I was frustrated trying to find a way to present my transferrable skills in a way that would make me enticing to new employers. For the last ten years I've worked in childcare in some capacity and am currently completing a master's degree in marketing. While much of my experience has been on the business side, I was having trouble attracting employers. But in the week since I've completed work with my resume writer, i've received several calls and emails for interviews. Would definitely recommend this service to others.

TopResume came with a recommendation by the alumni organization of my former employer, a top tier consultancy. As a first step they give a free review of my old resume, which of course was designed to win me as a customer, but it actually contained a lot of useful information if I wanted to overhaul the resume myself. Since I am not good with bragging, I decided to have T. R. work on my resume, cover letter and LinkedIn. Once I was past the initial forms, the service was very personal and to the point. The editor asked a bunch of questions on my old resume, what I am looking for; sample job postings, what I personally liked and disliked about my previous resume etc etc. Even the first draft of the new resume was extremely well written and to the point. The subsequent interaction to edit the resume was easy and the responses were quick and to the point. After the resume and cover letters were done, I got a word document with instructions as to how to overhaul my LinkedIn profile. I can already tell about the dramatic improvement of this profile that I am now getting much better matched job references on LinkedIn! And last but not least the editor announced that she would be available for minor edits for specific job postings even when the "main" job was done.
Overall I think the service is very much worth its money and I believe I now have the best written resume of my life. The documents have strength and just enough bragging to not make me uncomfortable.
I recommend two minor things to TopResume to further improve:
1. There is a questionnaire in the beginning to give the writer a chance to learn more about what I am after. While the questionnaire is good, the web form is spread out into too many little webpages. I tried to browse them to find out what kind of information I should collect and suddenly a page opened that stated that my form has now been submitted and cannot be edited anymore. There should be a better button that warns me ahead of time that I am going to submit at that point.
2. The time to review the final result is pretty short. I did not have time to really look at my documents and suddenly I got an email that my order is now closed. Luckily I can still contact my writer after the job is done (see above), but it would be great if the editing period could be slightly longer.

Overall: Great service, keep it up, and I can't wait to see the results of my job hunt!

My experience with Top Resume was top notch. When I received my resume critique it was detailed and really opened my eyes to some areas of my resume that needed improvement. My writer Kamini was prompt, courteous, professional, insightful and talented. He took my resume from boring and passive voiced to polished, professional, engaging, and active voiced. I wanted to revamp my resume originally as I was looking for another job within my current industry. I was happy with my original rewrite, however it generated ZERO interview leads (vs. Some I was getting before with my old format so obviously the upgrade did not help). I since then decided to change career paths and specifically asked for a specialist to help me do this. The writer literally just dumped my already re-written resume into a template and returned it a day later. Literally NO thought put into it. When I gave feedback, the writer brushed me off and literally just updated the resume with my Exact Feedback. Basically she did little to no work on it. I was SO disappointed and felt like it was a total waste of money. I gave the feedback to the Top Resume team and again heard nothing. Would NOT recommend.

Needed an immediate revision to both my resume and cover letter due to career change. I found TopResume and sent my resume to be evaluated. I am unemployed at the moment so I was glad to receive an email for a 35% discount for both CL and Resume revisions. My resume writer was a great communicator and followed up often when I had questions. It took 4 days to get the finished product and I was satisfied. Hopefully this will end my call back drought and will have new employment very soon.

Great service and very impressed with the overall work. Feedback I have been getting from friends and industry contacts have commented how great my new resume is compared to what it was before. The upgraded LinkedIN profile as part of the package I choose was great and keeping in contact with my assigned resume writer was a easy and a pleasure to work with. Using the information I provided in the initial questionnaire when I signed up, plus a few followup questions via email, Dominique was able to transform my resume from a boring, long, passive-voice listing of my work experience to a much more polished, dynamic, active-voice description of my skills and how I've applied them in my previous work to get real, tangible results. Top Resume improves your resume when you need it. I definitely needed it in spite of quite an experience writing mine. The service was clear and the deliverable on time. The first draft was a radical change and improvement. The writer also asked for some specifics to further strengthen. Then we went thru an iteration to refine it. The writer was responsive and soon the final version was on hand. The cover letter was generic and provided the basis for customization according to the particular job ad one answers. The LinkedIn review was simple and basically amounted to an explanation if the different fields. A rating of 5 would have been gained of Top Resume was doing more pointed recommendations for me to improve it. Overall great service and I would recommend it.
