Very Disappointed!

I initially enjoyed the auction, watching my items being bid on. My fault for not reading the reviews first, I am VERY disappointed in the fees, commissions and postage cost! By the time everything was deducted, I was left with pennies! NOT WORTH IT!

... I was a seller who complained about the changes to scheduling, taking away our right to speak to our buyers by getting rid of the emails, auction rooms, and high listing fees along with 75% of the other sellers and they closed my account down just because I voiced my opinion... all they are about is money... the funny part is I had a 100% positive feedback, 5 Stars, and sold Nice items... THATS HOW MUCH THEY CARE... just because they didn't like my forum they froze and deleted my account... thank god I took pictures of everything they said and all my emails... I know of at least 20+ sellers they banned from there site for voicing there opinions on the threads... last I heard we still had freedom of speech. MOST OF THE BUYERS AND SELLERS THAT DO COMPLAIN HAVE EVERY RIGHT... THey avoid people like the plague. WE WERE ALSO NOT ALLOWED TO SAY THAT WE WERE USA SELLERS BECAUSE OF THE BIG MERGE WITH CHINA, THEY SAY IT CAN BE CONSTRUDE AS BEING INAPPROPRIATE... BUT WAIT NO ONE AT TH COMPLAINED ABOUT THE SELLERS OVERSEAS WHO SELL FAKE ITEMS WITH HIGH SHIPPING AND STATE ITS FROM CHINA AND HAVE MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS (you r only allowed 1 account). I know a few overseas sellers that have more then 4 accounts and nothing is said.

LET ME STRESS NOT ALL OVERSEAS SELLERS ARE DISHONEST JUST LIKE NOT ALL USA SELLERS ARE REPUTABLE...

I'm new to Tophatter and have won about ten items. I have received about five. So far what I've received is what I expected. Did fall into the silver bars trap but I didn't check the silver market before I bought them. Have been charged the right amount through PayPal. One seller even gave me a $5 refund for shipping and I didn't ask for it. If my good luck changes I'll let you know.

Inferior quality of items poor! Customer service non existent. Slow shipping. Exorbitant shipping and handling fees! A good practice to avoid at all costs. Definitely a negative experience guaranteed!

Bad experience continues... As i have reviewed Tophatter before it gets worse! My lovely wife bought me a new ring on Tophatter, she had to update our shipping address to our new home instead of the old one which was her exhusbands address. After waiting a month for Tophatter to send the item with no comunication, the woman sent my ring to the old address anyway making me wait another week for it. Ironically it went to get exhusbands house. Very funny for me but still very unsatistfactory costumer service. We are nolonger shopping with tophatter.com, as you shouldn't either unless you like running in circles of no comunication and horrible none comunicative costumer service. Highly unadvisable INDEED! WORST SITE EVER, GO TO WAL-MART.COM BEFORE TOPHATTER.COM LMAO!

I'm always stubborn and I always pay the price at the end. I was hoping that this will not happen, i'll get a good deal. NO! I ordered 5 items and it's all junk like plastic, cheaply made jewelries, strong manufacture smell on the clothing, and worst packaging. I wanted to return all the items but it will only cost me so I'll donate or throw in the trash. Do not waste your money! So here it goes, yes, most of the items are made from China and I'm not saying that all made from China products are junk but most from TopHatter. The water pump that I ordered are cheap type of plastic and the packaging, I was so shocked the box was all torn as in it's not even taped together and placed in a plastic packaging. I ordered two black dress and has the strong manufacture odor and cheap thin material, I was shaking my head while looking at it now. Now the jewelries were also a joke, it says sterling silver, NOT! I have sterling jewelries and no comparison at all. The clasp on the necklace is hard really hard to open. I will add this to the lesson learn. NO MORE TOPHATTER!

Items purchased do not match description. I even purchased an item and it was sent to the wrong address. The seller won't answer neither will TopHatter customer support. I still can't reach anyone! I spent money for nothing!

I am so sad to hear that alot of people are having bad experiences with the site. I am a seller and take great pride in making sure that all my items are shipped as so as payment is made and I always keep in contact by sending updates on shipping.As far as credit card information being stolen we have no connection with customers information besides the address to send out the package. With any site you shop on you have to be a smart shopper. If you click the item before you bud it will give the info of the item and where it will be shipped from. South if you only want to deal within the states you can sort it out that way.Not everyone is bad on that site but I can understand the frustration as a consumer myself. I hope that you all get your issues resolved.

