I really enjoyed working with TopResume, everything was delivered on time to what package I had purchased. During my first review I had questions as to why certain words were used in describing my skills, they weren't keywords so I was needing clarification since I'm not the expert here. They were very clear, concise, and in depth with answering my questions about words used, and making any changes I asked for. There truly is a discussion and conversation between you and your resume writer. I appreciate when companies deliver what they say they will.

My experience with TopResume was one that should be noted to everyone... I've been in my industry for +20 years and could not fathom someone writing my resume just by reading the resume I created and never meeting me, I was doubtful however, what an awesome experience and outcome! I have been trying to transition into a new career in HR. I had a good resume, but I was beginning to think it was not good enough. I submitted my resume for the free review TopResume offers. The review indicated my resume was ok but was written in a passive voice. I thought about it for a while and decided to make the investment in my future. I purchase the Executive package. The first writer that was assigned got to work on a fictional resume. When I explained to him that my resume needs to be a story of my experience. The writer explained he was just trying to save time instead of emailing back and forth. I was expecting to have communication in this process. The second attempt by the first writer included more fictional career experiences. So, I see why they guarantee you get an interview. I sent an email to Katie Warren requesting a new writer because I will not accept a resume that is an inaccurate representation of my skills and experience. This is supposed to be a marketing tool for ME. My request was granted. The new writer wasted no time in getting a first draft to me. When I read the draft provided by the new writer I was very disappointed, because the she submitted the same information the previous (fictional) writer had created. I immediately sent an email to the new writer resubmitting my documentation and resume and instruction about the need for an honest resume and to let her know I am here to provide any information she needs regarding my experience. The review period is ticking away and I have not had a response from the new writer. I have paid $219 for the advertised service, but so far have received works of fiction. I am not able to use the cover letter, resume or Linked In updates. It is obvious this company is more concerned about getting in the key search words and not producing a resume that markets your actual skills and experience.

My father had recommended this service to me, to make my resume more appealing to prospective employers. I still was skeptical about if it would be worth it or not because other professionals have looked at and edited my resume in the past. I was pleasantly surprised though when I saw my new resume, it definitely looked more professional! The only negative thing I would say is that it took almost a week to get to my resume, I guess a lot of people are using the service. Other than that, I very much enjoyed the process and I would recommend it.
