I can't believe they are still up and running. It must be part of the new way of business. Take the credit card, charge the customer's account but don't send the product purchased. This happened to me more than ten times before I realized they would not send any of my purchases. This is outrageous!

I accidentally bid on a tablet type device. I decided to return it for a refund the postage to return the device the postage was so expensive I would have spent 50% of what I paid for the device. Plus It took a month to get but I had a only a week to send it back. I guess I will try to sell it to get my money back. I may not bid on any of their auctions again.

Best auction site so far. Only pay for what you win. No entry fees or pesky sign up offers from other sites. Shipped is faster than most and no damaged goods.
Another scam from China. Look at the profile of all of the 4-5 star reviews. All have only the one review and no other relationship. This is similar to Chinese clothing scams, which interestingly turned out to be one large company in China operating under multiple fake business names (Zulily, Rosegal, Romwe, etc.) I wouldn't be surprised if this was the same company again operating under a different guise.

I am very wary of buying things on apps like Tophatter but I thought I'd give it a shot. They gave me free $5 so I bought a little bluetooth speaker. It works pretty well. No complaints aside from super slow shipping.
I then bought a bag/purse for $7. It was cute but way smaller than the description said. I put in for a refund and they processed it right away without me needing to send the item back. I was impressed.
The reason for the 3 stars is that the stuff is the quality of stuff you buy at the $1 store. Make sure to look in the free shipping section and don't pay more than $10 for any of it and you will do fine. Just be advised this stuff ships from China and can take up to a month to arrive.

I bid on a product and won. Yeah. Then I tried to pay and my payment wouldnt go through. I tried many times. I checked my billing and mailing addresses and both were correct though it kept saying by billing address was wrong. So I cancelled the order. I went back to the site just looking at product. Next thing I know I get an email saying I won. But I didnt bid on this product. So I cancelled the order. Then I get an email saying I am banned from bidding for a while. Yes they said that I could be banned after I cancelled the first order, but I cancelled because their site was messed up not because I didnt want to pay. They need to figure things out on their website so things go smoother. It looks like other people have good experiences, not me and I am done.

I love this site. Getting my items in the mail is fun. I have most of my Christmas shopping done already, and for a fraction of the cost. I had problems with 2 items out of over 20 and they refunded my money immediately and told me to keep the item.

Tophatter makes making bids very exciting. The problem is that the items people are bidding on are from China. The chances of getting them on Wish or a similar site is better and much, much cheaper, because its the same stuff like on those sites. Tophatter makes you feel like you are getting a super quality item. Forget it. Buyer beware and dont be fooled!

I bought two things.
1. A Canon all in one printer.
The seller removed the ink cartridge that comes with it. Scam
2. A 64GB micro chip. Ii came and only contained One GB.
SO now I'm supposed to repackage, go to post office, establish a complaint (rma#), and pay postage tip mail the crap chip back to China?

I love tophatter. Somethings watch out for... 9 out of 10 is great! Its a great place to shop for decent uet cheap items.
My experience with Tophatter website has been great 5 stars. The problem I have is some the items I received look very cheap and do not match the size or quality displayed on the pictures. Sometimes the time is limited I didn't have a chance to read the full description. Once I do if I cancel the order I run the risk of not being able to purchase again, I am stuck with something I will never use. Otherwise I love this site. I have made several purchases that are great and will continue to use Tophatter.

Answer: There is also the FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION that can help with these types of problems

Answer: Justin you are absolutely correct. I find out the hard way. I had my own auction with nice AUTHENTIC designer items and cosmetics (Becca, Cargo, Smahbox, Too Faced, etc). I lost big time. $40 Cargo palette sold for $10; it cost me $15. Items that I started higher to cover my cost never sold. I still had to pay fees for the item being listed. A $200 Calvin Klein purse sold for $20; it cost me $80 wholesale. Run!
Answer: If you end up buying a few items from the same seller they can do a combined shipment but you rarely get the same buyer items since they only let the sellers sell 10 items a day. It is different for the sellers that have their own auctions.
Answer: You will notice the same names no matter the day, time etc. Bidding against you very often. Is it a coincidence? Personally I don't believe in coincidences.
Answer: Depends on what you are selling. Yes, a lot of items go unsold in the jewelry and accessories categories... as well as others. Coach and Michael Kors and other designer brands, not much goes unsold, because here's the catch - - you pay fees on the starting bid. TH wants everything to start at $1. So you get punished if you start higher as to not get screwed by a low purchase price. Say you buy a designer bag for $120. If you start that bag at $100, you're already paying over $10 in fees. **IF** you can manage to sell it for a profit, there are still the commission and bank fees. If you start it at $1, you're barely paying any listing fees but it might only sell for $80 (or less!). So, less fees, but you lost your ass on the item. It's messed up. Most sellers have put in their time to see if they can make a profit or to see if TH will change, but they all seem to end up leaving. I'm convinced the only ones who stay to sell there are the counterfeit or crappy quality sellers who are buying items for next to nothing, because that seems to be the only way to make a profit there these days. I would go the ebay route if you're looking to sell.