No refund nor any response regarding the junk massager they sent. Can't get the back off to see if it works. I did get a $1.00 credit to use but there is a deadline for that. This site is a joke & have lost a customer. Hope they can afford to continue these losses. I just don't know how I will spend that dollar!

A Mexico seller on Tophatter stole my credit card number and made fraudulent purchases with it to the tune of almost $250 worth before I spotted it, thankfully, and closed my account. Don't know if I'll ever get my money back through my bank and I had to go through the hassle of closing and opening a new account. The Mexican seller paid his cable TV bill with my credit card! Never again will I shop Tophatter! Other sellers were great, but the risk of getting robbed like I did is just too high.

I've bid and "won" several items on this auction site... my items were what I expected... I wasn't planning on receiving high end jewelry for what I paid... but what I received was ok...
I wouldn't bid on something like a gram of silver for $5 and above, when a gram of silver is worth less than a dollar... but if you think things through... you'll have some fun and can look forwards to receiving something sparkly in the mail within a few days!

I was using this site and one a few things in a stretch for about a week... pretty much everything I got was what it said it was going to be others not so much... then I didn't get an order at all... so I did what I was told I contacted the seller... nothing so then I contacted customer support. They blocked my account... REALLY! I SO GOING TO BLAST THIS SITE... So long as you pay up and don't complain they love you... but have a problem and they block you... such a bad move!

Don't fall for it. I had never had a PayPal account until I downloaded the app for Tophatter. They are so devious and will charge your account whatever they want to. I never bid over $1. For any of the six items that I bought. Got my PayPal email summary statement and saw that they charged me $102. For what should have been $6. Only. I will never do business with them again. And will do everything I can to let everyone know what a scammer they really are.

90% of items come from china. Directions for the products are badly worded. I ordered an item, and one month later I contacted the seller and got no response. I then went to TopHatter for help and kept getting the same auto-response on how I need to contact the seller. Round and round I went and have gotten no where. Finally I disputed the charge via my credit card issuer.
I have ordered approximately 20 items from them and 3 items came that looked NOTHING like the picture shown when I made the purchase.
This website is a crap shoot. Good luck.

About the live auctions: Low quality products, shipping cost is extremely high and delivery takes forever. I bought a sun dress and it is actually a shirt, very small even when I added two sizes up. I also complained about a watch but the returning process was complicated. In general, you get what you paid for.

Had an issue on a bid and tried to contact customer support. I wrote a very detailed complaint to them and got one sentence back which did not solve or even answer my questions. Its obvious they do not value the business they get from their customers. Also, make sure to Google products before you buy from this site because chances are you will find them for a better price elsewhere.

Read all the reviews, it's not a lie. Tophatter does not answer your emails and if you email the sellers they blame tophatter for all the problems your having. NEVER AGAIN! I purchased the same item I bid for on eBay and still bought it cheaper with FREE shipping. TOPHATER IS A SCAMMERS!

I was scammed!

I bid on a Michael Kors duffel bag for $2 + free shipping and I won. However, after I clicked to pay via PayPal, the total that showed up was $82. Of course there's no way to contact Tophatter or the seller except via e-mail through Tophatter. Tophatter said I had to communicate with the seller and the seller said they can't refund my money because it's already shipped (5 mins after I won the bid). The seller also told me it should've only been $65, so they supposedly contacted Tophatter as well, and they haven't heard back either. About 5 HOURS later, I received an e-mail saying the duffel bag has been shipped. How convenient! That's the fastest anything has ever been shipped. I asked the seller if I return it, will they refund my $82, but no response yet. I'm going to the FCC and I'm calling my bank tomorrow. I don't buy $82, or even $65, duffel bags. It's probably a faux anyway. As soon as I get this resolved, I'm deleting this app! That was my gas money for the next week and a half. What do I do now?

UPDATE: Tophatter finally contacted me and pretty much blamed it on the seller, who I have yet to hear back from. Tophatter told me to refuse the package, making sure the post office scans it as REFUSED, and they will ensure that I get a full refund. So... we shall see how this works out.

OUTCOME: The seller came back and said that there's a problem with my zip code and the item was sent back to them. So... I contacted Tophatter, via e-mail, and asked them to quickly cancel the order and refund my money. They did both. What a hassle that was! I wonder how many people they do this to and get away with it. Needless to say, I'm never buying from Tophatter again! I also received a ring that I won for $3.00, a couple of days before this whole incident, and it looks like something you get out of a bubblegum machine. What was I thinking! What a waste of my money and what a horrible experience! Never again!
