Love Love Love the REALREAL

I live in New Zealand EVERYTHING is expensive, it's cheaper to shop at the REALREAL than "Recycle boutiques" (Though I hit them hard also) in NZ. Limited designer choices and if you buy NZ designers you end up looking like everyone else. It is good to have the affordable opportunity to mix my style up and recycle.

Not satisfied

Never got an answer back after I sent the pics. The item was not as described. Dress pin was missing and a red stain looked like blood was on the inside of hem. All I ask is for a credit so I can purchase a pin and get dress cleaned

Some improvements could be made

Wish there was a landing page that showed all new items across all saved searches instead of having to look through each saved search.
The timing feature is annoying as it makes it difficult to finalize what items to purchase since there is a pressure to buy.

Excessive fees

Surprise and excessive fees for returning items. Also for no discernible reason, some clothing items were returnable and others were put back on consignment with excessive fees for doing so. I wouldn't be surprised if this is illegal.

Poor customer service
October 4, 2021

I'm tired of not having my issues resolved with your customer service dept. I have consigned thousands of dollars with of merchandise and anytime I reach out to customer service with an issue with a purchase they never read my email fully. They don't address my needs or concerns. This latest instance all I needed was a shipping label and invoice so I could mail something back since the systems didn't generate one, it said "oops, something went wrong with the site". It did generate an RMA number so I included that in my request and it's been 4 days and I still don't have it. Evidently YOUR system changes my email on customer service requests to *******@me.com, instead of *******@mac.com. It's all done on the same computer and the representatives don't get it that that's the same thing. I place orders and my email reads as *******@mac.com on the shipping invoice, I get requests for items to consign from Jen Moss to my Mac.com address and receive your daily obsession emails to Mac.com and I can't understand why my email is automatically changed when corresponding with your customer service dept. it's beyond frustrating as I go thru this every time. There been instances where I've been charged 2 shipping fees even though I sent it back in one box and it's such a headache I've stopped asking to be recredited a shipping charge. This latest instance Roberto didn't see my explanation or chose not to do anything and turned me over to someone else who sent me an email saying my return was already on its way back to the company. Oh my word, PLEASE read the email thread. She had looked up the wrong RMA number. I haven't sent back the item I wanted to return so I'm not sure how she thought she could provide me with that I formation. It's exhausting. 4 days and I still don't have what it need. I'm just going to write the RMA number on my original invoice and ship it back myself and hopefully the person opening the box with see it. Please have someone reach out to me and explain why my email gets changed when dealing with customer service, no other dept.

What callback?

After waiting for over 15 min for a rep to answer, I chose to select the callback feature. It says you won't lose your place in line and will receive a callback. Days later, I'm still waiting.

International Customers Perspective
September 4, 2021

As an international customer I have found The Real Real an excellent online shopping site. There is an exceptionally large range of items offered, reasonably priced and often in fabrics and brands not readily available in my country. Their customer service has always been helpful and replied promptly to my inquiries. Their shipping and delivery has been prompt and hassle free. To date I have not needed to return any items so I cannot comment on their return process. As an international customer there is some frustration that certain items cannot be purchase due to custom restrictions on export of certain products, such as camel hair for example, but this aside The Real Real has offered the best all round shopping experience I have encountered.-
