I'm very happy with Tophatter. I've been buying from the site for over a year. But you have to understand that they are a lot like eBay.

Just like eBay, Tophatter does not sell items of its own. And just like eBay, you can check the stats and reviews of sellers before you buy. I always look to see who I am buying from.

Tophatter does not decide on starting prices or shipping... that is also the seller.

Tophatter does not control the final price for an item. That is up to the people bidding in the auction. Do your homework before you bid. I've seen items start out low but then go for much more than a buy it now price on eBay. That doesn't make much sense when it takes about 30 seconds to pop over to eBay and look it up. I do understand that sometimes you come into an interesting auction and get caught up in it. But if finding out later that you didn't get the best price is going to stress you out, it's probably better not to bid on it. We are talking about impulse items here.

I've never had a problem with money being taken out of my account. But, you can always use PayPal instead of a card. I usually pay with PayPal.

To sum up:
Read seller reviews and ratings.
Do your homework. Know how much an item sells for at other places.
Use PayPal to pay for items.
Don't blame Tophatter if you overbid on an item. You control how much you pay for an item. This is how auctions work.

The whining sellers are RIGHT. I had a successful first partner auction only to find that although I sell RECORDS, Tophatter will not allow you to ship via MEDIA MAIL. Agent told me "charge more for shipping next time." This is an amateur, unprofessional and useless site run by children. I have NOTHING good to say now. They made it clear that I could just vacate my account, they weren't going to add a common shipping method to their system.

I have been suckered into this site, I received a few items that either did not fit or were not as pictured (or BOTH) which I filed to return. The return requests were either denied or not even answered. I contacted the seller AND tophatter customer care so far I have received ONE refund only because the item was actually found to have NEVER been delivered. I am still waiting on other responses. Be very careful what you bid on and make sure you look at the shipping before bidding! It tends to be VERY PRICEY! I received a few pieces jewelry. So far I like two or three, the others could have come from $5 below or something they are EXTREMELY "costume" looking. Buyer beware and careful!

I found these reviews after I had already ordered two rings and was sooooo worried I got scammed! WRONG! I got one of my rings already and it's as gorgeous as it was online n good quality! It says right in the description that it's rodium plated so yes... it will turn after some time - all plating does but it's totally worth the $8 I won it for! It's topaz, diamond, and opal and looks as genuine as my real rings with the same stones :) don't let these reviews scare u away - just be realistic about your purchases and make sure the seller has lots of stars/good reviews - it'll say it right under their name. I can't wait to get my second ring!

I have a folder of Money that disappeared from my account, no explanation, nothing.

I took pictures & Made copies daily after I noticed the money I had expected to receive, gone.

I wrote support & asked about my money & I get this, " It is Confusing", OK, That DOES NOT explain where my money is at!

Never less, it has still not been resolved. Then I noticed that I was getting charged DOUBLE for every return from the Company they use (Braintree For Credit cards). The money would go into my fees to pay for the return but the Money would disappear out of my disbursements. Scared Because I am a Mother of 6 & have a ton of responsibility I put that I no longer except returns NOT because of any thing to do with the buyer but because of the fact that I can pay twice. :( Nothing. They are still coming. I have been sided against for a New with Tag Coach Bag that the buyer had a month. I got it back used I have gone BROKE selling here to ungrateful people getting my Designer bags for a 10.00 then complaining that it's not good enough then My money stolen, too. HELP! I pay GREAT money to SELL on TH & NO Protection at all. :( . I get treated like a dog by BOTH Buyer & TH. Granted there are some really sweet ones that do make me smile. They are worth it & I will take them wherever I go.

If you shop TH, Make a seller smile, today on that site because you have no idea how many times we have cried at our PC. You now wonder why we have not stopped, it is because we have so much inventory by now because of being promising the world that we have to make it back & for some of us. Fast. We are now stuck in a hole of debt literally trying just to get out...

I love a happy customer & I do not mind going out of the way & have been fully aware of any " Risks" I took but to be ungrateful for a MK bag for 10 Bucks, C'mon. We are just trying to make it!. My policies state no returns but I may still let a legit one come through if it is reasonable. Sending me back a used bag was not. Another loss. If I went on it would take all day. I seriously need a lawyer as many on here do.

I have the print outs, pictures, Bank statements & evidence. Anyone want to file a class action? I am ready to get this resolved.

I made a huge mistake fooling around with this app. I bought a "brand new" smart watch thinking I was actually making a good deal off of it. Little did I know, it was significantly cheaper than what I paid for it and what they listed its worth. I certainly didn't think that one through I officially have been scammed. Not to mention there is nothing brand new about this watch. There's scuff marks on the interior portion of the watch. These people hosting this site are liars and we are fools for thinking we are actually getting a deal off it. I was foolish for not listening to the reviews to begin with!

They say you're getting a major discount, but when you do a little research you find out that the product doesn't cost as much as they say. You end up paying more than it's worth and it's usually cheap junk. I wouldn't buy their jewelry. You're going to pay $8 to $10 for a cheap necklace. If you don't mind a crappy item then you should check out Ebay. This way you only pay $1 to $3 for the same item. Top Hatter is a scam and it's a waste of money.

I have bought Christmas gifts, birthday gifts and gifts to myself, always got good quality and gorgeous rings, bracelets and earrings and necklaces
