, it's on you somehow, never mind the animals they ship.
Dealing with company was hands down the worst experience with customer service I have ever had in my life. I ordered a Florida Box Turtle. First, they told me they didn't have my order at all. Then, they said they found it and "here is your tracking number", but there was no tracking number. So, I called to get it and when I did, the lady who answered the phone told me I was getting a Gulf Coast Box Turtle. I emailed and called all day and night, but no one responded until I received ONE email that didn't even make sense the next morning telling me to "please calm down". I'm not sure yet if I'm going to take legal recourse.
Beware that TortoiseTown purports to sell "baby ivory leopard tortoises", and on their website page for this, they show a photo of a whitish colored baby leopard tortoise being held sideways in the air between someone's thumb and forefinger. This is a fake photo-shopped image. And there is no such species as ivory leopard tortoise that breeds true. When regular leopard tortoises start to grow up, then the coloration and designs on their shells start to develop, and a few of them turn lighter. That is what some people loosely refer to offhand as a white leopard tortoise. But zero leopard tortoises look like that as babies, such as on the fake bait photo on TortoiseTown's website. If you order this from them, you will receive a random dark brown baby leopard tortoise from whatever breeder leftovers than can finagle from someone else to fulfill your order (since they are turtle re-sellers, not turtle breeders). If you complain, they will just say "we have a biologist on site who confirmed it's the right tortoise." This is meaningless, and it seems to be their automatic catch-all response for any complaint they don't like. PS - If you really want a light colored leopard tortoise, then buy one that is a little bit older directly from a breeder who will show you the individual picture/video, and who is already showing light colors that you want, so you know ahead what you are buying.
I was told they sent photos, no record of them, it took almost 5 weeks and they finally sent me to some other company that is associated with them. They(T. Town) said they would contact, send pictures, get back to me and I was the one who kept recontacting them to respond. TERRIBLE COMMUNICATION, I feel I was misled or given false information. Today I get an e-mail saying they don't have what I wanted. It took them 5 misleading e-mails/ 5 weeks to tell me that and this info came from another company associated with them,CB Reptile. I had to get on the phone, request photos again, and their response was we have been working hard on your order. This was adding insult to insult. NEVER AGAIN, look elsewhere. I now do not have any faith in this business!
I was looking for a tortoise for my mom for some time, I did my research on places to buy and made my purchase with Tortoise Town. They are absolutely wonderful, we received "Josephine" who is a hatchling Sulcata. She is gorgeous, healthy and active.
I highly recommend Tortoise Town to anyone looking add a new member to their family.
They are also extremely kind and full of information. Thank you so much!
Have purchased three female hatchling to yearling Eastern Box Turtles, one hatchling male Eastern Box Turtles and a pair of Gulf Coast Box Turtles Yearlings. Have a Toad Ranch 4 x 2 x 2 enclosure with Acadia Lights.
The Eastern Box turtles are very friendly. The Gulf Coast Box Turtles are shy.
Tortoise Town is very user friendly. Dealt with Brieanna who is excellent.
Highly recommend TT,
Best,
Cgeyer
My two new baby box turtles arrived overnight in a heated box last week. We are very happy with the quality of the animals as well as the shipping packaging. We also had some questions and they emailed us right back, offered to check out our habitat if we sent photos to provide even more service. I would 100% buy from these guys again.
Got a baby eastern painted turtle for my son. I've never had a turtle, so I called an embarrassing number of times, and each time I'd call, I'd have a new series of questions that I had forgotten to ask before. The guy would answer or call me back every time. He was awesome and so helpful. The turtle was healthy, and we got exactly what we asked for. It was shipped quickly and safely immediately after purchase. We had the turtle in less than 24 hrs. I've got a very happy birthday boy. Thanks again!
After months of waiting on another site for the requested animal I asked for a refund and went to Tortoise Town. Within a week the animal arrived health, hungry and bright eyed! The same day the owners sent me detailed instructions on how to care for a hatchling (which they didn't have to do) and gave me advice on how to improve my habitat. Like i said, if i could give them 10 stars I would. By the way, I am still waiting on the refund check from the other site.
I just bought a baby sulcata 3 days ago, I got them yesterday and I am very disappointed because they send me a imperfection baby tortoise that I showed in the picture, I read their website, they said if you want to find a perfect and nice and bla bla baby sulcata tortoise you have found a right spot! So I do not think this is the best website to buy a perfect baby sulcata tortoise
Tortoisetown town was a great help on assisting me with my two baby sulcatas setup. The customer service was great and I would recommend Tortoisetown for help with your reptiles.
Answer: Very difficult, Tortoise Town seldom does not answer the phones or emails
Answer: I choose Tortoisetown, because of their video relating to the care of the turtles. Also, when I called they answered the phone and had great customer service.
