Great experience so far. I have bought quite a few things and so far so good! No complaints for this guy!
The seller policy is that the offer is not suppose to mislead the buyer into thinking they are bidding on anything more or less than what they will receive. Sadly this is not the case.
They will allow you to refuse the item, they will even credit you for the total cost and tell you to keep the item (don'; t know what I can do with all this clothes 3 sizes to small). For the first few times,. But than, after countless disappointments, wrong sizes (clothes sizes are extremely off), advertised qty of item different than what is actually shipped. I. E. 3 items pictured and in bold red letters( 3PCS Outdoor Hunting Waist Belt Stealth Tactical Holster Military Safety Clasp Waterproof Nylon Shooting Camping) and only 2 ships (bold print and picture are the 3, but in the small print on next page, you will read 2pcs., That turns out to mean you only get 2. So misleading with pictures and with the BOLD wording, that everyone sees, but than they get to say but it said you only get 2 pcs in the description. That also due to time limits of bidding, most people don't have the time to read every word and still have time left to place a bid.
Now after they give you your hey we are nice guy routine, they will still let you return the item for a full refund. Did I mention that the bulk of this material seems to be shipping from overseas. So if I ship the item back, now I am out the item and the shipping just to get my money refunded. Great Deal

So far this site is pretty decent. You have to keep on your toes because not everything that is offered to bid on is what it appears to be. The sellers are very creative in how they describe what they are selling. Some are downright deceitful. Tophatter is fairly quick to refund your money when a seller does not follow thru with the transaction. One thing I would change is that when you are asked to review a product and you give a review, you are not allowed to change your review. I received a product I won in an auction and gave it a favorable review. Afterwards I discovered it was a fake and not as described during the auction and when I went to change my review, I couldn't. So now others might bid on an item based on my review and it doesn't represent my true feeling on the item.

Tophatter is a good place to shop, you just have to be really careful of sizes of stuff, I ordered what I THOUGHT was going to be a whole roll of backsplash and it turned out to be SOME of the roll, but not really enough to do much with, and I ordered a blanket I thought was going to be full size by the pic. But it ended up being just a tiny throw, I paid 9.00 for it and could have bought it at Walmart for around 5.00 so my bad, but just be careful about what your ordering and sizes, otherwise I get decent items from there. Takes a little while to get your stuff also so don't order something for a gift for a week from then, it will not be there on time, but I've started some of my Christmas shopping and I've gotten a lot of nice things very cheap from there.

Your site had a glitch and I ended up the winner of a 245.00 meditation chair that I did not order. As soon as I saw that, I immediately cancelled that order. BUT, instead of my money being returned to my credit card, it Sent my money to your credit account. I want my money back On my credit card.
I've sent messages to your help center, but no one has gotten back in touch with me, nor had I received a refund. It's important I get my money back, I'm on disability and cannot afford to have 250.00 sitting somewhere other than my bank account.

Over half the items I ordered were not as described ie Apple charging cords say OEM definitely not they are way thinner than the OEM cords apple sells and supplies with phones

The initial format was awesome small business and average joes in live auction. Now it is all mostly overseas selling garbage. You can rate poor sales but as a seller you can only see average you cant see the actual reviews. ALSO if you win an item at a really low bid, the seller will claim to mail it, it will show shipment to a bogus address and instead of reshipping they will refund your money and Tophatter will only hold them to that. This happened more than once so it isn't a fluke it is a way of getting out of shipping an item below what they want to sell for. Im sure they keep old tracking numbers and post them to "prove shipment" and oops oh well our bad misdelivered here's your couple bucks back. No longer a fan.

Watch out the will keep your money if you want a refund. Tell them to put it back on your card. DO NOT LET THEM PUT IT ON A WALLET FOR LATER. And if a seller cancels on you. Tophatter will put your money in that wallet. Watch out because they kept my $168

Answer: Justin you are absolutely correct. I find out the hard way. I had my own auction with nice AUTHENTIC designer items and cosmetics (Becca, Cargo, Smahbox, Too Faced, etc). I lost big time. $40 Cargo palette sold for $10; it cost me $15. Items that I started higher to cover my cost never sold. I still had to pay fees for the item being listed. A $200 Calvin Klein purse sold for $20; it cost me $80 wholesale. Run!
Answer: If you end up buying a few items from the same seller they can do a combined shipment but you rarely get the same buyer items since they only let the sellers sell 10 items a day. It is different for the sellers that have their own auctions.
Answer: You will notice the same names no matter the day, time etc. Bidding against you very often. Is it a coincidence? Personally I don't believe in coincidences.
Answer: Depends on what you are selling. Yes, a lot of items go unsold in the jewelry and accessories categories... as well as others. Coach and Michael Kors and other designer brands, not much goes unsold, because here's the catch - - you pay fees on the starting bid. TH wants everything to start at $1. So you get punished if you start higher as to not get screwed by a low purchase price. Say you buy a designer bag for $120. If you start that bag at $100, you're already paying over $10 in fees. **IF** you can manage to sell it for a profit, there are still the commission and bank fees. If you start it at $1, you're barely paying any listing fees but it might only sell for $80 (or less!). So, less fees, but you lost your ass on the item. It's messed up. Most sellers have put in their time to see if they can make a profit or to see if TH will change, but they all seem to end up leaving. I'm convinced the only ones who stay to sell there are the counterfeit or crappy quality sellers who are buying items for next to nothing, because that seems to be the only way to make a profit there these days. I would go the ebay route if you're looking to sell.
