Excellent products and customer service. Trustworthy purposes because the rigorous high standards they have for a product. I'll continue buying from this store
Love looking at what I cannot find in my small city. I find the info about the items to be very good. I do find that it's less about size labels and more about the actual measurements so, it can be time consuming to figure out. Until you know how brands fit you, I suggest leaving the size filter open to all. I have been very happy with all my purchases.
Awesome deals to be found if you do some work. Search bar isn't the best you really have to dig. Awful commission rate that seems to change a lot for no reason.
I very much appreciated being given the courtesy of an extension of my expiring Site Credit. I wrote in the evening and had a positive response the next morning. Thank you for your excellent customer service.
First they priced my item way too low it was a barely warm Gucci leather jacket they had priced at $500 I could have sold it myself for that. Then I complained and they adjusted the price to $1000... so weird. Then it took over a month for them to take photo and actually post the listing. Each time I needed to talk to someone it would take over and hour to talk customer service.
Oh yes and now that the listing is finally posted after they have had it for months it went to 20% off after a couple weeks so it's back to a very low price for what the item is worth.
Sell your items yourself!
I've had so much fun selling and buying cool stuff on this site for years. A+
Real Real is great for certian items that don't show wear and tear that well. Like Neck Ties. Dress shirts. Or things that can be cleaned easily.
I bought a cotton base ball hat for $150! And it had sweat stains from the previous owner.
I always find just what I need and I'm assured that the items I choose are going to be as described and in the condition shown. There are so many designer choices and styles to choose from that I never leave the site disappointed, and the price tags create a guilt-free shopping experience.
I sent a huge box of designer pieces, some never worn at all, some with tags, some without. I carefully gave them to a rep locally in hanging bags. They were returned to me by shipment folded up in bags and are a wrinkled mess. You described them as stained, but I am not sure how that could be on some of them... since never worn. Chloe, Carolina Herrera, and more...
I ordered 4 RL clothing items. A silk knit sweater arrived with a hole in the back. I did not realize this until 4 days after the return deadline. I emailed TRR when I discovered this, but never received a response. I have had good experiences with TRR in the past, so this is rather disappointing.
I emailed customer service and got my question answered quickly and efficiently.
When you consign your items you have a one on one FaceTime appointment and it makes the process so much easier and quicker. They are so nice and communicative and it really makes consigning easy!
From shopping to delivery, my The RealReal experience was great! So much selection, well labeled and easy to browse. My items arrived quickly and just as described.
I sent in a $5000 Mary McFadden top and skirt to sell. The skirt got separated from the top and was retuned as "unmarked" designer goods. I immediately asked that the top be returned to me as I had secured a buyer who was willing to pay me $1400 for the set. The Real Real lost my top and after 5 months, they paid me $95 and kept their commission! I have written to the owner, but based on this horrid experience, I doubt I will hear back. They also lost my friend's clothing for months - Chanel, LV, Akris, Hermes, etc. Thousands of dollars worth of goods. Further, their exerts are anything but experts. I bought a lamb skin short jacket from them which I never wore, so put it up for sale where it was listed as cotton. I sent them a Chanel silk raincoat they listed as polyester. A sham and dishonest business from where I stand.
The gold bracelets had to be adjusted kept opening and the in broke in the middle. Jeweler said it is old and worn out and should be redone. He wanted 500 to secure all the links and do them over. He said all the stones have to come out for him to properly do tjis
The shoes I ordered were Gucci women size 7, I have learned the hard way to only order designer shoes that you know are your size because some designer run bigger. I ordered LV shoes from the RealReal that were to large for my usual size so I paid the $11.95 the RealReal charges you to send them back.
I own Gucci shoes, so I ordered from them 2 pairs of Gucci shoes costing $1051. 76. When they arrived they were way too large. Even though they were promoted as women size 7 they had to be mens size 7. Several attempts to call RealReal and I was on hold for more than 30 mins, so hung up. Sent email to them because I did not feel I should be charged the $11.95 to return them. They asked me to provide pictures proving the shoes were the incorrect size which I did, since I own Gucci size 7. They authorized the return and when they credited my card they still charged me the $11.95 shipping fee. They made me prove the shoes where the incorrect size, told me I would not be charged the shipping fee but they did charge me the fee anyway. This time when I called customer service someone answered at least and told me she would credit my account the $11.95. We will see. I have shopped with them for years but this will likely be the last time. Very disappointed and inconvenienced by this. Felt like they tried to trick me out of the shipping fee. I would have kept the shoes if they were the correct size. Beware and check your credit card statements.
This is my third order that has proven to have more scruff, spots or damage than stated.
