Since I've started shopping on tophatter I've had a great time bidding, pick up some great deals, feel safe shopping with them,
Purchased a number of items on this site. Recently purchased a night vision monocular. The item when it finally arrived after about a month, from, you guessed, it China, had no night vision capability whatsoever. Contacted Tophatter, who instructed me to return it for a refund. The cost to ship back was on me, notwithstanding the seller totally misrepresented the item description. IMO, THIS SITE SELLS CRAP! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY WITH THIS SITE OR ITS JUNK!
1. The 5-Star reviews are Tophatters team. No doubt about it.
2. Won 2 items and then all of a sudden the orders were cancelled without my knowing it.
3. Won a 3rd item that came from Georgia and was shipped and delivered within a week (no complaints there).
4.4th item won was NEVER shipped and a refund was issued. This particular seller failed to follow Tophatter's rules and regulations.
5.5th item won came from China and was made from cheap plastic.
6.6th item won was shipped, but the shipment stopped somewhere in China. I was refunded because the seller failed to follow Tophatter's rules and regulations.
Only 2 items won were delivered. The rest were not.
Sellers to AVOID: The Hot Monsters, BeautyBest Accessories, Vidal Gabay, and Topsaler.
This is pure fraud and Tophatter really needs to go out of business for allowing fake and fraudulent sellers on this site.
I don't give a crap if I get refunded for the two items that were cancelled by the sellers. I am deleting my account anyway.
Stay far away from this site unless you want to be screwed over by a bunch of Chinese idiots.

I'm terribly sorry that Tophatter doesn't meet your expectations and your experience hasn't been satisfactory. Being there are millions of users who use Tophatter, this is not the case for them all. In addition, positive reviews are just as real as any negative received. These are users who have excellent experiences with their purchases and using the site in a whole.

Tophatter makes sure their sellers are only selling genuine items, so you do not have to worry about being taken to the cleaners. They also deal with any issues you have immediately.

Ordered several items and the shipper sometimes uses the same shipping numbers for different orders. So when one comes in the post office scans will show the items were delivered when they were not. I ordered a elf on a shelf and a dog collar on different days and yet were assigned the same tracking number. The elf on the shelf arrived but the collar did not yet it says it is delivered and top hatter since it says delivered will not reimburse money or reship product. And post office is worse than useless. Earlier I ordered a laser pointer and my daughter's order came in and mine got scanned as delivered yet nothing came in for me...

I checked the system and it showed that this order 53363564 has been refunded. On the other hand, anytime a package is confirmed Delivered to the correct location through a valid tracking number, we do ask that shoppers follow up with their local post office for more details.
The USPS uses scanners which log a carrier's GPS location, and an inquiry to the local post office should be able to help track down the package's true location. The post office's tracking is more robust than the tracking available online, so if this ever occurs, please ask the post office for their expanded tracking details. After providing documentation from the post office a full refund can be processed.

Easy, Convenient. Always something to look at and new things arrive all the time. It is fast you don't have to wait 2 days to find out if you have won the item. Fun in that you get to find lots of interesting things I hadn't seen else where.

Great site, very good items and most prices are reasonable, I have purchased multiple items, I have been having alot of fun here, however, couple sellers are not as fast as all the other ones in shipping out the merchandise, I do pay immediately every time I buy items, the sellers in question had taken over 7 days to ship out.
But everything else is great, I recommend this site.

Answer: Justin you are absolutely correct. I find out the hard way. I had my own auction with nice AUTHENTIC designer items and cosmetics (Becca, Cargo, Smahbox, Too Faced, etc). I lost big time. $40 Cargo palette sold for $10; it cost me $15. Items that I started higher to cover my cost never sold. I still had to pay fees for the item being listed. A $200 Calvin Klein purse sold for $20; it cost me $80 wholesale. Run!
Answer: If you end up buying a few items from the same seller they can do a combined shipment but you rarely get the same buyer items since they only let the sellers sell 10 items a day. It is different for the sellers that have their own auctions.
Answer: You will notice the same names no matter the day, time etc. Bidding against you very often. Is it a coincidence? Personally I don't believe in coincidences.
Answer: Depends on what you are selling. Yes, a lot of items go unsold in the jewelry and accessories categories... as well as others. Coach and Michael Kors and other designer brands, not much goes unsold, because here's the catch - - you pay fees on the starting bid. TH wants everything to start at $1. So you get punished if you start higher as to not get screwed by a low purchase price. Say you buy a designer bag for $120. If you start that bag at $100, you're already paying over $10 in fees. **IF** you can manage to sell it for a profit, there are still the commission and bank fees. If you start it at $1, you're barely paying any listing fees but it might only sell for $80 (or less!). So, less fees, but you lost your ass on the item. It's messed up. Most sellers have put in their time to see if they can make a profit or to see if TH will change, but they all seem to end up leaving. I'm convinced the only ones who stay to sell there are the counterfeit or crappy quality sellers who are buying items for next to nothing, because that seems to be the only way to make a profit there these days. I would go the ebay route if you're looking to sell.

Based on several factors including the location of the buyer, the location of the seller, cost of the order, history of returns requested, and the reason for the return, a return request will result in one of the following four outcomes:
1. You may receive a refund for an item, and return will not be required.
2. If you live in the United States, you may receive a free return shipping label to cover the cost of returning your item.
3. If you live outside of the United States, you may receive a store credit to offset the cost of returning your item.
4. You may return the item and assume the cost of return shipping on your own. In any case, we are happy to offer easy returns for any reason, for up to 30 days from delivery.
Tophatter will always process refunds for buyers upon receiving a valid tracking number from them indicating that the order has been returned to the seller. On our platform, refund without return or prepaid return labels are provided to U.S.-based buyers until the buyer hits a threshold for free returns. For internationally located buyers, we provide a refund without return or some store credit to offset some of the cost of returning the item at their own expense until the buyer hits the threshold.
The acceptable return threshold is continuously calculated as a percentage of the buyer's total purchases. Once this threshold has been met, the cost of returning the item to the seller with tracking will be at the buyer's expense. When this happens, it is explained in the email buyers receive when they request a return, that they are responsible for the return shipping cost, and the buyer is provided with the seller's return address to facilitate the successful return of the order.
