On SmartCustomer, businesses may not offer incentives or pay to remove reviews. Read more about our Review Guidelines and the process we have against fake reviews.
Just another massive online scam. They prey on business owners who are not web savvy and charge ludicrous rates.
Run away!
I'm not much for reviews but I did receive a contract for $10,000 a month from a company who found me on ThomasNet. I have to admit I was hesitant considering the investment amount but all I needed was that 1 company. ThomasNet delivered.
We have been a customer with ThomasNet for years. ThomasNet always drives customers, prospects to us -and our money is well spent. Our Sales person is sincere and honest and has always helped us make good decisions regarding our advertising and our overall presence on the internet over the years.
ThomasNet has provided my company with a steady stream of new qualified buyers from all over world. We have been able to expand our customer base from regional to international in just the first few years. We find our advertising budget with ThomasNet to be money really well spent.
We use ThomasNet.com at work a lot, It is better than general search engines for finding diverse suppliers and it is really nice to be able to create short lists and send RFI's for free.
We use this site at work all the time to find suppliers. It is a very handy resource easy and free to use. Love that fact they don't required registration like other sites do. They even have CAD files you can download which makes it easier for engineers like me.
We have been extremely disappointed. The leads we have gotten have been a total waste of time. We are a service based business selling to other businesses. We asked to be released from our contract due to non performance on their part and they wouldn't even respond.
The only thing we've gotten of value is a few SEO suggestions from the sales rep. Everything else is a total waste of time.
I was very impressed with the ease of use, content, limitless data and training you can receive by utilizing what is offered to you. A strong product that will help your business if used.
I strongly recommend ThomasNet to any industrial supplier, distributor, or service company who is interested in growing their business.
For the past eight years we have worked with ThomasNet in building our Internet marketing presence to capture more business opportunities from industrial buyers. I appreciate that ThomasNet enables us to customize our program to focus on specific products and gain a competitive advantage in our industry by choosing our ranking versus the competition. This program has generated several large accounts and qualified leads from buyers who are looking for specific products. We have a seasoned sales rep who takes the time to maximize the full potential of ThomasNet and make modifications when needed has also contributed to the success of the services.
ThomasNet fully developed our Online Catalog and seamlessly integrated it into our Website. We now consider our site to be an invaluable sales tool that provides elevated levels of interaction between our clients and us. Activity to our site is up 100% due to the additional content and SEO friendliness of the site. Most important of all is that sales and RFQs generated from our Online presence are up significantly and we attribute this directly to ThomasNet.
The tools for tracking our results have been instrumental in building our Internet marketing strategy (WebTraxs). We can see the clear difference ThomasNet makes in driving more visitors to our site. What's more, the ThomasNet users are a qualified, "ready to buy" audience. We are able to accurately measure the results from multi-media resources such as trade publications, trade shows, and other industrial directories. Time and again, ThomasNet stands out as the top resource in our marketing strategy.
I use Thomasnet and advertise in it. We get great results. I'm shocked to hear these poor reviews, I'll wager they are mostly SEO firms who want a piece of Thomasnet's business. Most manufacturers and industrial suppliers I know are in Thomasnet and have been for years.
This has been a great free resource for me. I never paid for any services but it's a great resource if you are looking to get quotes for manufacturing.
This sight has been around for a long time offing engineering service, promoting your engineering service or product. It was a great tool for me as an Engineer about 5 years ago. I find that they had let the internet money making scams take that tool over. I refuse to use a place that I must dig forever to find the info I am looking for. I think they need to get back to what was working for them... That is my opinion... Frontrunner
Just a big word of warning regarding ThomasNet. I replaced another marketing person, and am reviewing new and 7 years of annual contracts. ThomasNet charged between 7-$10K per year but when I took the list of companies TN says that they referred to us over the last 7 years, no one here recognizes any of them as former or current OEM buyers. They have provided us with very little other than white 3-ring binders for nearly $80K. Others are right, use an independent entity to create your website, and Google Adwords to target your internet ad buys.
Also, based on personal experience, the company stodge replying on this site ("Mike H.") is entirely wrong on each post he's made (and he clearly needs someone to tell him about identity theft). Curious how his words seem lifted from their site or their now very outdated contracts. UPDATE: I've now pulled and reviewed all 7 years worth of contracts, and like the books that predate their site, neither their 'internet marketing solutions' nor their contracts have changed very little. Ah, heck, the internet hasn't changed much over the last 7 years.
Their website is fine. As a company they rip off their advertisers. We had to deal with a drug addicted sales rep who ripped us off, inaccurate billing, and then a lawsuit when we refused to pay for all of the rip-off. Greedy attorneys tricked the courts into getting four times what we owed them and refused to pay when they failed to deliver. The volume of leads from advertising their was miniscule, their responsiveness a joke, their refusal to provide any accounting statements criminal. Save your money and go to Global Source or Google to advertise and get more bang for your buck.
Excellent source for everything related to engineering; products, catalogs, CAD drawings, finding engineering service, promoting your engineering service or product.
