I decided to use CVnow when I returned to the job market after being made redundant to discover that job applications have changed somewhat in the last 25 years!
In common with some of the other reviews my first CV wasn't the best with a lack of understanding of my industry and over use of "Americanisms"
However, following my complaint, I was immediately re-assigned and the resulting CV and covering letter are excellent. Well written, professional and easily modified to suit individual job applications. It has been very well received by recruitment agencies and I feel confident that it will bring a positive outcome

I feel that CV Now have carried out a most professional and excellent job at re-writing my C. V, the result of the makeover is absolute amazing, and far better than I was expecting. I was also impressed with their willingness to carry out any necessary amendments and modifications, as part of the package. I started using the new CV straight away.

They were frank and honest with their assessment of my efforts at producing a C. V and honestly explained that my C. V was not getting past the software, filters that most employers use to look at the various applications to determine the most suitable candidates for the advertised post.

I felt that it was a case of no pain no gain, that it was worth my while in spending resources for my C. C to have an up to date professional appearance, if this results in me finding employment in the near future,

( no matter how long it takes) then I feel the money will have been have been worth the investment.

I thought what do I have to lose by getting professional help with my tired CV, like any other business you need to invest to get a good or great return and I got that in spades. I admit I sat and read my new CV several times, asking myself ' wow is that really me?' And the answer was yes it is, but in a brighter more professional light. The introduction letter, thank you letter and Linkiden review put the icing on the cake. I have had a lot of interest on my Linkiden profile.

Unfortunately my new CV hasnt been that successful and I have only gained a very limited number of interviews.
At first I thought I was pitching myself to the wrong jobs even though I have many years experience in my field sector and have always done very well.
I started asking for feedback from the agencies and low and behold many of them thought my new CV was poor and the old one was actually better just slightly too long in content.
Having never used agencies to get work before and never needing a CV I was naive when being pushed by not only CV Now but other CV writer companies as well; I now feel slightly conned out of my £220 which would have been better spent elsewhere.
My advice would be get agencies and other people to comment on and help with your CV writing getting feedback each time to submit enabling you to update and make any necessary changes as required.

I had been trying on my own to land a job by sending a CV that was both bland and uninspiring. I had not realized this until I had one prepared for me by Cvnow. The service itself was excellent and did what I paid for, but the outstanding part was the CV itself and the cover letter. A very concise, presentable and modern looking CV highlighting all the right points and playing down any aspects that could have a negative impact. The first interview came in two days later!

They do not meet the dates they set to get the CV back to you, mine was full of spelling mistakes, including my name, which were not rectified in the final draft, in fact no changes were made in the so called revision period, the first draft was sent back to me unchanged with the same shoddy mistakes. And not only did I not get more interviews as they claim but I got instant rejections which has never happened with previous CVs. My CV was written by someone in America and they clearly don't know what is expected in the UK job market and they used American spellings. They promise that if you don't get a certain number of interviews they will rewrite the CV but once they have your money you won't hear from them again. The cover letter was just a copy and paste of stock phrases.

Had my CV reviewed and decided to pay for the Re-Write.

Had some initial teething problems with the CV writer. But then remembered that it is a two way street and that my input was required to get a CV that I was happy with.

Have had lots of positive reviews from recruiters. But still waiting for interviews.
