All the items I have purchased off of Tophatter have been completely misleading except for majority of the premium items, like fragrances and very few jewelry items. The shipping ETA most of the time is not even close to being accurate. Even after 30 days of an item not being shipped, Tophatter still wont refund my money. Then when they do credit you your money, they only give you a credit to Tophatter not back to your card. Majority of the items that are shown are completely misleading. The products I have received are not even similar to the products that were shown to bid on. The description is not even similar. Honestly, if it wasnt for the fragrances I purchased on here I would give Tophatter negative stars if applicable. Completely disappointed and buyers beware.
Some items come and they are just what it showed wonderful condition. Then there are items with no instructions. No cable. Jewelry I got two rings that are to die for then another arrived and you can't even wear it due to burrs and the coating is flakes off and it says sterling silver. So chancy in the items and if they will be decent product

I feel that a lot of your sellers stuff gets overbid on because of the quality of it. Therefore I feel that there should be a stop on certain bids on certain items. If it isn't worth $20.00 don't make them pay it. That's a rip off. Another thing the customer who is bidding doesn't get to read all reviews or some we just see Stars. Maybe you should put a list of items that you are going to auction off and put a description about them. Also I bid on something the beginning of Nov. It was an xmas decoration now it's not coming until January. I'll tell you why the person sat on their butt and took their lazy time shipping it, I knew it wouldn't be here in time. Do I want it now? No, but I have no choice. The boxes come damaged or the don't come and because it says it was delivered I'm **** out of luck. You really don't take a lot of responsibility or your sellers don't. I have been on a lot more honest action apps. So are you going to put this one out there. I am so over it.

I found this site and have been a customer ever since. They have many of the things you'd like to have and things you need. They also have a generous return policy, if it doesn't fit or work or it's not what you expected they will give you a quick return credit.

For every item you receive that is of good quality and works correctly, you receive two that do not/are not. You can return a few without any degree of hassle but then your required to return the items, which I have no issue in doing, to find out it will cost anywhere from $15.00 to $25.00 in shipping cost. It just doesn't make that 100% refundable satisfaction 100% worth it. The best part is if you try to contact Tophatter on any of this you cannot find any way to do so. So my opinion, go to Walmart, at least you can return with no hassle or penalties if the item isn't worth it.

If you have a problem with a purchase or feel you didn't receive what was described, a return request must be opened for each order that was not satisfactory.
With that said, Tophatter will always process refunds for buyers upon receiving a valid tracking number from them indicating that the order has been returned to the seller. Tophatter offers Buyer Protection in the form of a 30-day Easy Return policy that will either: 1.) refund the buyer without return needed, 2.) provide the buyer with a prepaid return label, or 3.) present the buyer with the seller's address to return the item, paying for their return postage with valid tracking number.
On our platform, refunds or prepaid return labels are provided to U.S.-based buyers until the buyer hits a threshold for free returns.
For internationally located buyers, we provide some store credit to offset the cost of returning the item at their own expense until the buyer hits the threshold.
The acceptable return threshold is continuously calculated as a percentage of the buyer's total purchases. Once this threshold has been met, the cost of returning the item to the seller with tracking will be at the buyer's expense. When this happens, it is explained in the email buyers receive when they request a return, that they are responsible for the return shipping cost, and the buyer is provided with the seller's return address to facilitate the successful return of the order. Tophatter's return policy is in-line and considered standard among the industries' competitors. Marketplaces, as an industry, institute thresholds for the number of free returns offered, to curb abuse.

Most products I've bought have been amazing. Delivery sometimes takes forever. I had to stop shopping for the holidays due to possibly not arriving on time. Even though there's an approximate delivery date, I just can't put myself through it this time of year

Answer: There is also the FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION that can help with these types of problems

Answer: Justin you are absolutely correct. I find out the hard way. I had my own auction with nice AUTHENTIC designer items and cosmetics (Becca, Cargo, Smahbox, Too Faced, etc). I lost big time. $40 Cargo palette sold for $10; it cost me $15. Items that I started higher to cover my cost never sold. I still had to pay fees for the item being listed. A $200 Calvin Klein purse sold for $20; it cost me $80 wholesale. Run!
Answer: If you end up buying a few items from the same seller they can do a combined shipment but you rarely get the same buyer items since they only let the sellers sell 10 items a day. It is different for the sellers that have their own auctions.
Answer: You will notice the same names no matter the day, time etc. Bidding against you very often. Is it a coincidence? Personally I don't believe in coincidences.
Answer: Depends on what you are selling. Yes, a lot of items go unsold in the jewelry and accessories categories... as well as others. Coach and Michael Kors and other designer brands, not much goes unsold, because here's the catch - - you pay fees on the starting bid. TH wants everything to start at $1. So you get punished if you start higher as to not get screwed by a low purchase price. Say you buy a designer bag for $120. If you start that bag at $100, you're already paying over $10 in fees. **IF** you can manage to sell it for a profit, there are still the commission and bank fees. If you start it at $1, you're barely paying any listing fees but it might only sell for $80 (or less!). So, less fees, but you lost your ass on the item. It's messed up. Most sellers have put in their time to see if they can make a profit or to see if TH will change, but they all seem to end up leaving. I'm convinced the only ones who stay to sell there are the counterfeit or crappy quality sellers who are buying items for next to nothing, because that seems to be the only way to make a profit there these days. I would go the ebay route if you're looking to sell.
