I was wrongfully charged more money than what my receipt stated. Customer support said they could not refund, only give store credit. While trying to resolve this issue, the customer agent became very defensive and rude, and hung up on me. Will definitely NOT be doing business with this company again, and will advise others not to as well.
I purchased shoes To wear for my wedding, they are definitely used but said we're in good condition with no damages. They arrived and had significant damages. I took them to my shoe guy to try and get a quote on what it would take to repair them thinking the real real would pay me back. The real real will only give me compensation in the form of a site credit that isValid for 30 days. That's not very helpful. They said they would rather I return the shoes then keep them and get them fixed, that's not exactly living up to their values of sustainability. I'm Incredibly disappointed that this wasn't easier to fix and also that the shoes were damaged upon arrival. Not impressed
The items being shipped to me via USPSwere determined to be missing more than two weeks ago and I still haven't received a refund from TRR.
I've sent items into the real real twice. The first time I sent in clothes and jewelry and a diamond ring went missing. After ours an hours of working this out, the company blamed it on me and did not take responsibility after the fact their own representative came to my house and collected it herself. Then after, the company tried to tell me that diamond ring was not real and try to pay me a fraction of the price of it's worth. After going through bank statements and proving to them the worth of the ring, they proceeded to tell me they will pay me 40% of what it is worth. Hours more, we finally settled on 80%. This was after about three weeks and 20 hours of arguing. The second time around (and the last) I sent an earrings which on their account did arrive however upon them sending it back to me it never came in any shipment. Here we go again. BEWARE!
I have been shopping and consigning with TRR since 2017. I have never encountered any issue until April - June 2021. I've recently placed 2 orders with total amount about $100 each (used discount code and store credit). Those 2 orders were never shipped in 2 weeks. When I inquired about them, I was refunded the whole amount and shipping cost with an explanation that they made a mistake at warehouse. I've also places 2 other orders total $300-400 each. Those were shipped within 1-2 days. I placed another order today and I'm worried about whether it will be fulfilled or not. Is TRR prioritizing shipping by amount of money spent? If my assumption is correct, that's really shady and unfair. I demand an explanation.
My decision to return one of three items was delayed because I was out of town.
I appreciate that RealReal took the return and gave me a site/store credit.

I like you guys so much so I couldn't write a bad review even though I really not happy with my recents purchased experience. I bought a Cartier watch and it was "Not Authentic" I expected that you certified every items before listed on the market. Quite disappointed! But I did receive exceptional customer service to help me resolved this issue, which I really appreciate him. I usually purchased clothings and this was my first time bought watch with you, however, I did also buy the second Cartier watch and this one is "Real" Whew! I'm happy about this, that's why I really don't want to write a bad review, I just want you to be more careful and really inspect every single items before list it, specially jewelry. Thanks

I bought many items some of them couldn't not be returned, but consignment was not possible because the goods were delivered to Hong Kong. No information was provided on the website. Very disappointing experience
Decided to reclaim a dress from consignment and it was handled quickly. Dress arrived in the same condition as when I sent it in. Very satisfied with such good service.
The jacket is in better condition than described and it truly pops with color. And the price - delicious! Thank you.
The tunic blouse and the linen pants were as expected. Basic items and in excellent condition. The "wool pea coat" was disappointing. Pea coat infers outerwear... the jacket was a very thin/light weight double breasted blazer. I would have returned it but my daughter likes it and has taken it over.
I bought something on 6/1 for next day shipping. It is lost in your warehouse, it was never sent out. You have my money but I have no item... or tracking number the man promised he'd get back to me today and he did not. Not nice.
Had 6 Brioni suits returned... when they were picked up at my apartment, I met them outside, had all 9 suits & 2 sportscoats dry cleaned & placed on new wood hangers... additionally I placed them in suit carrying covers without folding them... they returned 6 suits and folded them in sacks without the hangers & covers... most likely they would be professionally returned if they were sent from a prison...
The cost of having pressed because of how they were returned was $120...

My experience has been unsatisfactory. I ordered 2 pairs of pants and a dress on April 19,2021. At some point my shipment was damaged and undeliverable, I was never contacted. I only found this out when I initiated contact with customer service wondering where my shipment was. I was refunded for the pants but they were tracking down the dress for me. I was promised next day shipping. This was on May 21. I still have not received my dress or word on it's status. I will not be purchasing from The Real Real again. This has been a very frustrating experience.
Made me promises and made me stay on the line for 45 minutes or longer and at the end did not deliver.
I always love the experience at the RealReal. The brick and mortar is really nice but the selection online cannot be beat. Honestly, I have way to many outerwear but I keep coming back for more.
Answer: Do not buy from them! Their return/refund policy is skewed to their benefit. In my case, I bought a Louis Vuitton bag and when it was received it was not in the condition advertised or the photos did not highlight the real wear of the bag and they refused to make a refund or credit. It's their lost because I have since bought many bags on Ebay which offers guarantee of refund should item be faulty or misrepresented. Also, on Ebay you can judge by seller feedback whether the seller is reputable and PRICES are so much less than on the REAL REAL. Their name should be changed to the REAL GREED!

Most times, this is for new customers who have never shopped with us before, orders with vastly different billing and shipping information, or are international customers with unverified credit cards. We will ask for some sensitive and personal information for the purposes of verifying the identity of the purchaser but we will not ask for a Social Security Number. Was your father attempting to complete his purchase via Affirm? Affirm is a third party company we work with that offers financing on purchases. If your father was attempting to complete a purchase via Affirm, they do require a SSN for a soft credit check for the loan approval and repayment options. As Affirm is a third party, we do not have access to any of that information so it is secure with Affirm. Answer: I do NOT recommend selling through TRR. Read all seller reviews. This a speed selling co trying to cash in on a quick commission. The prices they assign are RIDICULOULOUS at best. They are not there to get you a good price but a fast buck for themselves. They priced a brand new prada bag with a label on at $625. Minus 20% permanent discount, 60% of that, I receive a whopping $312. After 10 days wait of processing and seeing the prices assigned I pulled my items. I was shocked and even more upset. I rather give the cloths to charity or sell them myself. I think it is insiders who buy the best items at dirt cheap prices they assign themselves. As a buyer just today I receive a wrong item. They were going to research the problem and find the item I purchased, a coat. They sent me a dirty silk top... This is after waiting for 10 days to get the wrong item. This co is just very bad. Customer service is spotty. Some reps are just dreadful. They sound like this is a summer gig and they got no training, you can never speak to a supervisor, none is ever available, Read the reviews and decide if you still want to use this co. Answer: I don't work for The Real Real I am just a satisfied customer, very satisfied! I see all the complaints, and just shake my head. Knowing how people can be, and also knowing the complainers are the ones who write letters, I can only assume they are "out of touch with reality", or POSSIBLY are competitors who are just being difficult to try and hurt the site. Remember, anyone can write anything, that does not mean it is true, nor are ALL the facts being presented! As for me, I am willing to show, and prove who I am, and the great products and service I received.
Answer: This happened to me only one time, and I have sold quite a few items with them. As soon as I received the quote for a pair of earrings. I contacted them immediately and said I felt the price was to low due to various reasons, and they got back to me the next day with an adjusted price. I have never experienced what you are describing above as a bait and switch scenario, and I always check the similar or same items they are selling. I would just call them and ask for the details as to why the other item is higher. Sorry you had a bad experience!
Answer: File a complaint with the US Customs office in your area and your state's attorney general. Also for many types of goods, they will destroy the counterfeit goods and give you a letter stating they have done so. This is ironclad proof for the bank dispute.
