I love the quality and the value of the Real Real. Their customer service people are great too. However, I have had some difficulty when I needed to return items.
Sometimes, their website is down for returns and I had to call and spend alot of time on the phone to get my return label.
Ordered a coat and received the wrong one. That should be easy. CSS aplogizes, I send the coat back. They locate the right one or issue a refund, right?
That's not what happened
I was instructed to wait a day while they looked for the coat. Two days pass and nothing. I message the CSA, explaining the situation because I'm not sure whether I'd get a new person; the email address was generic. The CSA was extremely rude. After a few exchanges, I got her to issue a return slip (which they had to charge me for and then refund). Then I received a second invoice. I messaged again, trying to see what was going on; it looked like some weird exchange procedure but I wanted to be sure. I was also unclear on the return instructions. I MESSAGED SEVERAL TIMES AND NEVER HEARD FROM THE COMPANY AGAIN. I did get my refund, but I would never shop from them again
Also, the items do not smell cleaned. That coat had a tissue in it and smelled like perfume

I generally love TRR. But lately it's been having some problems. I desperately wanted a bag from Charlotte Olympia. I tried and tried to purchase it, like 10 times, no kidding, but TRR couldn't complete the sale. After all of this trying, while the item was still in my bag, I got a notification that someone else had purchased it. It's like where will I ever find the bag again? It's old. Also, it would help if TRR would put the proper name of the bag or item on the item. The bag was called Rosita from Charlotte Olympia. You would know this if you took a simple pic and uploaded it into Google pics. It does a reverse search. But TRR doesn't do that. I have an expensive collection of things that I routinely sell to the site, but all they did for me was give me a $25 voucher which expired for some reason. Hard to use the voucher when the item I wanted is gone.

I've been buying from the company from some time now. The most recent purchase I had was of a LV wallet. I don't know whether it was because of the age of sitting in a box. It was considered in pristine condition. But my wallet is coming apart. The 3rd day the inside peeled away from the actual early itself. As if there was glue temporarily holding the leather binding together. I was very disappointed.
The next bag, a YSL, it began to fray the 4th day of wearing (handles). Not good.
I hesitate now to purchase bags vs when I did almost 2 years ago. In addition, some bags are extremely inflated. The purchase value does not match the current value of the bag/wallets (some).
I would love to see more options in your beauty department. It seems as though the same items that stand on site for half a year.
Why didn't I contact the company if the wallet? The hassle. I'll update a picture when I get to my classroom. I am a teacher, I don't have frivolous money to spend, so I love quality control when I invest.
You don't give shipping estimates at checkout. I would appreciate an estimated arrival day and also a few options for faster shipping. These dresses are for events and occasions. When I am on a tight timeline I don't buy there because it takes too long

Half of the items i have ordered over the last couple of months have had unlisted stains and other important. Stains i can get out. I was able to return on item and ended up having to pay for the shipping to send it back after they told me shipping would be on them because they sent me a item that look like it was dirty from laying on a warehouse floor.

TRR still offers a fabulous range of merchandise, but client service in 2021 has declined steeply. I no longer consign with TRR since the experience is no longer a civilized sit down with immediate receipt by email; now I'm expected to stand in the street and hand over my very high end pieces to a clerk. And even shopping has been impacted. I purchased a vintage YSL skirt which I immediately realized did not suit me; I returned it to a TRR store near me the same day I received it, with all tags attached, yet I did not receive a credit card refund for three weeks, and then only because I called both Amex and TRR "Customer Service". I'm incredibly disappointed. But there are happily many other places to shop and consign!

TRR inventory, logistics and customer service issues continue- this is the 4th item I ordered in the past few months and is missing/stolen.
Customer experience is really poor and has been worsening over the past year as they have been scaling. They need to make structural changes (systems and management) to be successful and redeem themselves with customers (hope they do as the business model and merchandise are good!).

