Received two dissatisfied jewelry items, not worth bidding on. Won a few bids and they said merchant declined payment. Called merchant and it was on there end they screwed up. Lost out on a laptop, old silver coin. Probally for the best. Im done with them. Dont bother getting caught up in bidding process.

A lot of lies about quality and prices. I will never buy anything from China, but they put Gift World name.
So, bought stuff from it, both items want to return and here comes your problems. It's international mail and post office refused to track it.
I think Tophatter just very dishonest company and hide a lot of things on purpose. They need to put seller China, so a lot of people will be not even bother themselves to order cheap stuff without instructions and not working properly. We can buy this stuff on the streets for 5 dollars.
So, I feels tricked and also lost 34 dollars.
By the way, very nice reviews on Tophatter site. How it happens?

Rip off.

The items sold on Tophatter state that some are worth hundreds of dollars, when in reality their retail value of the items are much less, for example, the virtual reality googles state they are worth a couple hundred dollars when you're bidding and tells you the saving for what you've purchased it for, but the actual retail value for the ones they sell are worth $20. Many things they sell you are purchasing at retail price if not more!

I have won a few bids on Tophatter over the past couple of weeks and a couple of items have already been delivered - a smartwatch and a lady shaver. What I hadn't realised when I bought the watch was that I would be charged import tax/VAT. Bought the watch for £30 then today received a bill from DHL for £23 import taxes! Turned out to be a bit of an expensive buy for what it is. Admittedly I didn't read the small print (but who does?!) but I will know in future. The shaver is a very cheap and tacky model that doesn't shave - it lights up and buzzes but nothing much else!

I received my new touch Hd screen smart watch today order details #******* i opened the package to find out the band came away from the watch as soon as i opened the package just rubbish, i require a replacement immediately.

This used to be a good site but since they made huge changes over a year ago, it has gone completely downhill! They got rid of the auction rooms so now it is a giant hodge-podge of things on the homepage. Almost impossible to see the description and pics of what is selling before it disappears. Then the selling fees skyrocketed to over double on commissions charged for both the sale and the shipping, not including the scheduling fees paid, even if something does not sell. It has mostly been taken over with chinese knockoffs that take forever to arrive and heaven help you if you have a return. No wonder all the good U.S. sellers have abandoned the sinking ship! I have found them elsewhere, like Etsy or the new Madhatter Auctions. I suggest everyone shop elsewhere also.

As a new growing company, Tophatter has made several major improvements to our site, app and variety of products. The virtual auction rooms have been replaced with our new User Interface for approximately 2 1/2 years.

Additionally, our seller fees are quite comparable to other similar platforms but I understand if you aren't happy with them.

Now that we've expanded internationally items on our platform ship from the United States, China and various other countries around the world.

Under our hassle-free easy return policy, any item can be returned for any reason for up to 30 days from delivery. Return shipping labels may be provided at no cost to the buyer in some instances. If not, a store credit is issued to the buyer to offset the cost of return shipping.

What to speak with Marissa S. I think its terrible the way this company handled laptopsales az/tom bildens rotten deal! You hide behind oh we dont do anything, you sold me the messed up thing! I bought it in good faith! Can you say that selling me a virus and costing me all the repair money was very fair? You should all be ashamed of yourselves! Let alone he had it back before you issued the return label! I sure as heck would have sent it back with that but bilden lied about that too! He said he was returning all my money on the phone, sorry i didnt get a recording of it too prove it, but you all know what a sleez bag he is and you all are! Braging about what a good company and how much money you make shame on all of you! Lei cheat scam ripe off! Any body yet want to call me? Didnt think so!

I like the concept, it's fun to bid, but it's pretty evident that every MSRP on the sites are lies set by the sellers. All the electronics are cheap Chinese knockoffs, which often sells for new on Amazon for cheaper than the bid price, and never at a price close to the MSRP. A 50$ tablet/drone seems cheap, but it's overpriced if it's a Chinese knockoff. Same thing with jewelry. 95% of the items on the site are what you'd find at a flea market for the same price or cheaper when you consider shipping.

On the other hand, there is some great deals sometime. I saw a no-no razor go for 60$, which is good, but it's *very* rare.

Worst site EVER! Warning!

I purchased 3 items over a few days. All needed to be refunded. Dodgy quality. Fake looking. After I paid the $21 each to return it to China it took forever to get a refund. No one ever replied. I sent numerous emails. I ended up lodging a PayPal dispute.
1 of the items we bought was a PVP advertised as having 8888 games. It did but they were the same 8 games repeated. It was advertised to have mario and crash bandicoot. It didn't have either.
No explanation, no reply to my emails. My son was in tears, and so was I.
I'll never use them again. I ended up losing money and my kids had no Xmas presents because if their poor quality.

Not MY fault

I bid on drop earrings, I won and was excited!

There wasn't an option to choose silver or gold so I couldn't pay.
Tophatter said they resolved this w seller.
I was told to cancel, it wouldn't be held against me, just cancel. Then I'd be all set. Wrong...
I wasn't given correct guidance.

I tried... but I rec'd a warning stating if I cancel I cannot bid for 7 days.

This is completely frustrating and disappointing. I thought I found a fun place to be...
Not negative.

I am a new customer... about to leave Tophatter.

Good luck... careful what moves you make. It is held against you.

Not very happy. Doesn't look anything thing like I order. I understand that I only paid $ 11.00 total but I could of had 3 very happy Grandkids and the GUMBALL MACHINES. Will never order again from them. I would like a refund!

I have tried more than5 times to get someone to respond to my request for a refund... or at least a credit. BUT no response! I received a ring that after wearing it for a week wound up turning a horrible color... returned it, but still haven't heard a word back. I also received a ring in which I ordered a sz. 5 but was in fact larger than a 5... again sent it back as instructed, and NO response to my numerous requests for a refund or at least a credit. I also purchased a lovely bracelet with stones around it... wore it one evening, when I took it off, I noticed that 4 of the stones fell out. Again no response. The same sizing discrepancy happened with another ring... sent it back and yet again crickets! Also all these items were returned in a timely fashioned, and they say they weren't(another scam)So bottom line, they have the returned items, and my MONEY$$$$... I would love it if they would step up to the plate and show some sort of customer service, and make it right... I want my money back! There is only enough room to enter one item #... and there is more than one item I want fixed. I will see how this goes before I order anything else... so sad!

Item did not arrive. Tracking information said it had been delivered and signed for, not to me and not by me.

Contacted customer service who obviously didn't read anything I had written and said they could no nothing as it had been delivered. Suggested I claimed against the Post Office. Only the sender can claim.

Opened a case, explained again that neither myself not my neighbours had received or signed for the item.

Heard back yesterday that as the item has been delivered and signed for they have closed the case - oh and here's a $5 store credit.

It doesn't seem that they have bothered to check the signature, which will not be mine, all they keep saying is that it has been delivered and signed for. I repeat, not to me and not by me.

There is no telephone number for complaints and they obviously don't read emails properly or at all.

If there was a zero star option I would use it.

However, please note that we cannot require a refund on items that have been delivered, per tracking. When a package shows delivered, we recommend calling the local post office to ask the supervisor to attempt to locate the package using the tracking number. If the post office is unable to assist, you may file a complaint with the postal carrier. Your item was shipped using China EMS and was transferred to United Kingdom Parcelforce for delivery.
