I have been in contact with TRR regarding an incorrectly listed Burberry trench for more than a month. This men's XL coat was originally listed as women's and I contacted them about this mistake. It was relisted as men's but incorrectly marked as an XS, despite the tag and measurements corresponding to an XL. When I brought this error to their attention I was told the copy edit would take 3-4 business days and the item was unlisted and marked as "Update In Progress". It has remained that way for 4 weeks now. My last communication to TRR was 5 business days ago with no response.
I gave the Realreal my rarely-used, beautiful leather Marc Jacob handbag for consignment. When I saw that it was priced for a mingy $140, I requested for their pricing department to reevaluate. It was taken off the shelf for a while, and suddenly went back on sale without my permission and was sold instantly (congrats to the buyer for such a bargain). Despite my repeated pleas, no one bothered to halt the sale. The commission I got for this $1000+ item? $40!
Afterwards, I asked multiple times to speak with the head of customer service or consinger relations. So far no one is willing to spare a few minutes!
There are multiple other incidents that I have encountered to make my experience with the RealReal a bad one.
It's evident that the organization is a royal mess. They intentionally set prices at ultra low levels to squeeze out competition, perhaps. Regardless, it is a nightmare for consigners. On top of it, they couldn't care less about your experience. I felt ripped off, mercilessly!
I would highly recommend shopping the RealReal app. Everything I ordered was neatly packaged, clean and delivered on time.
This is my second time purchasing items with TRR. My first experience was a little better. I feel like I got more bang for my buck. I'm satisfied but I think there should have been more of a discount on what I purchased, or the price should have been a little lower.
This is the second piece of clothing that I have bought recently that I've diss appointed with. The dress came dirty. It looks like something was spilled on it. Previously I bought a sweater that had a lot of pilling on one side. Both were reviewed in the description as very good. I've been shopping on the RealReal for many many years. Very good used to mean very good. I will look more carefully before buying and only shop on excellent or better IF I continue to shop here
It's always a seamless transaction with the Real Real from the purchases and returns. My only suggestion would be including a return label for shipping returns. If you wanted to charge additional for the label, It would be fine. This would help when not having access to a printer.
Ordered 2 Chanel boots. Was super excited about 1 pair... too bad I got an email saying their inventory was incorrect and the boots weren't available. Major let down. But I was refunded and that's a plus. The other Chanel boots I ordered looked brand New so that was a awesome, but they were too small. The negative is they take a reshelfing fee or whatever it's called and you don't get the full amount you paid back. Overall the experience wasn't horrible, just a fail. I am considering buying again from them, but nothing like shoes... maybe a bag. You know it will fit and there is no guessing game.
I love the idea of TRR, but the execution is poor. The return policy is garbage and not at all clearly dictated, shipping is overpriced and crazy slow (currently waiting on an order I purchased over a week ago to ship after paying $12 shipping), and the price of items is all over the place. I often find the exact same item in the same condition at three wildly different prices. I keep shopping TRR not because it's great, but because there isn't really another option.
I was very pleased. I had a very nice person to work with. Helped me through everything and answered all my questions. I am excited to work with her again. Definitely be working with The RealReal more. Thanks so much!
Since buying from the real real, I've never had an problems, especially when the description and return policy is stated. I will continue buying from your company.
On a couple occasions I have purchased items that were not available. This was rather disappointing. I'm unsure why this issue happens but more transparency on why items were not available after purchase would be nice. If it's an issue with their computer system or stock process this process should be fixed. I shop regularly on this site and it's always a big disappointment days after the purchase receiving an email that says the item is no longer available. The company did provide a $25 voucher for the inconvenience.
After several emails going unanswered about a damaged dress I spoke to a very helpful lady who handled the problem and agreed to buy back as damaged item.
The order arrived within a few days in Europe. One item could not be shipped. I got the amount for the missing itemI credited back on my credit card 2 days later.
Cannot beat the selection, prices are excellent
Delivery was surprisingly quick and shipping cost was very very reasonable, clothes arrived in good condition
Loved nearly everything that I ordered

This credit expires quickly. I have emailed regarding requesting it be reinstated with no acknowledgement of my email. Products received were satisfactory. Customer service not so pleasant.
Answer: Do not buy from them! Their return/refund policy is skewed to their benefit. In my case, I bought a Louis Vuitton bag and when it was received it was not in the condition advertised or the photos did not highlight the real wear of the bag and they refused to make a refund or credit. It's their lost because I have since bought many bags on Ebay which offers guarantee of refund should item be faulty or misrepresented. Also, on Ebay you can judge by seller feedback whether the seller is reputable and PRICES are so much less than on the REAL REAL. Their name should be changed to the REAL GREED!

Most times, this is for new customers who have never shopped with us before, orders with vastly different billing and shipping information, or are international customers with unverified credit cards. We will ask for some sensitive and personal information for the purposes of verifying the identity of the purchaser but we will not ask for a Social Security Number. Was your father attempting to complete his purchase via Affirm? Affirm is a third party company we work with that offers financing on purchases. If your father was attempting to complete a purchase via Affirm, they do require a SSN for a soft credit check for the loan approval and repayment options. As Affirm is a third party, we do not have access to any of that information so it is secure with Affirm. Of course, no one is required to use Affirm for check out, rather it's just another payment option we offer. Answer: I do NOT recommend selling through TRR. Read all seller reviews. This a speed selling co trying to cash in on a quick commission. The prices they assign are RIDICULOULOUS at best. They are not there to get you a good price but a fast buck for themselves. They priced a brand new prada bag with a label on at $625. Minus 20% permanent discount, 60% of that, I receive a whopping $312. After 10 days wait of processing and seeing the prices assigned I pulled my items. I was shocked and even more upset. I rather give the cloths to charity or sell them myself. I think it is insiders who buy the best items at dirt cheap prices they assign themselves. As a buyer just today I receive a wrong item. They were going to research the problem and find the item I purchased, a coat. They sent me a dirty silk top... This is after waiting for 10 days to get the wrong item. This co is just very bad. Customer service is spotty. Some reps are just dreadful. They sound like this is a summer gig and they got no training, you can never speak to a supervisor, none is ever available, Read the reviews and decide if you still want to use this co. Answer: I don't work for The Real Real I am just a satisfied customer, very satisfied! I see all the complaints, and just shake my head. Knowing how people can be, and also knowing the complainers are the ones who write letters, I can only assume they are "out of touch with reality", or POSSIBLY are competitors who are just being difficult to try and hurt the site. Remember, anyone can write anything, that does not mean it is true, nor are ALL the facts being presented! As for me, I am willing to show, and prove who I am, and the great products and service I received.
Answer: This happened to me only one time, and I have sold quite a few items with them. As soon as I received the quote for a pair of earrings. I contacted them immediately and said I felt the price was to low due to various reasons, and they got back to me the next day with an adjusted price. I have never experienced what you are describing above as a bait and switch scenario, and I always check the similar or same items they are selling. I would just call them and ask for the details as to why the other item is higher. Sorry you had a bad experience!
Answer: File a complaint with the US Customs office in your area and your state's attorney general. Also for many types of goods, they will destroy the counterfeit goods and give you a letter stating they have done so. This is ironclad proof for the bank dispute.
