When I discovered Tophatter I was shocked how cheap their products are. Now I can't stop shopping at Tophatter, I'm in love with Tophatter!
I discovered Top Hatter and loved the initial experience of the thrill of bidding. I got a couple of nice products. Then I got a 4-5 Piece handbag set which was garbage. Broke almost immediately. I won bids on blankets that were advertised as full/queen, won 3 and got them. The size is for a doll blanket. As false advertising which I WILL REPORT TO MY CREDIT CARD COMPANY. For a charge back. Also a couple of flowing gowns which are so thin one time in the washer and they will be shreds.

I really like Tophatter however having to wait so long for items to actually be shipped has always annoyed me hense the 4 instead of 5 stars I will continue to shop here as everything I have purchased has been wonderful

The reason I am not ordering any more because I am still waiting on a pak That was suppose to been here on the 12 th of Aug and its 21 st of Aug, now Tophatter says if I don't get my pak in 60 days they will give my money back, that is Crap, why should I have to wait 60 days that was told by the seller that I would get my pakage on the 12 th of Aug. And when I try to track the pakage it always says there was an error

I go on Tophatter probably every day, I'm always looking for something, being disabled I enjoy shopping for things that will help me get around and do things easier, the touch of a button. Very poor most items from my experience are bad and have to be returned where only a credit is issued back to account. Most are missing parts or are simply built bad where as they dont work, The safest thing is cothing which has to be purchased larger usually

I use to enjoy Tophatter. First time I spent over $100 worth in one month and been a customer for a very long time.
More than half the items I ordered was broken, scratched up real bad, cracked, and missing parts or just wouldn't work. I wrote them and tried to send pictures of the items, but site wouldn't let me download. I would've even sent the items back, but when you ask to return items, they just give you a refund and tell you to keep the item.
They blocked me because of this. I'm not paying for something that isn't useable or good shape. I bought a lot of stuff for birthdays, and couldn't use them.
They need to change their policies, get better management.
I wish there was another site like this but more qualified people working there.

Answer: Justin you are absolutely correct. I find out the hard way. I had my own auction with nice AUTHENTIC designer items and cosmetics (Becca, Cargo, Smahbox, Too Faced, etc). I lost big time. $40 Cargo palette sold for $10; it cost me $15. Items that I started higher to cover my cost never sold. I still had to pay fees for the item being listed. A $200 Calvin Klein purse sold for $20; it cost me $80 wholesale. Run!
Answer: If you end up buying a few items from the same seller they can do a combined shipment but you rarely get the same buyer items since they only let the sellers sell 10 items a day. It is different for the sellers that have their own auctions.
Answer: You will notice the same names no matter the day, time etc. Bidding against you very often. Is it a coincidence? Personally I don't believe in coincidences.
Answer: Depends on what you are selling. Yes, a lot of items go unsold in the jewelry and accessories categories... as well as others. Coach and Michael Kors and other designer brands, not much goes unsold, because here's the catch - - you pay fees on the starting bid. TH wants everything to start at $1. So you get punished if you start higher as to not get screwed by a low purchase price. Say you buy a designer bag for $120. If you start that bag at $100, you're already paying over $10 in fees. **IF** you can manage to sell it for a profit, there are still the commission and bank fees. If you start it at $1, you're barely paying any listing fees but it might only sell for $80 (or less!). So, less fees, but you lost your ass on the item. It's messed up. Most sellers have put in their time to see if they can make a profit or to see if TH will change, but they all seem to end up leaving. I'm convinced the only ones who stay to sell there are the counterfeit or crappy quality sellers who are buying items for next to nothing, because that seems to be the only way to make a profit there these days. I would go the ebay route if you're looking to sell.