I see items listed with same condition and my shoes got returned. And I'm description for shirt returned it said a stain was on it which it isn't. So won't attempt to sell again

I've been shopping on TRR for years and had issues from time to time, most of the times their customer service is quite helpful. However very recently I've only experienced very disappointing response from the customer service, including one time one item was marked new with tag yet no buttons on the sleeves and apparently it's very used, the customer service only offered return for credit… seriously consideri live so far away out of the US and with all the hassle to get UPS, I proposed to rather just keep it and have partial refund, but then TRR cs Only offered me to keep it for nothing or me making all the effort and hassles to return for store credit…. I mean as a customer this is really just not reasonable…

This is the most professional, in-depth course I have ever met. Basically, they talk about the history of fashion and art descriptively, just retell the facts, talk about the details of clothes. It may be interesting to listen to it, but it is very difficult to apply it in work.
Answer: Do not buy from them! Their return/refund policy is skewed to their benefit. In my case, I bought a Louis Vuitton bag and when it was received it was not in the condition advertised or the photos did not highlight the real wear of the bag and they refused to make a refund or credit. It's their lost because I have since bought many bags on Ebay which offers guarantee of refund should item be faulty or misrepresented. Also, on Ebay you can judge by seller feedback whether the seller is reputable and PRICES are so much less than on the REAL REAL. Their name should be changed to the REAL GREED!

Most times, this is for new customers who have never shopped with us before, orders with vastly different billing and shipping information, or are international customers with unverified credit cards. We will ask for some sensitive and personal information for the purposes of verifying the identity of the purchaser but we will not ask for a Social Security Number. Was your father attempting to complete his purchase via Affirm? Affirm is a third party company we work with that offers financing on purchases. If your father was attempting to complete a purchase via Affirm, they do require a SSN for a soft credit check for the loan approval and repayment options. As Affirm is a third party, we do not have access to any of that information so it is secure with Affirm. Of course, no one is required to use Affirm for check out, rather it's just another payment option we offer. Answer: I do NOT recommend selling through TRR. Read all seller reviews. This a speed selling co trying to cash in on a quick commission. The prices they assign are RIDICULOULOUS at best. They are not there to get you a good price but a fast buck for themselves. They priced a brand new prada bag with a label on at $625. Minus 20% permanent discount, 60% of that, I receive a whopping $312. After 10 days wait of processing and seeing the prices assigned I pulled my items. I was shocked and even more upset. I rather give the cloths to charity or sell them myself. I think it is insiders who buy the best items at dirt cheap prices they assign themselves. As a buyer just today I receive a wrong item. They were going to research the problem and find the item I purchased, a coat. They sent me a dirty silk top... This is after waiting for 10 days to get the wrong item. This co is just very bad. Customer service is spotty. Some reps are just dreadful. They sound like this is a summer gig and they got no training, you can never speak to a supervisor, none is ever available, Read the reviews and decide if you still want to use this co. If you do, you will be disappointed,

Answer: I don't work for The Real Real I am just a satisfied customer, very satisfied! I see all the complaints, and just shake my head. Knowing how people can be, and also knowing the complainers are the ones who write letters, I can only assume they are "out of touch with reality", or POSSIBLY are competitors who are just being difficult to try and hurt the site. Remember, anyone can write anything, that does not mean it is true, nor are ALL the facts being presented! As for me, I am willing to show, and prove who I am, and the great products and service I received.
Answer: This happened to me only one time, and I have sold quite a few items with them. As soon as I received the quote for a pair of earrings. I contacted them immediately and said I felt the price was to low due to various reasons, and they got back to me the next day with an adjusted price. I have never experienced what you are describing above as a bait and switch scenario, and I always check the similar or same items they are selling. I would just call them and ask for the details as to why the other item is higher. Sorry you had a bad experience!
Answer: File a complaint with the US Customs office in your area and your state's attorney general. Also for many types of goods, they will destroy the counterfeit goods and give you a letter stating they have done so. This is ironclad proof for the bank dispute.