I've recently done a small slew of business with The RealReal, and I'm highly satisfied overall. The website is easy and intuitive to navigate, their stuff is exactly as advertised--never an unpleasant surprise, the checkout/payment process is smooth, delivery is prompt, and I'm confident I've received no fake bags or other items. The RealReal would have received a perfect five-star rating from me but for the way they bagged up my last few batches of clothing: almost offensively sloppily, maximizing wrinkles and conveying a lack of care. I realize I'm going to have to dry clean my vintage/consignment purchases, but The RealReal seems to forget we that we eat with our eyes first. Neatly folded clothes have far greater appeal when the bag or box is opened. Treat the clothes with respect!
The stylists are lovely and very helpful. However, I have consigned some new and very expensive items and felt that they did not price them in such a way to get me the most money. TRR is happy to move your items quickly but at a cost, a lesser cost than if you took your items to a consignment shop. I gave them a pair of $350 Stuart Weitzman shoes that were brand new. They sold and I received $20. They are great if you want to sell items quickly and don't care about how much you get for your items.
Answer: Do not buy from them! Their return/refund policy is skewed to their benefit. In my case, I bought a Louis Vuitton bag and when it was received it was not in the condition advertised or the photos did not highlight the real wear of the bag and they refused to make a refund or credit. It's their lost because I have since bought many bags on Ebay which offers guarantee of refund should item be faulty or misrepresented. Also, on Ebay you can judge by seller feedback whether the seller is reputable and PRICES are so much less than on the REAL REAL. Their name should be changed to the REAL GREED!
Answer: Hi Samantha. The RealReal does sometimes ask for additional information from customers for a one time security check. Most times, this is for new customers who have never shopped with us before, orders with vastly different billing and shipping information, or are international customers with unverified credit cards. We will ask for some sensitive and personal information for the purposes of verifying the identity of the purchaser but we will not ask for a Social Security Number. Was your father attempting to complete his purchase via Affirm? Affirm is a third party company we work with that offers financing on purchases. If your father was attempting to complete a purchase via Affirm, they do require a SSN for a soft credit check for the loan approval and repayment options. As Affirm is a third party, we do not have access to any of that information so it is secure with Affirm. Of course, no one is required to use Affirm for check out, rather it's just another payment option we offer. Please feel free to reach out to us if this does not answer your questions or if you feel that the explanations provided were not applicable to your situation. You can reach out to our Customer Service Department at (855) 435 5893 from 8am to 5pm (PST). If you would like to speak to a supervisor directly, please feel free to ask for Caitlin from our NJ office. She is available from 9am to 6pm (EST) and of course you can reach us via email at: [email protected].
Answer: If you like to be frustrated, disappointed and want to take a few years off your life, then yes consign with the real real.
Answer: I do NOT recommend selling through TRR. Read all seller reviews. This a speed selling co trying to cash in on a quick commission. The prices they assign are RIDICULOULOUS at best. They are not there to get you a good price but a fast buck for themselves. They priced a brand new prada bag with a label on at $625. Minus 20% permanent discount, 60% of that, I receive a whopping $312. After 10 days wait of processing and seeing the prices assigned I pulled my items. I was shocked and even more upset. I rather give the cloths to charity or sell them myself. I think it is insiders who buy the best items at dirt cheap prices they assign themselves. As a buyer just today I receive a wrong item. They were going to research the problem and find the item I purchased, a coat. They sent me a dirty silk top... This is after waiting for 10 days to get the wrong item. This co is just very bad. Customer service is spotty. Some reps are just dreadful. They sound like this is a summer gig and they got no training, you can never speak to a supervisor, none is ever available, Read the reviews and decide if you still want to use this co. If you do, you will be disappointed,
Answer: Hello, We are sorry to hear of your concerns. If you can please send us your order number or email address we will happily research this further.
Answer: Hi Frank, Thank you for reaching out. We apologize you have seen more negative than positive reviews. We would be pleased to advise you on our consignment process and share a little more insight about the RealReal.
Answer: I don't work for The Real Real I am just a satisfied customer, very satisfied! I see all the complaints, and just shake my head. Knowing how people can be, and also knowing the complainers are the ones who write letters, I can only assume they are "out of touch with reality", or POSSIBLY are competitors who are just being difficult to try and hurt the site. Remember, anyone can write anything, that does not mean it is true, nor are ALL the facts being presented! As for me, I am willing to show, and prove who I am, and the great products and service I received.
Answer: This happened to me only one time, and I have sold quite a few items with them. As soon as I received the quote for a pair of earrings. I contacted them immediately and said I felt the price was to low due to various reasons, and they got back to me the next day with an adjusted price. I have never experienced what you are describing above as a bait and switch scenario, and I always check the similar or same items they are selling. I would just call them and ask for the details as to why the other item is higher. Sorry you had a bad experience!
Answer: File a complaint with the US Customs office in your area and your state's attorney general. Also for many types of goods, they will destroy the counterfeit goods and give you a letter stating they have done so. This is ironclad proof for the bank dispute.
Answer: I have returned things with no hassle at all.
