TooResume is a scam website, they hide their address or lie about where they operate out of, because the BBB.org website lists them somewhere else. The BBB rating for TopResume is an F! You still think this is a legitimate, highly rated company? THEY PAY FOR GOOD REVIEWS. Please do not make the mistake of letting these arses steal from you! Also, if you have had money taken from you please report it on the Federal Trade Commission website as a complaint. With enough complaints in, this scam business WILL be investigated and shut down!

Con: It took some time for me to be assigned to my writer (which I honestly expected given some of the reviews).

Pro: Night and day difference in my resume. I went from sounding like a mid-level employee/cog in the machine to a confident and passionate leader that makes a difference at my company. I provided a lot of info/color to my writer and she was really able to mold my words in a way I was not able to in order to best highlight my strengths.

My writer, Paula did a fantastic job! I sent her alot of information, and she was very thorough in her follow up questions, asking me detail that hadn't even occurred to me. The drafts and the final version by the deadlines she set. I was impressed with how she put everything I shared together so well into a resume that was even better than I had expected.

When I was dissatisfied with the initial cover letter she provided, she didn't challenge me or dismiss me. She asked more questions to understand what I was envisioning. The result was a perfect merging of her professional guidance and my preferences.

Had never heard of Top Resume until stumbling upon them last month, and I am more than satisfied with the result, definitely recommend!

After receiving rejections many, many times. I decided to try these guys. I received my first draft a day later than expected but was informed of this. Got my draft and wanted to make some changes. After looking at it over again, I decided to not mess with a god thing. Cover letter? Out of this world.

I plan on uploading this new resume and cover letter tomorrow. My old resume was fine for when they were not using ATS. I am excited to see what results I get.

I was assigned a writer, given a date on which I would receive my first draft, and first thing that morning as promised, I had my new resume. They even included a cover letter for the same price because there was a two day wait while they placed me with a writer. I couldn't be happier with the finished product. I didn't have a single comment to the first draft - it was perfect and so much better than I had hoped. They took my outdated and boring resume and made me look like a rock star. The writer completely grasped the real heart of what I do and brought that to the forefront of the resume. The cover letter highlights my strengths and years of experience without being redundant or full of cliches. I would recommend TopResume to anyone, and I already have!

Update (from 1 star to 3 stars): After hearing back from customer service, I was assigned a new writer. Initially TopResume attempted to restart my service from the beginning and I let them know that I was not OK with that timing and needed a writer who could provide edits and feedback quickly. They accommodated. The new resume was written much more effectively. There are a few minor points that could be edited or fixed, but overall, the ending product is about 90% of what I want which is likely as close as I will get given the niche job-related terms in my industry. I had a bad experience to start and it got better later on. Ultimately this service comes down to who you get as a writer.

Couple points to help you recognize if you have a bad writer. One, your writer sends you a barely complete draft looking for "feedback on the template". Most likely this is a sign that your writer needs to submit something by a certain deadline and this helps them get past that expectation in their internal systems. Two, your writer submits the final resume on a Saturday night and lets you know that you have until Sunday afternoon to provide final comments. This was clearly another sign of a writer trying to avoid interaction with the customer and getting through the processes of their internal system.

Initial review: I wanted this service to work since I saw so many positive reviews. This is not a legitimate business. Clearly the writer I had assigned to me barely reformatted my resume, had multiple typos, and even re-used the same language in different sections of my resume. When I asked for feedback, he said he would re-edit it. I never heard back him again even after I emailed him a few times. Most likely, this writer met the minimum criteria for topresume's project management system but was more interested in getting through those checks than providing real service or even a competent resume. Later, I wrote customer support asking for help on this issue. Got a response but then nothing happened. Replied back to that a few times and still got no response. Please save your money. This feels like an offshored service where the writers are more interested in doing the bare minimum than helping you with your resume needs.

I received my document(s) one day late. The first draft was well formatted however, as per the guidelines in the first e-mail I was more than welcome to leave comments, questions and suggestions. I did so, and not one of my comments or questions were answered. My final draft contained the same spelling and grammar mistakes as the first draft submitted to me by the writers who's name is Misty. Overall, I payed around $200, for a resume that I still need to do basic spell check on and do an overall re-vamp. I would not use Top Resume's services again and I wished I would have used another resume writing service with a more competitive price.

My experience was that the initial resume review gave me a good deal of excellent feedback about what employers are looking for today in a resume. Remember that basically although someone else is doing the "work" you still have to double check for accuracy and make sure the resume reflects what you want employers to know about you. It's an active process that requires communication with the writer.

The Pros
1)Initial review was thorough and helped me understand how to create a resume that shows that I am an achiever and not a doer.
2) Quick turnaround as long as you communicate with the resume writer and follow up.
3) Professional, polished looking resume.

The Cons
1) Kinda of costly if you are trying to update your resume while on a budget or unemployed.
2) Still have to ensure the resume writer (if different from the initial resume reviewer) receives the feedback that you obtained from the initial resume reviewer and that the feedback is reflected on your new resume.
3) Small grammatical errors and my name was actually misspelled on the cover letter.
