I thoroughly enjoyed working with my writer, Larissa, to convert my CV into a two page resume worthy of online searching. She covered all the elements needed to put my resume into shape according to the latest standards, and worked with me responsively to make sure it met my needs. I hope I don't need to use them again, but would in a heartbeat.

It started when I got an e-mail offering a free evaluation of my resume. As employers weren't exactly inundating me with job offers, I was skeptical, but figured "why not?" Within 24 hours I got back a spot-on evaluation. My resume was weak and they assertively told me why. So, I ordered the cover letter/resume packet and am I ever glad I did. Within 24 hours, I "met" my writer, Heidi K. She evaluated my documents thoroughly and responded with 9 questions to get to know me better. Four days later, I got the first draft. I just made 3-4 minor changes, which she made with one day. Bottom line: I got an extremely professional MARKETING PIECE-not just a bland recitation of my experiences. I could not be happier. As a bonus, Heidi is a really nice person.

TopResume rewrote my resume. I felt it wasn't significantly different from the draft I sent athem. Coincidentally, another resume-writing company offered, via email, to critique my resume. I sent them the resume written by TopResume. During a phone call with the other company, they verified ALL of the issues I had with TopResume - too long, paragraphs too long, too many bullet points with not enough active verbs and specificity. They refused my request for a refund and offered to rewrite. By then I had lost confidence in them and again requested a refund. They again refused. Left a very bad taste in my mouth. Don't hire them.

DON'T BE FOOLED BY THEIR RESPONSES TO A REVIEW. OFFERING TO DISCUSS IT FURTHER WITH YOU WILL CHANGE NOTHING... YOU WILL NEVER RECEIVE A REFUND!.

I will say I was a little skeptical given that the price for the service was well below what other companies were charging, but I really needed to update my resume, so I figured I would give them a chance. I feel like I robbed them! The process starts immediately from when you click "order". You have to fill out a lengthy form with all kinds of information, but that helps them figure out what to focus on, so it can't be skipped. Then it took about a day or two before I was assigned a personal resume writer (Sara G.). They reached out and asked if there were other items outside of the form that I would like them to focus on. Within about 3 days, I received the first draft. In format and style it was already light years ahead of where my resume was, so I was happy, but the resume writer had placed notes in the document with questions for me to answer. You get one week from the time of the first draft to make changes, edits, etc. On the night before the week was set to expire, I realized that they had left out one important item off my resume. I notified Sara G at around 6pm, and the next morning there was a fresh resume in my box with the appropriate changes.
The best part is that the whole process is quick, effective, and in the end you are left with a Word document that you can edit and move on with from there.
If I had done this myself, the process would have taken months, and I would never have arrived at the excellent resume that TopResume gave me.
I could not be happier with the service. In fact I was so happy that I paid the extra money to have them craft a great cover letter that matched the resume, so now all I have to do is go in and customize each time I apply for a position.
I went and uploaded the new resume to several sites, and where before I was always receiving the terrible calls for "Open a franchise" or "Be an insurance agent", I am now receiving calls for jobs that are well suited to my line of work.
I am happy that I stumbled on to TopResume, I would highly recommend their services if you are in the market to update your resume.

I found TopResume while job hunting on Glassdoor. I offered my resume for a critique then had them rewrite it. My writer condensed 30 years experience from 4 to 2 pages while capturing the essence of my job duties. My resume is now professionally redone, more visually appealing, very descriptive and I feel more confident in posting it to job sites. I would recommend their services if your resume hasn't been recently updated so it can easily pass through recruiters' modern software.

TopResume did a decent job of organizing and making my resume look "pretty" and flow well. I expected to have my resume content remain mostly the same, but with a better visual presentation that meets the expectation of most companies I would be applying to. I think this was accomplished. I purchased a package from TopResume that included a service for distributing my resume to many job posting sites. I do not recommend the more expensive packages, as this service is a bit overrated. It registers an account for you on different sites, under a new email address through the service. The email client for this new address is quite buggy, and I found myself unable to get to my messages frequently. If I did get any interesting emails, I missed out on them because of this. The person who helped to edit my resume was friendly and did a good job presentation-wise with the resume, but the experience felt a little robot-like. Like I was interacting with Siri or Cortana from a mobile phone. This was especially true because I received emails from the same email address as the person who worked on my email, but the emails were basically spam (asking how my experience was with a very generic email, thanking me for using the service, etc). Overall, a good service for making your resume look good for potential employers, but a bit cookie cutter in terms of service, and cheap gimmicks included in package "deals".
